  • Jack Maynard apologises for tweets in highly edited Youtube video

YouTuber and former I’m A Celebrity star, Jack Maynard has finally spoken up after homophobic and racist tweets were discovered on his Twitter timelines.

It’s taken Jack Maynard nearly three days since leaving the jungle to issue his own statement surrounding the reasons why he left the Jungle on Tuesday.

He posted a video on YouTube apologising for his language. He titled the video, “My Explanation”. However, the video, in which he said he was “really, really sorry”, was highly edited and Jack himself seemingly found it difficult to look directly at his audience throughout his throughout the four and a half-minute video.

In the video, he said, “As you can already tell I’m back in London, I have left the jungle in Australia where I was before this. To be honest, I just want to start off with that I’m sorry, I’m just really, really sorry,” he said.

“The least you deserved was for me to come home and sit down and talk to you and explain everything that has been going on.”

“I’m sure most of you have seen that a lot of stuff have been written in the press over the last few days so I thought the least you deserved was for me to come home and just sit down and talk to you and explain everything that has been going on.

“I’m so sorry to anyone that I offended, anyone I upset, anyone I made feel uncomfortable.”

“I’ve messed up I’ve been really stupid in the past and tweeted some horrible things, some pretty disgusting things that I’m just ashamed of,”  he continued.

“I was young, I was stupid, I was careless I just wasn’t thinking back when I’d just left school and I didn’t know what I was doing getting into arguments with people on Twitter before I knew I’d have any impact online.”

“I’m just so embarrassed, we’ve had such an amazing year,” he said.

“One of the reasons I went on the show was because I saw it as a huge achievement to see off the year and I feel like I completely messed it up.

“All I can do is beg and encourage that you guys don’t make the same mistake as well.

“Don’t put anything online you wouldn’t say to your mum.”

    Fall from grace

Jack Maynard’s departure from ITV’s flagship show came after the Sun, unearthed numerous tweets from the YouTuber, the tweets included the use of the “n-word”, which were used to describe a friend and “faggots” which was used as a slur.

The term “retard” was also used as an insult towards people.

The tweets date back up to six years when he was a teenager at the time of publishing these tweets.

The video, posted on Maynard’s official channel on YouTube has been watched nearly 1,000,000 times since it was published.

  • Stormzy apologises for “foul and offensive” tweets

Hip-hop artist, Stormzy has Tweeted an apology for “foul and offensive” things written on his Twitter timeline.

Stormzy has issued a full and complete apology for some of the tweets sent on his Twitter, dating back to 2011. In a statement, he wrote that the messages sent from his account were “unacceptable and disgusting”. He also said sorry and that he regretted sending the messages.

The star, who has achieved a number 1 album in the UK charts, wrote,”The homophobic language I used was, embarrassingly, a part of my vocabulary when I was younger and ignorance made me feel comfortable to use them whilst not understanding the hate and the ramifications they carry.”

THEGAYUK’s editor and chief Jake Hook said, “Stormzy’s apology is by far one of the most sincere apologies I’ve ever seen from a celebrity when they’ve been confronted with their past actions. It’s heartening to see that someone as important as Stormzy is can acknowledge the pain and upset that homophobia can inflict on members of the LGBTQ+ community and can offer a heartfelt apology so eloquently – and all within 24 hours.

“If the last couple of months has taught us anything it’s that it’s an opportunity for people to start going over their own timelines and checking for comments that are just offensive and removing them. We have a whole dictionary of words to use. We don’t need to resort to homophobia, racism, sexism, ableism in order to get our points across.”

  • Thug jailed after slashing face of man holding his boyfriend’s hand

A man has been jailed for two years following an attack on a man – who was holding his boyfriend’s hand – in which he glassed the victim’s face and cornea.

In an unprovoked attack, Anjungi Lam, 35 (28.4.82) of Addington Road, Croydon glassed a man in the face, after seeing him holding his male partner’s hand at a pub in Peckham, London.

Lam admitted grievous bodily harm at Inner London Crown Court on Friday, 23 June and was sentenced on Friday, 17 November.

On Sunday, 5 March at around 22:30hrs the victim and his 20-year-old boyfriend arrived holding hands at the Kentish Drovers pub in Peckham High Street, Southwark SE15.

They went to the bar and were deciding what drinks to buy when suddenly, Lam then raced towards the victim and smashed a pint glass against the right side of his face, cutting his nose, lip and neck, chipping his tooth and injuring his cornea. Flying glass also hit his boyfriend in the eye.

Lam then ran out of the pub. Lam was quickly identified via CCTV; he had worked for the pub for three months before being sacked for lateness.

He was arrested on Friday, 19 May and subsequently charged.

Investigating officer PC Lance Sharrock, from Southwark’s Community Safety Unit, said: “This was an entirely unprovoked incident. Lam did not know the victim or his partner, they had not spoken nor had any disagreement to provoke such a violent attack.

