  • Spotlight: Ben Haenow From X Factor 2014

We spy with our little eyes something beginning with hot X Factor contestant Ben, but sorry boys he’s spoken for!

The 29-year-old van driver from Croydon has certainly made an impact with audiences and has proved very popular with the judges and impressed them all with his version of Wild Horses. Ben used to be in a band with his brother called “The Lost Audio”. He is a long term relationship and nearly proposed to his girlfriend at the arena auditions.

So what does it feel like to be through to the lives?

“I can’t believe it. I wasn’t happy with my performance and everyone else was so good. To be the last one to be sent through, as well. It felt like I was waiting for a year”

What did you feel about the makeovers?

“I’m excited about it. I’m not sure I want highlights or blue ends but I’m definitely willing to have a bit of a trim. I’ve never been styled, I’ve never had that before.”

    What is your dream duet?

“All my heroes are dead, man! Robert Plant, from Led Zep. If I could have a dead one it’d be Otis Reading. The guy has an amazing voice.”

And what about your van days?

“I might buy one for leisure purposes!”

  • Jake Quickenden In The Dog House For Naked Pictures

Scary is not happy with hunky Jake Quickenden after he posed nude in another magazine spread.

The X FACTOR Star, who finds it hard to keep his clothes on got a dressing down from the former Spice Girl after she discovered the new nudes, with fellow X Factor contestant Jack Walton.

‘I told you to keep your clothes on for at least one week,’ she said to the cheeky singer.

She decided to teach him a lesson by making him eat spicy chocolate. She called it ‘his punishment.’

To be honest, we would have thought whips and chains would have been better… But there you go.

Jake who is no stranger to getting nude in front of the camera shot back at Mel’s derision by saying, ‘I know Mel wasn’t too happy but I love getting naked.

‘So who really cares what I do?’

See whether Jake manages to stay in the competition another week, after failing to impress the judges with his cover of She’s Like The Wind.

X Factor continues tonight on ITV 1.

  • Spotlight X Factor: Andrea Faustini

He’s been winning the hearts of viewers all over the UK. We get to know Andrea Faustini a little better.

He wowed the judges with his initial performance ofWho’s Loving You in the room auditions. Cheryl even said, “That is unbelievable. You’ve got such control over your voice. When you came in, I was not expecting that at all….don’t judge a book by its cover…”

He then reduced Mel B and Cheryl to tears with his version of Whitney’s Didn’t Know My Own Strength at Boot Camp, even Simon was moved to a standing ovation.

What are you most looking forward to about doing the live shows?

“I just want to sing my heart out, show everyone who I really am, and give everything I have. I think this is the greatest chance I’ve ever had in my life. I still can’t believe it right now.”

    And your rivals?

“I’m not thinking about rivals. I’m just thinking about the singers who are really good. I really like Paul, I love his style and I think he’s an amazing soul singer. I think he’s going to do really well. I wouldn’t call him a rival but I think he’s very good.”

    And on the makeover?

I think it’s a very fun side of this job. Obviously you have to be focused on singing but that is a very fun side and I love choosing outfits..”

What will you do if you win?

“I would buy a car, maybe. I’m not very good at driving so just a small one, to start with.”

  • That Time Mark Byron Auditioned For X Factor

Mark Byron became one of the most talked about contestants in this year’s Big Brother – but do you remember when he auditioned for The X Factor back in 2011?

It seems as Mark Byron has a bit of a reality TV streak in him as this video of him auditioning for The X Factor show.

He auditioned in front of Gary Barlow, Kelly Rowland, Louis Walsh and Tulisa, with an out of tune rendition of Rihanna’s Only Girl In The World. After getting 4 No votes Mark vowed to ‘leave the country!’

Mark was booted out the Big Brother house on Friday in a surprise double eviction with Winston.

But The X Factor isn’t all Mark’s tried his hand at; he also starred in Channel 4’s Shipwrecked when he was 18. Check out his intro here!

  • Victoria Beckham to style Mel B on X Factor?

Oh mercy… when dreams collide. (sort of, not really)

Now we all know that Scary AKA Mel B is going to be on this year’s UK version of XFACTOR – however she sort of dropped a mahooosive hint that perhaps style icon Victoria Beckham might be doing some business with her.

Taking to Twitter the ex-(sometimes not ex – only if there’s an Olympics…) Spice-Girl said, ‘Watch out- we mean business ;)’ and posted a link to a picture of Victoria Beckham and herself.

Goodness me… What does this all mean? Can you image two Spiceys on XFactor?

  • COWELL: James Arthur Should Have Shut Up

Simon Cowell has his claws out for past winners, Sam and James Arthur

So it’s been announced that Simon Cowell and Cheryl will be returning to XFactor this year and Mr Cowell is wasting no time reminding people why they love him in the first place. He’s a complete bitch! Well done that man.

