    Famed director, Hugh Wilson has died at the age of 74

    The director of camp classic First Wives Club and the first Police Academy film has died at the age of 74, friends of the director have confirmed.

    First Wives Club starred gay icon, Bette Midler, Goldie Hawn and Diane Keaton and has since become a cult classic amongst the gay community.

    Wilson died at his home over the weekend in Albemarle County, Virginia. He was ill at the time of his death.

    His last film credit was for Mickey in 2004.

    Wilson was married to Charters Smith in 1979. Together they have five children.

    The Apprentice star, Andrew Brady is in the Celebrity Big Brother house and his flirting with Shane J / Courtney Act is making some viewers wonder whether he’s gay, bi or straight.

    Apprentice star Andrew Brady, 26,  has been finding himself in some very cosy moments with drag queen Courtney Act, also known as, Shane J. However despite his onscreen flirtations with Shane, Andrew identifies as straight.

    What’s more, he apparently has a girlfriend outside the CBB house.

    However when pressed about his attraction to Courtney Andrew told Big Brother, “Courtney’s only ever out when we’ve had a few drinks, Courtney looks even better”.

    The closeness between Shane J and Andrew has caused some viewers of Channel 5’s CBB to speculate about Andrew’s sexuality. Andrew has maintained that he is straight – although does find Courtney Act, Shane’s drag persona to be quite attractive.

    Bromance or Romance: The flirty couple shares an intimate bath together and find lots to laugh about. Their closeness on the latest series has viewers wondering if something romantic could happen between the pair.

    Continuing about his attraction to the drag queen, he said, “I’m not taking anything away from Shane, he’s a good-looking lad, but when you’ve had a couple of drinks, you see Courtney and you’re like, ‘Wow.’”

    He then begged Big Brother to keep him away from booze, saying he didn’t know what would happen if he was to get drunk. He continued, “Big Brother, you need to stop giving me alcohol when I’m around Courtney, because you never know!”

    Cheeky arse slap. Andrew gives Shane’s tush a quick slap in a show of affection between the two housemates.

    Of course, this isn’t the first time a bromance has been struck between two guys in Celebrity Big Brother, in 2015, out housemate, Austin Armacost struck a very cosy relationship with straight-identified James Hill, who would go on to win the series.

     

     

  • India Willoughby is the first evictee from Celebrity Big Brother

    Controversial housemate, India Willoughby is the first housemate to be evicted from Celebrity Big Brother.

    On Tuesday night, Emma Willis entered the Celebrity Big Brother house and surprised the sixteen housemates with live face-to-face nominations. The girls voted in a showdown that left India and Jonny up for the public vote.

    Since Tuesday, viewers have been voting to save either India or Jonny. Tonight, in the first live eviction of the series, Emma revealed live to the house that India received the fewest votes and would be the first housemate to leave Celebrity Big Brother January 2018.

    After saying goodbye to her fellow housemates, India was greeted to cheers from the crowd.

    Emma asked if India expected to be nominated, “I sensed it in the room actually. The whole three bears episode. Honestly, that was another big mistake. I watch Big Brother every year and I know it’s crucial to get a good bed because obviously sleep is a big issue in there. Paramount in my head, as soon as I got in the house, I wanted a single bed. It was just one of those things; I didn’t see that it was Ann’s bed.”

    Asked if she thought the outcome would have been different if the male housemates were able to nominate, India told Emma, “I don’t think so. I think I peeved them off on the first night that they came in with that question about gender and love. That got their hackles up a little bit. My tactics were all over the place.”

    Emma asked if she went in there to play a game, and India replied, “I was psyched up to mix it a little bit. Maybe have some confrontations; just stir things up, cause a little bit of trouble. But it’s not that sort of house.”

    When asked about Shane J, India told Emma, “Shane in there has been terrific. He’s a great guy, we’ll stay friends after this show.”

