A teenager who appeared at court charged with rape has been remanded ahead of his next court appearance.

The 13-year-old boy from north London appeared at Willesden Magistrate’s Court on Friday 19 May charged with one count of rape of a male under 13; one count of causing or inciting a child under 13 into sexual activity and one count of kidnap.

He was remanded into secure accommodation to appear at Hammersmith Magistrates’ Court on Tuesday, 23 May.

Officers from the Met’s Sexual Offences, Exploitation and Child Abuse Command are investigating following the rape of a child under the age of 13 in Roe Green Park off Kingsbury Road, NW9 on Tuesday, 16 May.
