How The Community Works

If you’re new around here and are wondering how to use this site here’s what we’re all about…

There are a few ways you can connect with other people.

When you log in you’ll be directed to the timeline. Here’s where you can update your followers and friends on what you’re doing. You can add pictures and video. Think of it as something similar to Facebook’s newsfeed.

It might look quite blank at first, but the more people you friend and following the more your timeline will be populated with stories, pictures and news.

Finding someone specific.
If you’re looking for someone specific then head on over to the member list. Here’s where you’ll be able to view the thousands of profiles. If you like someone you see why not drop them a message or send them a friend request.

We want to create meaningful connections between people who use this site. One of the ways to do this is to connect you through community groups. We’ve created some already, but if you don’t see anything you like then why not create one yourself. If someone else digs what you’re doing, hopefully, they’ll join too!

Plus you can always invite new people to come and check out your group.

LGBT+ media is under threatCan you help?

We’re aiming to be ad-free and we can with your help. With Facebook and Google hoovering up most of the ad spend in the UK, it’s never been harder to be a publisher – let alone a niché publisher.

If you like what we do please consider helping us out so THEGAYUK can continue to exist.