    Emma asked India about Ashley and Ginuwine, “I don’t think it is a showmance, honestly. It is genuine that they like each other. The eye contact is consistent.”

    India wants Shane J to win, “for me, he’s the star of the show.”

  • Underwear company Andrew Christian is facing a boycott after Tom Daley leak

    Famed underwear company, Andrew Christian is facing a boycott from angry consumers after it blasted its mailing list with the nude leaks alleged to be of diver Tom Daley.

    Customers vented their anger at the clothing company, accusing them of using the leaked pictures as a marketing tool, some even suggested that the Olympic medalist should even take legal action against the company that was founded by Andrew Christian, himself.

    The email was met with disgust from some on social media.

     

    Andrew Christian often uses its mailing list to direct potential customers to its blog or “feed” and often hosted stories of leaks or pictures of near-naked men. Other times the mailing list is used to notify subscribers of deals and money off offers.

    The link contained in the email about Tom Daley now forwards users to a 404 page.

    THEGAYUK.com reached out Andrew Christian for comment asking if the Andrew Christian brand had received a take-down notice from Tom Daley’s legal representatives and whether Andrew Christian himself feels that it is right to utilise personal, private leaked photos of someone for marketing purposes.

     

     

     

  • Rebekah Shelton not dead: culprit of hoax “will pay”

    “The person who wants to spoil my happiness is going to pay for it”

    Earlier we reported that the Rebekah Shelton, star of Big Brother in 2009 had died, it turns out, thankfully, that she is alive and well and living in Dubai.

    Taking to Twitter she deleted the previous tweet in which her death was announced and replaced it with “I’m not dead!!!!!! Please stop spreading this news!!!!! My lawyer is already working on this and this person who wants to spoil my happiness is going to pay for it!!!!!”

  • Transgender star of Big Brother dies unexpectedly

    The star of 2009’s series of Big Brother Rekebah Shelton has died unexpectedly

    Rebekah Shelton, who fans of the show may remember her when she entered the house as Rodrigo Lopes, has died unexpectedly at the age of 32. The news was confirmed by a Tweet from her official, verified Twitter account. Rekebah was, according to her Twitter account living in Dubai.

    A tweet from her personal account read, “We’re sorry to inform everyone of the sad news that our wonderful and lovely Rebekah died unexpectedly on Wednesday night.

    “We ask that you respect the family’s privacy at this time.”

    Ms Shelton hadn’t been using the platform much in 2017. Her last update was in November when she updated her profile picture (ABOVE). The tweet before that was sent in June and said, “Im [sic] sending this tweet to you people who still like me for some reason. People from the UK who always loved and accepted me for who I am”.

    Rebekah Shelton transitioned in 2012. Speaking about her transition she said, “I always felt like I had a woman inside of me, always, but I used to hide it. I’ve always liked make-up, treatments and other womanly things, and I was 18 when I first started experimenting. But early this year I told my best friend Andrea how I was really feeling.

    “She encouraged me. When I came back to the UK I started wearing my friends’ clothes first, then I began shopping for them”.

    Emotional about transition

    In early 2017 an emotional Shelton shared a video on Twitter over her confusion and upset over her transition. Speaking via Twitter, in Tweets that she’s now deleted, she spoke of her journey, since embarking on a series of operations to fulfil her transition. She spoke of her loneliness and the discrimination she’s faced since beginning her physical transition.

    She was left questioning whether the transition was worth it.

    The videos were uploaded after she managed to log into her old Rodrigo Facebook account and left the star feeling emotional. She said,

    “I went on, after five years, I was trying to find the Facebook account, as Rodrigo, you know, from the past. I was shocked, it’s hard to go through everything I’ve been through – having all these surgeries and things. It’s crazy when you look at yourself and the way you used to be, and it makes you wonder, what have I done?”

    “If you are following me and you want to transition, think. Think, once, twice, three times, four times, five times, because it’s not easy. You have more opportunities in your birth gender because there is still discrimination. There is still discrimination, you know so just think.”

