    Man brutalised and left unconscious by gang of up to six in homophobic assault

    Detectives investigating a homophobic assault and robbery in Greenwich are appealing for information.

    A man was left with multiple injuries and had his car stolen after he was homophobically assaulted in a London park. Police were called to Vanbrugh Park Road in Blackheath in London at 22:23hrs on Sunday, 7 April following reports of an alleged assault.

    Officers found a 36-year-old man with bleeding and bruising to his face.

    Police are looking for six thugs

    The victim was walking on Blackheath Common, Greenwich, in an area known as Blackheath Dip when he was attacked by a group of around five males, and possibly a female.

    He was repeatedly punched in the face and held around his neck, causing him to lose consciousness. They then dragged him across the ground by his hood and hit his face against the pavement. Throughout the attack, the gang used homophobic words.

    They then stole the victim’s car keys and drove off his white Peugeot 208 Access, which contained his mobile phone and wallet.

    The victim was treated at the scene by paramedics and taken to a hospital. He has since been discharged but is suffering from his injuries and is still in shock.

    One of the males was described as white, with a thin face, thin lips and spoke with a London accent. He was wearing a grey hooded jumper.

    Homophobia was the motivation of this assault

    Investigating officer Detective Constable Adam Pearce, from the South East Command Unit, said, “This was a completely unprovoked and targeted assault and we believe there may be further victims not yet in contact with police.

    “Both the attack and the homophobic motivation of this assault are abhorrent and I appeal to anyone with any information that could assist the investigation to come forward.”

  • Vile thug has homophobic rant at Street Performer in Nottingham

    A street performer known as Disco Bunny has shared footage of him being abused on the streets.

    A performer known as Disco Bunny (Pablo Woodward) was entertaining the crowds in Nottingham city centre when he was set upon by a man in the crowd who took offence to Disco Bunny’s look. The man then proceeded to homophobically abuse the performer and at one point called Woodward a “f**king nonce”.

    The unnamed man repeatedly asked Disco Bunny who he was sexually attracted to in front of a gathering crowd. When Disco Bunny refused to answer the man’s question the thug launched into a foul-mouthed six-minute rant in which he using the words “nonce” and “batty man”. He also said that he didn’t trust the performer with his six-year-old little boy. During the tirade, the man grew more and more agitated and at one point took off his t-shirt.

    Disco Bunny, who travels up and down the country to entertain people in city centres, uploaded the footage on to his Facebook page where it has been viewed over 350,000 times and has been shared nearly 2,500 times.

    The man’s rant drew a shocked crowd who jumped in to defend the performer. At one point two people hold up the rainbow flag behind the street performer. Speaking about his supports Woodward said, “I thank the public for their support and for their respect of my work and each other – and for their restrained behaviour. I bear no grudge.”

    Police in Nottingham have begun an investigation after a hate incident was reported, Police said, “We have spoken to the victim, a 39-year-old man, and are aware that a video of the incident, in which homophobic abuse is shouted, has been shared online and this will be investigated as part of the enquiry,” a statement read.

    “Anyone who witnessed the incident or has any information that could help the enquiry is urged to call Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 729 of 1 April 2019.”

    Police in Manchester say that a 21-year-old man has been charged with robbery, possession of a knife and the stabbing of a man in his 20s after planning a meet on Grindr.

    David Aroge (17/09/1997) of Holden Drive, Swinton has been charged with three counts of robbery, three counts of possession of a bladed article and one count of section 18 assault.

    He has been remanded into custody to appear at Manchester and Salford Magistrates’ Court today, Friday 29 March 2019.

    At around 7 pm on Monday 25 March 2019, a man in his 50s was threatened in his own home in Irlam o’ th’ Height and around an hour later on Bury Old Road in Prestwich, a man in his 40s was threatened and held at knifepoint.

    On Tuesday 26 March 2019, a man in his 20s was threatened and stabbed repeatedly in his car on Bolton Road in Pendlebury.

    Officers have been investigating three separate attempted carjacking incidents that occurred after the victims engaged with a man they had met on the online dating app Grindr.

    At around 7pm on Monday 25 March 2019, a man in his 50s was threatened in his own home in Irlam o’ th’ Height by a man armed with a knife who demanded he hand over his car keys.

    Around an hour later on Bury Old Road in Prestwich, a man in his 40s was held at knifepoint by a man who again demanded his car keys.

    The victim suffered several cuts to his throat, back and forearm and was taken to hospital for treatment. He has since been released and is recovering at home.

    The following day (Tuesday 26 March 2019), the third victim, a man in his 20s, was threatened in his car that was parked on Bolton Road in Pendlebury.

    The alleged attacker, who was a passenger in the car during the assault, stabbed the man several times after demanding he hand over his car keys.

    The man was taken to hospital with serious injuries and remains in a stable condition.

    A 21-year-old man has been arrested on suspicion of robbery and two section 18 assaults. He remains in custody for questioning.

    Man will be questioned by detectives

    Chief Inspector Amanda Delamore, of GMP’s Salford district, said, “We now have a man in custody who will be questioned by my team in the coming hours as our enquiries continue.