“The victims felt Lam must have been motivated by homophobia as they entered the pub holding hands and we began a hate crime investigation.

“Lam was quickly identified and I am pleased at his sentence which shows that incidents of this nature will not be tolerated.”

+ Lam was jailed for an additional year for a number of separate offences not linked to the GBH; actual bodily harm, assault by beating, theft and having an offensive weapon.

  • Nearly 20 homophobic Tweets found on Stormzy’s Twitter timeline

Nearly 20 homophobic tweets have been found on the Hip Hop artist, Stormzy’s twitter account.

The tweets, some of which date back to 2011 use homophobic slurs, like “no homo” and “faggot” to blast critics on his social media account. At least one was aimed at an actor for dancing on an advert.

Tweets sent from the MOBO-award winning artist’s account used insults like “faggot” and “gay” as a pejorative term.

The tweets were sent from his account before he achieved chart success in 2017 and before he was named on the BBC Influential Sound of 2015 list. The artist has had a number 1 album in the UK, selling at least 100,000 records – achieving a Gold disk.

At least 19 tweets were found using homophobic language. The tweets, which were dated between 2011 and 2014 have now all, seemingly, been deleted.

Tweets sent from his official account suggested that men who use straighteners or curling tongs are “fags” whilst another tweet blasted an actor in a Lucozade advert as a “big faggot” for dancing.

The tweets, discovered by PinkNews have now been deleted, but we managed to find some of them before they were pulled from Twitter.

Another Tweet suggests that being gay was a slur and asked his critics whether they were gay. Another message questioned whether being mature was also “gay”.

Following news of his removal, an ITV spokesperson said,  “Due to circumstances outside camp Jack has had to withdraw from the show.”

According to this unofficial, I’m A Celeb Twitter account, his management released a statement explaining the decision for Jack to leave the show.

“In the last few days Jack Maynard has been the subject of a succession of media stories which, given his position as a contestant on I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here! – filmed in the Australian jungle, with no contact with the outside world, he has been unable to respond to.

“Since it is only fair that everyone should be aware of any allegations made against them and should also have the right to defend themselves, it was agreed that it would be better to bring him out of the show.”

  • Grindr is no longer just for men – new update allows women and trans people

One of the world’s biggest hookup apps for gay and bi men is about to get a massive update.

In a new update, Grindr, one of the world’s busiest dating and hook up apps for gay and bi men will add options to cater for women and trans people. New options will include, trans woman, trans man, non-binary and “queer”.

Users will also be able to choose which pronouns they prefer including “they” and “them”.

In an article in Grindr’s online magazine, the company said, “The trans community navigates tricky waters when it comes to online dating, from confusion over their gender identity to harassment to sometimes worse.  Grindr gets this and they’re doing something about it.”

To accompany the changes, Grindr has created an entire FAQ section, written in consultation with the National Center for Transgender Equality, and includes information on gender identity and help, it says, to help non-trans people “interact respectfully”.

It also provides insight on how to go about hooking up with a trans person as well a helpful article on what it means to be transgender, non-binary and cis-gender. It also includes advice on asking a transgender person about surgeries that they may have had or not.

It also has resources to help transgender people feel safe, with a number of numbers and contact details for people to call should they find themselves in trouble.

  • Amir Khan blasted with homophobic comments after failing Jungle task

In his Jungle trial, boxing champ, Amir Khan, shouted those infamous words “I’m a celebrity get me out of here”.

Amir Khan blasted with homophobic comments after failing Jungle task

It didn’t take long for the homophobes on social media to start hurling slurs at the boxer.

Amir Khan is the first celebrity to utter the phrase, “I’m a celebrity get me out of here,” in a long time after facing his darkest fears, snakes.

In the task, which was broadcast on last night’s episode, he had to put his hand into a number of holes filled with crabs, creepy crawlies and snakes. After minutes of trying and failing to even get his hand into any of the holes, he plunged his arm into one, only to pull out a live snake, proving too much for the star. Moments later he yelled those infamous words.

Some fans of the show, however, equated his failure to being gay and hurled homophobic slurs, such as “faggot”, “batty” and “queer” at the 30-year-old boxer.

    Anti-gay trolls

After panicking during his I’m A Celeb trial, Boxing Champ, Amir Khan uttered those infamous words – and the task was over. Fans, however, were not impressed.

Some tweeters used “gay” in a pejorative way,

Whilst others couldn’t help but call him a “faggot”

Others opted to call Amir, “queer”

Bravery has nothing to do with sexuality.

Jake Hook, Editor of THEGAYUK.com said, “It’s truly disappointing that in 2017 people on social media still equate being gay with being fearful, weak or somehow inferior. This kind of bullying and trolling just further embeds the notion that being LGBT+ is less than and weak and it has to stop. Some of the bravest, most powerful people in the world are members of the LGBT+ community – some of whom have faced worse than snakes in a pit. Bravery has nothing to do with sexuality.