First he had a swipe at Sam Bailey, he doesn’t hold out much hope for success it seems after it was reported in the Metro he said:

Sam, we will wait and see,

‘She will have a very successful debut album. (Is she) going to be as good as the final year we did? No. That was a very special year. I would love to find another Olly Murs or something similar to Olly.’

But it was on James Arthur he truly vented saying:

‘I think James, unfortunately, has had so many issues with what he has done publicly – which is a real issue with me. Somebody should have told him to shut up and just put the records out.’

Last year James Arthur caused controversy after using an anti-gay slur in a rap he recorded in retaliation to a diss he received from an online troll.

  • Sam Bailey wins X Factor 2013

With Millions of Votes cast, Sam Bailey, has been crowned the Winner of XFactor 2013.

Her debut single Skyscapers is now available to buy on iTunes and Amazon.

Skycrapers was originally released by Demi Lovato.

  • NEWS: James Arthur Misses The Mark With “Gay” Apology

Stunned members of the gay community took to Twitter to complain about the lack of ‘sincerity’ of James Arthur’s apology for his recent homophobic slur.

Hundreds of people took to Twitter during James Arthur’s attempt at rehabilitation of his career and the launch of his new single Recovery after a shocking couple of weeks.

Enraged users of the micro-blogging site vented their anger as Arthur mumbled his way through his interview with X Factor host Dermot O’Leary.

Arthur who won last year’s X Factor was hauled over the coals two weeks ago, when a recorded rap appeared online, in which he called an underground rapper Mickey Worthless a “f**king queer”

However, James Arthur was quick to point out he is friends with many gay people – including Rylan Clark.

He then suggested that parts of the rap could be ‘mistaken’ for being homophobic, before saying that homophobia is not something he believes in.

In a further twist, fellow contestant Lucy Spraggan then published a number of texts sent from Arthur, in which he blasted her for speaking out against him.

    The embattled singer told O’Leary:

‘You know it’s been an amazing year for me. Some incredible highs and some terrible lows. I’ve made a few silly mistakes, but I want to say thank you to everyone who’s supported me.

‘Above all I want to say sorry for abusing my position as an X Factor winner.’

Users of Twitter and Facebook were not impressed with many calling into question the sincerity of the apology.

    Facebook user Robb Patrick said:

‘He was sorry to the show NOT sorry for the use of offensive language said in anger and spite!

What a wastes [sic] opportunity James!!’

    and Steven Smyth wrote:

‘I feel sick he was aloud (sic) on a complaint is going into itv’

Despite the singer’s prime-time performance of his new single Recovery on ITV’s flagship show, the single has failed to enter the top 10 on the iTunes’ singles chart, and his debut album James Arthur has fallen 10 places to number 18 in the UK Official Album Chart.

  • NEWS: Will James Arthur appear on X-Factor this weekend?

Thousands of people have signed an online petition to have the previous X-Factor winner James Arthur banned from singing his new single on World AIDS Day.

It’s still unclear, as momentum grows, if James Arthur will or will not appear on the show. It seems thousands of people are still not happy with the singers behaviour over the last few weeks where he made a rap video calling a fellow rapper a ‘f**king queer’.

James apologised for the rap saying, ‘Some of the things said in this rap can be mistaken for homophobic slurs and I assure you homophobia is something I do not believe in’.

However some people have spoken up about there being no mistake in the language choice used.

‘The context was “you’re a f***ing queer” and went on to say “‘you probably want to stick your dick in me” – if that doesn’t insinuate homosexuality then what does? There’s no mistaking!’, messaged one reader on GayStarNews.

With the performance set for World AIDS Day, some have questioned if this is appropriate as more people seem less impressed with Arthur’s apology. The big question still being asked is, will James perform or not?

  • ALBUM REVIEW | The X Factor Album

    ★★★★ | The X Factor Album

Did you know X Factor is ten years old and that the programme, whether you’re a fan or a hater has generated millions of sales and brought about a new era in music.

If you think that every X Factor winner or entrant sounds the same, then all you have to do is pop this 34 track album on to hear the full breadth of talent the juggernaut reality talent show has delivered to the UK music scene.

The album has it all, from the omnipresent One Direction to the seraphic tones of Diana Vickers, the power belt of Leona to the genuine intonations of Matt Cardle and Rebecca Ferguson. This album delivers 18 Number Ones and the veritable soundtrack to Christmases since 2004.

Despite the controversies that often surrounds X Factor contestants and winners, this album brings together the good and the better.

An interesting and potentially political mix of tracks and some very obvious omissions including Steve Brookstein and Leon Jackson, but tracks from artists that didn’t do well or even complete the series such as Lucy Spraggan and Aiden Grimshaw also feature.

The album is out on the 25th November and is bound to notch another Number 1 for the team at Syco.
