  • Boy George Joins The Voice

Boy George and Paloma Faith have been named as the newest judges to choice the BBC’s flagship talent show.

Boy George and Paloma Faith will join Will I Am and Ricky Wilson in the new series of The Voice.

Speaking about their new coach roles on The Voice UK, Boy George says:

“I’m thrilled and excited to be a coach on The Voice UK. I’m a huge fan of the show and have watched and engaged with it from series one. If I can help someone to win I will be delighted. What a wonderful opportunity to share my experiences and help someone move forward with their musical career. I can’t wait to sit in that chair!”

    Paloma Faith adds:

“I’m really excited about working with creative people who are there not just to be great singers, but also innovative personalities and performers. I have a long history of helping break artists as in my club nights I booked Kate Nash, Adele, and The Noisettes before they hit the big time, and four of my band members have gone on to pursue successful solo careers. I’m really looking forward to getting my teeth into something that cultivates the talents of another person and takes the focus off myself for a bit.”

The coaches will all be heading to Media City in Salford, Manchester for the blind auditions next month ahead of a new series, which launches on BBC One in January 2016.

They achieved seven straight Top 10 hits in the UK, nine Top 10 singles in the USA and nine Top 20 singles in Australia. They had number 1 singles in over a dozen countries and multi platinum album sales across the world, and were first group since The Beatles to have three Top Ten hits in America from a debut album. • Boy George clashes with One Direction’s Liam Payne

Ah celebrity feuds – usually they’re dull, but when Boy George chooses his victim – he doesn’t do it by halves.

Boy George, who is currently pushing his new album This Is What I Do and tour, has rebooted a Twitter feud between himself and the One Direction camp.

He made the comments during One Direction’s appearance on X Factor over the weekend (15th December 2013)

“Liam looked quite….messy!!” the 52-year-old tweeted, then added: ‘Harry looked like a young Keith Richards!’

Later Liam Payne responded by asking ‘Who Is boy George?’

Boy George couldn’t leave it there, by taking a swipe at Directioners (which is never a good idea) by adding:
‘Directioner’s are mostly the dullest creatures on earth! Add salt!’

To which about a billion Directioners began a Twitter assault on the Culture Club singer. (that’s a lie, there aren’t a billion Directioners… only 999,999,999 of them.)

Earlier in the year Boy George had suggested that at the odds were at least one of One Direction had to be gay.

  • BOY GEORGE: “‘Odds Are One Of One Direction Are Gay”

Boy George reckons at least one of the boys from One Direction are gay and are probably all bisexual.

Iconic singer, Boy George has had a good tongue wagging conversation with the Daily Star about Justin Bieber, Rhianna and the One Direction boys and it seems as though he’s not a fan of the lads either.

‘I wouldn’t know who One Direction were if they fell on my head,’ he joked. “I’m older than them, they should treat me with respect. I blocked all the band, I couldn’t be bothered to hear anything they said but I couldn’t help winding up their fans.

“One tweeted me saying: ‘My mum says you’re a horrible old has-been.’ I tweeted back saying: ‘Your mum’s probably an old, fat ugly bitch.’

Boy George who is due to release his new album ‘This Is What I Do’ on the 28th October, also added,

“The odds are one of One Direction must be gay. I think everyone is a bit bisexual deep down, so the odds are they are probably all bisexual. They’re rock stars so it’s what you’d expect, isn’t it? I’d be disappointed if they weren’t.

“Tattoos don’t make you butch. Look at me.”

  • Boy George makes a come back with “Coming Home”

Legendary singer and DJ is making a comeback with a brand new single called: Coming Home

“I don’t know who I used to be but everyday I’m feeling more like me” sings Boy George on his forthcoming new release ‘Coming Home’ which has its feet firmly on the dance-floor. A cool, chunky house tune crafted by Dharma Protocol, who are legendary producer and one part of The Orb Youth and Moto Blanco’s Danny Harrison, with Culture Club bassist Mikey Craig moonlighting on writing and bass duties. The sound is reminiscent of George’s first dance venture ‘Jesus Loves You’ with early 90s house flavouring and a pop sensibility.
    Says George,

‘Coming Home’ is about returning to who you really are as a person. Some people grow further away from themselves as they get older, while others like me becoming who they are meant to be. Right now I feel very comfortable in my skin. The music I’m making is a reflection of how I feel, which is super positive and focussed. I’ve been writing with Youth and Mikey from Culture Club for my new solo album ‘This Is What I Do’ and ‘Coming Home’ was born out of those writing sessions. I wanted to do something for the dance-floor because I DJ every weekend all over the globe and right now I’m very excited about the direction dance music is taking. The return to more soulful house sits very well with me as a vocalist and I’m currently working on some very interesting dance collaborations.”

‘Coming Home’ comes with mixes from Juan Kidd, already hyped as a summer smash by Prok & Fitch, and further mixes from Psychemagik, Kinky Roland, Marc Vedo and Maze & Masters. It features one of Boy George’s strongest and most soulful vocals and is a hint of things to come.