    “Our thoughts remain with the three victims who have all been left incredibly shaken by their ordeals and officers will continue to provide them with support at this distressing time.

    “Our investigation does not stop here and I would continue to urge anyone with any information that could assist us to please get in touch with police.”

    Someone is targeting gay men on Grindr, attacking them and trying to steal their cars

    Police are continuing to investigate after three men were attacked by a man they began speaking to on the Grindr online dating application.

    In each of the three incidents in or around Salford, Manchester, the offender also unsuccessfully attempted to steal the victims’ cars.

    The incidents are being treated as linked and police believe the same man is responsible for each of the crimes.

    A CCTV image has been released of a man police want to speak to in connection with the attacks.

    As well as appealing for potential witnesses, officers are directly appealing to users of the Grindr app who may have encountered the man pictured, or fallen victim to someone they met on the application.

    The first victim, a man in his 50s, was threatened in his own home in Irlam o’ th’ Height shortly before 7pm om Monday 25 March 2019 by a man with a knife who demanded that he hand over his car keys. The offender failed to start the car and fled the scene.

    An hour later in Prestwich, a man in his 40s had a knife held to his throat by an offender on Bury Old Road who demanded the victim’s car keys.

    The man received small cuts to his throat, back and forearm and was taken to hospital for treatment, where he remains in a stable condition.

    The third man, aged in his 20s, was attacked at around 5.45pm on Tuesday 26 March 2019.

    He was threatened by a man who was a passenger in his car on Bolton Road, Pendlebury as they were parked on the roadside. He demanded he hand over his car keys before stabbing him several times.

    The attacker then fled the scene on foot in the direction of Birch Drive towards High Bank Road.

    The victim remains in hospital with serious injuries that are not believed to be life threatening.

    “Attacks became progressively more violent”

    Chief Inspector Amanda Delamore of GMP’s Salford Division said, “We believe that the same person is responsible for these premediated acts of violence.

    “The injuries inflicted upon these men became progressively more violent with each attack and it’s imperative that anyone with information on these crimes contact us immediately.

    “As well as appealing for witnesses, I’d like to appeal to anyone who uses Grindr and recognises the man in the image we’ve released to get in touch as a matter of urgency.

    “Like other forms of online communication; dating applications carry risks.

    “We’d urge people to be cautious when agreeing to meet strangers they have been speaking to online.

    “Always meet someone new in a public place first, let someone know where you’re going and never give out personal information to someone you’ve just met.”

    Police in Greater Manchester are looking a man in connection to a horrific stabbing of a man in his car, after using a gay dating app.

    The victim, who is in his 20s was stabbed several times by a man he had planned to meet on a dating app, police in Manchester have said.

    The police have released a CCTV image of a man they’d like to speak to in connection to the incident.

    At around 5.45pm on Tuesday 26 March 2019), a man in his 20s was threatened in his car on Bolton Road in Pendlebury by a man he had met up with earlier this afternoon via an online dating app.

    The alleged offender, who was a passenger in the car, threatened the man as they were parked on the roadside and demanded his victim hand over his car keys before stabbing him several times.

    The attacker then fled the scene on foot in the direction of Birch Drive towards High Bank Road, police say.

    The victim was taken to hospital with serious injuries and he remains there for treatment.

    This incident is being linked to two other carjacking attempts that occurred yesterday (Monday 25 March 2019) in Irlams o’ th’ Height, Salford and Prestwich.

    Three dating app attacks have occurred

    Detectives have released a CCTV image of a man they want to speak to as part of their enquiries.

    Detective Inspector Gareth Jenkins, of GMP’s Salford district, said: “This is now the third attack following an attempted carjacking after an online dating app meeting and we’re working hard to find the man responsible.

    “We have a CCTV image of a man we want to speak to as part of our investigation and I would appeal directly to the man to get in touch with us.

    “We would also continue to encourage people using dating apps to always meet new people in public places and to let someone know where you’re going.

    “If you have any information that could assist our investigation or if you recognise the man pictured, please get in touch as soon as possible.”

    Man stabbed in Soho dies from his injuries

    Police in London have launched a murder investigation after a man who was stabbed in the heart of Soho dies.

    A man who was stabbed in Soho, London has died from his injuries. Although police have said that they don’t believe the vicious attack to be a hate or homophobic crime, the stabbing happened in the centre of London’s LGBT+ scene.

    On Sunday, 3 March just after 6:00 AM  police were called to Romily Street, in W1.

    Officers attended along with the London Ambulance Service and found the 37-year-old man suffering stab injuries. He was taken to hospital with critical injuries and he was pronounced dead at 19:42 hours on Wednesday, 6 March.

    His family are aware of the victim’s death. Formal identification awaits.

    A post mortem examination is due to be held in due course.

    A murder investigation has now commenced which is being led by Detective Chief Inspector Katherine Goodwin.

    A 34-year-old man was charged on Monday, 4 March with two counts of attempted murder, in relation to this incident along with another stabbing on the same day, of a teenager which occurred in University Street, WC1.

    The charge for attempted murder will be subject to a review by the CPS.

    A 41-year-old woman who was arrested remains released under investigation.

