We're looking for writers and content creators to help us build the goto online Gay community. Whatever you want to write about as long as it's LGBT we're interested!
We ask all our contributors to write at least 3 articles a month, one of which should be connected to our monthly theme.
Themes are agreed upon 3 months in advance, via a monthly conference call, which all writers are invited to join.
We ask that anyone who wants to write for TheGayUK submits one sample piece of work presenting their style showing that they can adhere to our editorial policy, which we can send to you on request.

As a not for profit organisation we're unable to pay contributors at this time, apart from agreed expenses, but we hope to bring you some exciting perks in the very near future.
Through your contribution you'll be reaching out to tens of thousands of gay, lesbian, bisexual and trangender people across the nation, giving you, your event or business a nationwide audience.
We are looking for the following roles:
Sub Editors
* South except London
* Islands: - Isle of Wight, Isle Of Man, Channel Isles
* Midlands: to include Wales and the Home counties.
We are looking for a South UK, Islands & Midlands editor. Working with our UK editorial team, you'll be responsible for the content on your part of the TheGayUK, ensuring that our editorial theme and policy is adhered to. You'll also be part of the decision making process on monthly themes and the editorial direction for TheGayUK. You'll be charge of recruiting and maintaining relationships with new and existing writers. Ensuring that the highest quality and standards of work is achieved. General fixing of spelling and grammar mistakes and minor re-working to ensure that the work flows with the general feel of TheGayUK. Where work is not of a usable quality you'll need to return it to the contributor for them to amend.
You must have the ability to research on any given subject, able to check facts and have a creative sense of what will look good on the page and work within our editorial constraints. Ensuring that any image included are the correct sizing (policy will be made available) and have the appropriate clearance permissions.
You should have a great eye for detail and have a keen familiarity with our brand and style.
You will help in the auditioning process of new contributors by reviewing submissions.
Listings Manager
The listings area of TheGayUK is one of the most popular areas of the TheGayUK accounting for nearly a quarter of all page serves on the website.
You’ll be responsible for ensuring that our website listings are kept up-to-date. There are currently over 1000 LGBT businesses in the UK and we want to give fair coverage to all of them. You will be responsible for keeping our database current and making sure that all businesses listed are LGBT owned, run or themed.
You will have knowledge and the ability to use Google Maps and have access to a computer so that the database can be updated remotely. Use of an Apple Mac computer is preferred.
Another part of the job to organize and write reviews of venues, business and events listed on TheGayUK. This position is ideal for someone who wants to travel the country. You will need to maintain and develop relationships with business, venue and event owners.
You will also need to ensure that reviews posted on the website by the general public meet our standards and that a review standard is upheld.
Entertainment Reviewers
TV, Film, Theatre, Book and Music reviews form an important and integral part of TheGayUK’s brand and editorial policy. All of our reviews will be LGBT related or have an established LGBT fan base.
We’re asked to review a large number of entertainment areas via the following formats:
Screenings (usually in London)
Press nights
DVDs
CDs
Online streaming
Soundcloud
YouTube
Launch parties
Premieres