“Amir Khan’s inability to complete a task has nothing to do with his sexuality – but more to do with the fact that he’s scared of snakes.”

  • Jack Maynard in homophobic and racist Tweet shame

He’s only just gone into the jungle, but Jack Maynard’s time on the show, I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out of Here could be cut short after racist and homophobic tweets were found on his Twitter account.

The YouTuber, Jack Maynard has come under fire after a series of homophobic and racist tweets were discovered on his Twitter timeline. The tweets included the use of the “n-word”, which he used to describe a friend and “faggots” which he used as a slur.

He also used the term “retard” as an insult towards people.

The tweets, which were uncovered by The Sun,  date back up to six years. He was a teenager at the time of publishing these tweets.

The 22-year-old YouTube star has over a million subscribers on the video platform and has hundreds of thousands of fans on Twitter and Instagram, he has 700,000 and 600,000 followers on each respective social media site. Before becoming a YouTuber he worked as a personal trainer.

In the unearthed tweets he mocked gay men and called friends the racist “n-word” term repeatedly. He also poked fun at people with facial disfigurements.

    “Faggots”, Retards and “N-Words”

In a post dated February 2013 he replied to one critic saying,  “hahaha shutup you f****t… By the way who hit you with a shovel?”

In one tweet, posted online in June 2011, he wrote, “At alices with my n****s!”

He also repeatedly calls people “retards”.

    “Ashamed”

A spokesperson for the YouTuber said, “Jack is ashamed of what he said in these tweets, many of which were deleted a long time ago and were sent in response to a neighbour who was bullying him. Jack was a lot younger when he posted them in 2012 but realises that age is no defence. He would never use that language now and realises that, as someone who was bullied himself, this kind of retaliatory, inflammatory, insulting language is completely unacceptable.”

An ITV spokesperson issued a statement which said, “Jack has issued a full apology and has deleted the tweets that he sent.”

THEGAYUK.com reached out to ITV for comment.

Last week, a former editor, Josh Rivers, of Gay Times Magazine was fired after just 20 days in office, after an investigation by Buzzfeed into Rivers’ Twitter account. Dozens of racist, homophobic, fat-shaming and antisemitic tweets were found. The bosses at Gay Times briefly suspended and then fired Rivers, in a move which was widely praised by critics.

  • OMG is that actually Hunger Games star Josh Hutcherson’s package

    *Wipes tear from eye*

It has come to our attention that Hunger Games star Josh Hutcherson might just have a totally massive package.

In his latest project, Future Man, on Hulu, the Hollywood star gets fully frontal – in the latest episode he ends up fighting himself – naked… as you do.

Now, of course, we can’t show you the full lot, but click here to have a butchers… For some reasons one of him has an absolute knee brusher of a ding dong – whilst the other is slightly more modest. Either way, you’ll get no argument from us.

There’s no official word on which one if any is real – but there you go.

Oh and for some reason, he’s also caught having a handy shandy – and blasts his man mayo all over another character.

    Bravo. We’ve subscribed…

  • PROBLEM AUNTY | My drunken family will ruin my wedding

The B*tchiest Agony Aunt is back… and ready to help with your wedding problems.

    *She doesn’t really care

    Dear Aunty,

I’m planning a wedding, but fear that it may end up in a terrible mess. My family is known for having a few too many drinks and then getting rowdy and very touchy-feely, whereas my partner’s family is a little more reserved. They are highly religious folks.

    What should I do?

    Corben, Trent

    Dear Corben,

Sounds awfully exciting. I’d invite the eternally judgemental & pious Jeremy Kyle and accompanying TV crew and sell the rights to the ITV morning team for the ensuing drama that is bound to unfurl at your nuptials.

Darling if you need an MC I’m available and contrary to popular belief I’m not particularly expensive. I can even do you a deal if there’s a good bottle of Pinot G with my name on it.

Can I suggest that you ensure that you put the guests most likely to heckle towards the front? There is nothing better than watching the best man die slowly inside as he loses the crowd. Those self-important

Can I also suggest you put guests who are most likely to wear Nylon towards the fire exits? I once had an ‘incident’ with a Nylon wearer, when I was flicking fag ash mid convo.

The good news is she’s still alive and much of her body was saved from 3rd-degree burns thanks to the quick thinking stewards who threw a bucket of sand over her.

As for religious folks, try not to have butt sex in front of them. It tends to upset their blessed little hearts. Instead, try crucifixes on the front lawn. Showing an understanding of their culture will surely put you in their good books.

    Until next time,

    Aunts

Aunty is an unlicensed, unqualified, drunken lush, who wants to hear from you, and you shouldn’t take any of her advice… Ever.
