Adam Lambert And Record Label Part Ways

American Idol Alumni and his record label, 19 Recordings have parted ways.

The Never Close Our Eyes singer who was the first openly gay man to top the charts with his latest album Trespassing in the US, has reportedly parted ways with his label, 19 Recordings, despite topping the charts.

His contract with 19 Recordings was due to expire in January. He is still on the roster at RCA Records – owned by Sony.

“It’s good for both sides,” says an insider. “Adam can move forward with his plans and 19 isn’t stuck in the middle.”

A rep for Lambert says the two parties leave “amicably and with the utmost respect for each other,” adding that the decision is but one part of the singer’s “evolution,” which began when he joined Direct Management Group, home to Katy Perry among other clients, – reports Billboard.com
Conversations with RCA about his 3rd album have already begun.