     

    Ill Health and Coma

    In 2014 the star fell into a coma after it was discovered she had a brain tumour.

    Taking to Shelton’s official Twitter her family tweeted, ‘The doctors found a head tumour and she is in come [sic]. We cannot speak anymore. Please just pray for our Rebekah’

    The cause of Shelton’s death is unknown at this time.

    What does heteronormative mean?

    Heteronormative, or heteronormativity is a word used a lot in connection with the LGBT experience. It refers to what is normally (normative) expected from society – which is, by and large, made up of mostly heterosexuals (hetero).

    So when you blast those two words together you get one that describes the normal, average way of doing things. Basically the stuff of Hollywood movies: boy meets girl, they fall in love, make children and the cycle continues.

    It is also defined as the view that promotes a heterosexual lifestyle as the normal or preferred sexual orientation and that others are wrong or deviant.

    It’s the idea that men and women fall into two very neat and distinct genders and sexuality roles.

    It is seen, largely, as deeply marginalising by the LGBTI community.

    It was coined or at least popularised by Michael Warner in 1991.

    Heteronormative behaviour could include:

    • Getting married (to someone of the opposite sex) in a Church, with bridesmaids, Father of bride and best man speeches…
    • Him climbing up the corporate ladder while she stays at home having kids.
    • Following gender expectations like: He wears trousers, she wears dresses (frilly ones with a lace hem).
    • He earns more, she makes super desserts using Angel Delight.
    • Asking why on earth the gays need a god damned pride and why can’t straights have a pride.
    • Watching a Hollywood movie knowing that the guy saves the day, gets the girl and live happily ever after.
    • Having 2.4 children.
    • That men don’t do nappies.
    • Picket fences and all that…

    As you can see, from my not so exhaustive list that basically being heteronormative is like living in the 50s. Fantastic for brand new cookers, fridges, the dawn of the jet age and brand new inventions, not so good for living your life how you’d like to – straight or gay, male or female.

    Intersex stands for a sex variance between the binary of male and female, or Cisgender.

    Generally speaking, Cisgender people are those whose gender identity or expression conforms with their biological sex or birth sex.

    The Oxford Dictionary of English once determined the word Intersex to mean:

    the abnormal condition of being intermediate between male and female; hermaphroditism.

    Old usage and out of date terminology.

    Hermaphrodite is generally considered a taboo word and shouldn’t be ascribed to someone unless they label themselves as such.

    Intersex and the trans community

    Trans Media Watch describes Intersex as an individual in whom genetic, hormonal and physical features that may be thought typical of both male and female co-exist.

    Power Bottoms are those who dominate in sex but are those who enjoy receiving anal sex – or someone who can power through and take the *D* for a long time.

    What does bottom mean?

    What or who is a Bottom in terms of gay sex?

    Well, it could mean a variety of things to a variety of people, but generally, the “bottom” is the guy who is the receptive partner in anal sex. Although it could be a label for someone who is more sub within sex.

    So the guy who’s underneath (or on top if you’re doing the cowboy) is known as the “bottom”. The giver is known as the “Top”. Not everybody likes the terms “top” or “bottom” for some being a bottom is seen as less than, more subservient or more effeminate, but some, like Big Brother US star Ragan Fox have empowered the word and meaning by calling themselves, “power bottoms”.

    More recently, when Nurse Jackie star, Haaz Sleiman came out as gay he totally owned the bottom thing saying, “Not only am I a bottom, but I’m also a total bottom, which means I like it up you-know-where.”

    Otherwise, you could go with giver and givee, catcher and pitcher or just their names… (no labels!)

    Apparently, there’s quite a bit of stigma attached to being a bottom. A survey found sixty per cent of readers thought that there was or weren’t sure if there was a stigma attached to bottoming or being the receiving partner during penetrative sex. Only 40 per cent said no there wasn’t a stigma.
