  • Strictly Come Dancing Stars Announced

    The BBC is gearing up for what is promised to be the best series of Strictly Come Dancing yet and there is some impressive talent lined up.

    Girls Aloud singer Kimberly Walsh has become the latest celeb to be officially confirmed as a contestant on this year’s Strictly Come Dancing.

    She’s taken to the micro-social network Twitter to Tweet her excitement on joining the show and about her training.

    Other celebrities confirmed are Sid Owen (former Eastenders) Denise van Outen, Nicky Byrne (Westlife), Jerry Hall was spotted in a not convincing or effective disguise arriving for training last week.

    The Daily Mail reported that Olympians Victoria Pendleton and Louis Smith are joining the dancing team.

    The show is being presenting again by TV legend Bruce Forsyth with Tess Daly and the judges are confirmed as: Darcey Bussell, Len Goodman, Craig Revel and Bruno Tonioli

  • X FACTOR: Loopy Spice

    Gay Icon Geri Halliwell joins the judging panel of the UK’s favourite talent competition and the other judges have labelled her ‘Loopy’.

    Tulisa Contostavlos tells the cameras:

    “Geri loves to talk… Geri, you’re loopy! She’s just a nutter.”

    While Louis Walsh joked:

    “Geri talks and talks and talks and talks and talks and talks… talking, talking, more talking.”

     

    The 40 year old Spice Girl is no stranger to X Factor having been a guest judge in a previous season.

    The question is will Geri have a better response to her band mate Mel B who was labelled ‘Grumpy Spice’ by the media.

    So we’ve had Grump, Loopy, what other names can we rebrand the Spice Girls with?

  • Taboo Comes To Brixton

    The ground-breaking, genre twisting musical returns to London for a September at the Brixton Club House.

    The musical based on a nightclub called Taboo and London club legend Leigh Bowery makes a return to London. A new production of the musical written by Boy George will be playing for a three month run at the Brixton Club House. The first run of the show was held by audience and critics alike as sensational and not to be missed.

    It will star The Voice finalist Samuel Buttery as Leigh Bowery.

  • Gay Films Selected For BFI London Film Festival

    After the success of last year’s LFF, with the UK premieres of British breakout success WEEKEND, Tribeca winner SHE MONKEYS and Cannes Queer Palme winner, BEAUTY, Peccadillo Pictures are proud to announce that we have two films officially selected for this year’s BFI London Film Festival, which takes place from the 10th – 21st October.

    These include the stunning KEEP THE LIGHTS ON from acclaimed director Ira Sachs (Forty Shades of Blue) and this year’s official Cannes Un Certain Regard entry, OUR CHILDREN starring A PROPHET’s Tahar Rahim, Niels Arestrup, with a blistering performance from Emilie Dequenne (Rosetta), who took home the Un Certain Regard Best Actress prize at this year’s Cannes Film Festival.

    Both films will have theatrical releases in 2012 and 2013, respectively.
