We Are Gay UK

Adoption by gay parents and individuals has been legal in England and Wales since 2002.

The law (Adoption and Children Act 2002) permits either a single person or couple to adopt. The law was disputed on one occasion, but it passed. A similar law was introduced in Scotland in 2009 and Northern Ireland in 2013.