    Noxious substance thrown in the face of two men in ‘homophobic assault’

    Police in London are looking to speak with victims of a suspected homophobic assault where a corrosive substance was thrown in the faces of the victims.

    Police were called to McDonald’s on Brixton Road, SW9 at 04:00hrs on Saturday, 19 January following reports of an unknown substance being sprayed in the face of two men.

    Officers attended and found two 22-year-old men who said they had been attacked at a bus stop.

    Police report that the men advised they had been sprayed in the face with a noxious substance, believed to be pepper spray, by a man in a hate crime attack.

    The men were treated at the scene by paramedics and did not require hospital treatment.

    Two other men were allegedly attacked in a similar assault 20 minutes earlier.

    Detectives investigating the assault have identified that two other men may have been the victims of a similar assault in a nearby KFC 20 minutes earlier on the same night.

    Man stabbed in Soho has “life threatening” injuries

    A man and a woman have been arrested in connection with two linked stabbing on Sunday, 3 March.

    Police are linking two stabbings in the nation’s capital today after one man was left with “life threatening” injuries” in Soho and a boy, 16, was stabbed in Camden, just hours apart.

    Police were called just after 6:00 AM on Sunday, 3 March, to a seriously injured man in Romilly Street, W1.

    Officers attended along with London Ambulance Service and found the 37-year-old man suffering stab injuries. He was taken to hospital where his condition is being treated as life-threatening.

    An immediate investigation was launched by detectives from Central West CID.

    A woman, aged in her 40s was arrested near to the scene. She has been taken to a central London police station where she remains in custody.

    A crime scene was put in place, forensic work commenced and enquiries undertaken to identify any relevant witnesses or CCTV.

    Another male stabbed, Camden

    Later that morning, at 11:36hrs, police in Camden were called to a teenager stabbed in University Street, WC1.

    Emergency services attended the scene where the 16-year-old victim was taken to hospital. His wounds have also been assessed as life-threatening.

    A man, aged in his 30s was arrested near to the scene in connection with the Camden stabbing. He was further arrested a short time later on suspicion of attempted murder in Romilly Street, which is the heart of London’s LGBT Scene.

    The arrested man has been taken to hospital having told officers that he had swallowed a quantity of drugs. Police are awaiting an assessment of his condition.

    Enquiries continue to establish the full circumstances of both incidents.

    At this stage, nobody else is sought in connection with either of these incidents.

    There is nothing to suggest that these crimes are related to homophobia at this time.

    A man has been hospitalised after a stabbing in London’s Soho.

    A man in his 30s has been attacked and stabbed in the centre of London‘s gay scene on  Romilly Street, early Sunday morning.

    The status of the man has not been made public, although the police have revealed that he sustained “serious injuries”.

    Earlier this morning, police and paramedics were called to reports of a stabbing in Romilly Street in Soho at about 6 AM.

    A crime scene has been established as detectives begin their investigations.

    The motive of the attack has not been made known and details about the victim remain private at this time.

    One person, a woman in her 40s has been arrested.

    This is a developing story.

    Former X Factor singer Bradley Hunt has shared a horrific story and pictures from a homophobic attack he sustained while dancing to Britney Spears in a nightclub.

    Bradley Hunt has hit out at homophobes by sharing horrific pictures from a homophobic attack at a nightclub from a man who took issue with the way he was dancing to Britney Spear’s ‘Toxic’.

    The star spoke about he was left with a black eye and a missing tooth after the vicious attack from a man he said took offence to the way Bradley was dancing.

    The reality star said, “I was dancing in Pop World to Britney Spears, I was flicking my neck, doing my dance moves and this guy came up to me. He said, ‘Can you stop dancing like that?’

    “Now I think he was trying to show off to some girls, something like that, and I’m thinking, ‘babes, the girls are loving my dancing. Like, they ain’t bothered at you trying to put me down, you ain’t gonna get a girl that way. Just saying’.

    “Anyway, I said to him, ‘don’t tell me what to do’, and I thought, you don’t tell somebody what to do, especially in a club – it’s Pop World! You don’t tell someone to stop dancing like that, I’m sorry, if you don’t like it, go somewhere else.

    “The pain absolutely killed”

    “Then came the smash right into the nose, then two of his mates on either side ricocheting, punching, thumping me, I’ve never been hit before and the pain absolutely killed.”

    Getting emotional, he continued “I had an instant headache and I absolutely panicked, I was screaming. I ran to the bar crying, I can feel one of teeth half of it in my hands, blood. I jumped over the bar because I was so scared, ran down to the beer cellar and was on the floor in tears, panicking. Obviously, I was drunk and it just came as a shock to me.

    Arrested

    “I called the police, they came and actually managed to find one of them around the corner and arrested him. And he stayed in the cell for a night but other than that nothing really happened. I did a statement at the police station but what can you do?”

    He added, “Homophobia’s still here. With me, some people recognise me so there’s a level of, they can say a joke, the can stare, they can laugh, that’s fine. I’ve been on the TV, I was the joke act, you can laugh and stare. But when people say ‘batty boy’, ‘queer’ or anything like that, or try and intimidate me, Nah. I don’t tolerate it.”
