A carnival atmosphere filled the streets of Cardiff on September 1st 2012 as hundreds of spectators, young and old witnessed the first ever Cardiff LGBT Mardi Gras Parade.

With over 600 entries in its first year the parade was one of the highlights of the Cardiff Mardi Gras that took place on Coopers Field by the majestic Cardiff Castle for the 12th year running.

Heather Small, X Factor finalist Marcus Collins and Welsh Music Award nominee Bright Light Bright Light joined artists such as The Lady Ga Ga Experience, Stacey Jackson and Clinigol on the main stage for 10 hours of music and entertainment enjoyed by 15,000. This year’s festivities also included a cabaret tent, community market vendors, catering, bars and a dance arena hosted by Decadence.
