     ★★★★★ The 39 Steps  | This production was masterful in every aspect of theatre-craft. It encompassed staging that was bursting with creativity in every nook and cranny. Designed by Peter McKintosh, the set came alive through different entrances and exits which were revealed as actors turned them around, flipped them upside down, and they were even mounted in all sorts of angles.

  • There’s A Sadiq Khan LGBT Fundraiser For His Mayoral Campaign

    For £50 you can party with Labour London Mayoral Candidate Sadiq Khan… and get a T-Shirt!

    In an effort to raise money for Mr. Khan’s London Mayoral campaign, the Labour party are selling tickets to an “LGBT Fundraiser”.

    For £50 you can get standard entry and a Sadiq T-shirt, however if you book now you can get a knock down entry for £15.

    The party is due to take place at the RVT and will be hosted by Amy Lame and will joined by a former Cover star for THEGAYUK Asifa Lahore.
    A statement from the website reads,

    “To help raise a bit of money for Sadiq Khan’s Mayoral campaign we are throwing him a big old LGBTQ+ party at the historic Royal Vauxhall Tavern on 2nd March hosted by the indomitable Amy Lamé.”

    According to the site, the MP for Tooting will be in attendance as well as other “labour guest apperances”.

    Sadiq has always voted for equal gay rights according to TheyWorkForYou.com, but was absent for a vote on the same-sex marriage bill, (third reading).

    The London Mayoral elections will take place on 5th May. Zac Goldsmith MP is standing as the Conversative candidate.

    Sheffield Library Adds 100 LGBT Books To Its Shelves

    Sheffield Library has announced that it has added 100 LGBT titles to its shelves to celebrate LGBT History Month.

    Over 100 books, which include those from authors Patrick Gale, Stella Duffy and Armistead Maupin have been added  to Sheffield‘s central library, bringing their collection of LGBT books to 300 titles.

    Councillor Sioned-Mair Richards, cabinet member for neighbourhoods at Sheffield City Council, said:

    “The libraries in Sheffield are for everyone and we want everyone to feel catered for. It’s great more titles have been added with LGBT interests but I hope all people will enjoy them.  Patrick Gale, Stella Duffy and Armistead Maupin are particular favourites of mine so I’ll be in the queue!”

    The new books hit the shelves this month to mark LGBT history month which promotes diversity and equality.

    The collection is held in the Central Lending Library but the books can be loaned from all branches.

    Sheffield City Council aims to promote fairness and equality. Last month the authority was named as one of the top 50 places to work in Stonewall’s nationally acclaimed Workforce Equality Index, and was the 6th highest achieving local authority in the country.
