  • Is There A Budding Bromance Between James Hill And Austin Armacost?

Things look like they’re hotting up between former Apprentice star, James Hill and Austin Armacost.

Despite James Hill identifying as straight and Austin Armacost being married there’s an undeniable closeness that has grown between the two celebs. It wouldn’t be the first time that a straight and gay man became close during a Big Brother season. In the US version of the show Ariana Grande’s brother, Frankie Grande found a budding bromance with Zach Rance.

From James sticking up for Austin when Tila threatened to turn him straight, to the pair becoming the first celebs to strip off in the house, to the pair sharing a bath time together, the lads have certainly clicked.

However James drew the line at massaging Austin’s hamstring… It has to be said, we’ve tried that ploy before…

  • X FACTOR Ratings Down, Celebrity Big Brother Levelled

Ratings for ITV’s flagship singing competition were down for the launch show, by a whopping 2 million – so were all the changes worth it?

With half a new judging panel including openly gay Nick Grimshaw the latest viewing figures don’t make for good reading despite all the usual talk of change, upping the game and far-reaching promo for the new series. The new judging panel includes Rita Ora, Nick Grimshaw and Simon Cowell. Cheryl Fernandez-Versini joins the panel despite being voted by Heat readers as the panellist they’d least like to see return.

X Factor’s first show suffered a near 2 million audience drop, year on year, taking 7.11 million viewers from 8PM. In 2014 the first show received 9.03 million viewers. However, the show did dominate Saturday night TV with nearly 40% audience share.

Celebrity Big Brother’s debut on Channel 5 was watched by 2.2 million people, which is just down on the 2.4 million people who watched the previous year’s launch.

  • Austin Armacost And James Hill Strip Off On The First Night

It’s just the first night and already our celebrities are stripping off.

Hottie openly gay Austin Armacost and former Apprentice star James Hill stripped off for a cheeky dip in the pool.

As things heated up in the Celebrity Big Brother between the new arrivals, James and Austin stripped off to show their trunks styles for a dip in the pool.

Austin had to fend off advances from Tila Tequila, who asked if she could change his sexuality from gay to straight and threatened to “sit on his face.”

  • Tila Tequila Removed From The House Over Social Media Comments

Myspace celebrity Tila Tequila has been removed from the Big Brother house after comments that she released on social media made her position in the house “untenable”

A spokesperson for Channel 5 said,

“Unfortunately, Channel 5 and Endemol did not know about the views and attitudes Tila had expressed in social media postings prior to her involvement in Celebrity Big Brother.

When they were brought to our attention, she was called to the Diary Room for a discussion with producers and was subsequently removed from the house.

The views Tila had expressed, and permitted to remain uncorrected, are totally unacceptable and, accordingly, her continued involvement in the programme was untenable.”

In December 2013 Tila had her Facebook account closed because of a “pro-Hitler” article called “Why I Sympathize with Hitler: Part I”.

The MySpace star argued that her article was not anti-Semitic, and was instead a tribute to “a man who was not a coward, [but] stood up for his country in a DESPERATE TIME OF NEED”.

She posted comments and a picture of herself in a Nazi costume in front of a picture of Auschwitz. Her page has been re-instated, and she has over 2 million likes.

  • CELEBRITY BIG BROTHER HOUSE: 12 Details Not To Miss

CELEBRITY BIG BROTHER HOUSE: 12 Details Not To Miss

The house, the house… it’s all a bit of a designer’s paradise. So here’s some lovely little details we loved about the new Big Brother house…

The designers have gone to town on the Americana and Britishness of this year’s house design. We take a look at our favourite parts.

It’s all Red white and blue, I mean of course we share a common language, but we also share the same flag colours – which is handy… It’s always nice to share a colour palette.

    1) Lounge

    (C)THEGAYUK

The centre of the house is the lounge complete with circular sofa – on one side the theme is US the other is UK. Is that sneaky Big Bro trying to cause a divide by suggestion?

    2) Kitchen

    (C)THEGAYUK

The milkshakes are fake. Sorry but they are. Plastic. Like any of the celebs perhaps???

