Pride in London 2013 launched officially today with An Audience with Martina Navratilova hosted by Clare Balding at the St James Theatre London.
Over 300 people were treated to a fascinating and fun conversation about the nine times Wimbledon Champion’s career, life and campaigning work. At the end of the show, Martina jumped into the crowd and VIP ticket holders also enjoyed a reception with the two stars after the show.
Martina Navratilova said,
“It’s a joy to open Pride in London in this way and a great start to Wimbledon fortnight for me too. I hope that the whole of London will celebrate Pride this year and show the rest of the world why it is such an amazing city.”
Michael Salter, Chair of Pride in London said,
“We are so grateful to Martina and Clare for getting Pride off to such a fabulous start. To have the support of such incredible people in the first year of the reborn Pride in London is a huge honour. There’s so much more coming up in the next week running up to the big day. Pride in London 2013 really does have something for everyone so people should use our website, www.londoncommunitypride.org to plan their Pride.”