    3) Diary Room

    (C)THEGAYUK

The Big Brother chair is huge and the room is actually massive

    4) Toilet

    (C)THEGAYUK

Just a bog standard bog. Totally boring.

    5) Bathroom

    (C)THEGAYUK

Nope this is not a UFO it’s a sink

    6) Lighting

    (C)THEGAYUK

Top and bowler hats light the way for the celebrities

    7) Exit

    (C)THEGAYUK

There’s an emergency exit… You know just in case a celeb needs to run for the hills.

    8) Plugs

    (C)THEGAYUK

God knows why, but there are plugs… The celebs can’t bring anything into the house that needs a plug, but there are plugs. Can you spot them?

    9) Vanity Area

    (C) THEGAYUK

Big Brother has provided hairdryers and hair straighteners. That’s where we’d be spending most of our time.

    10) Closet

    (C)THEGAYUK

    There’s lots of closet room.

    11) Comfort

    (C)THEGAYUK

There’s a little bit of fluffy carpet, other than that it’s all pretty hard surfaces.

    12) Pool

    (C)THEGAYUK

It may look inviting, but the pool is only just warm. But just like a service station coffee, you wouldn’t want to go swimming in it.

  • Celebrity Big Bro House Gets A US Vs UK Make Over

The brand new Celebrity Big Brother has been revealed and it’s distinctively Red, White And Blue as Big Brother smashes the UK and USA together.

As these pictures show Celebrity Big Brother has gone all Red, White and Blue, underpinned with quintessential British accents and lots of Americana thrown in for good measure.

Although Rylan has kept tight-lipped about who exactly is due to appear in the house when the new series starts next week, he did say he was much happier to be a spectator rather than participating.

  • Boy George Joins The Voice

Boy George and Paloma Faith have been named as the newest judges to choice the BBC’s flagship talent show.

Boy George and Paloma Faith will join Will I Am and Ricky Wilson in the new series of The Voice.

Speaking about their new coach roles on The Voice UK, Boy George says:

“I’m thrilled and excited to be a coach on The Voice UK. I’m a huge fan of the show and have watched and engaged with it from series one. If I can help someone to win I will be delighted. What a wonderful opportunity to share my experiences and help someone move forward with their musical career. I can’t wait to sit in that chair!”

    Paloma Faith adds:

“I’m really excited about working with creative people who are there not just to be great singers, but also innovative personalities and performers. I have a long history of helping break artists as in my club nights I booked Kate Nash, Adele, and The Noisettes before they hit the big time, and four of my band members have gone on to pursue successful solo careers. I’m really looking forward to getting my teeth into something that cultivates the talents of another person and takes the focus off myself for a bit.”

The coaches will all be heading to Media City in Salford, Manchester for the blind auditions next month ahead of a new series, which launches on BBC One in January 2016.

  • New Trailer From X FACTOR Is Here and It Is A Bit Creepy

Wow… there’s something extremely disturbing about the new X FACTOR promo released by ITV.

Deep underground, we’re thinking it’s actually Simon Cowell’s lair, Caroline Flack and Olly Murs discover the factory that is in charge of the secret formula for winning the UK’s biggest Karaoke competition, proving the countdown to Christmas is nearly here.

Nick Grimshaw, who is a “new judge from scratch” is fitted with a microchip which makes him sound like Louis Walsh, where as Cheryl has been turned into a robot, which looks very convincing.

Finally, Simon Cowell is absolutely sure he’s found the winner of this year’s competition.

  • Who Is Rumoured To Be Going Into The Celebrity Big Brother House?

With a theme that suggests a continuation of USA Vs. UK are we likely to see a mix of American and British talent go head to head to win Summer CBB 2015?

There’s lots of noise and hubbub (yep we said hubbub) about who is actually going into the Summer Celebrity Big Brother house and we’re excited.

    Here’s who’s rumoured…

    UK:

    Tom Daley

Tom is no stranger to a bit of reality TV having starred in Splash! and Around The World With Daley
    Dean Gaffney
Famous for his dog, Wellhard in EastEnders, Dean is a bookies favourite to be entering into CBB
    Tulisa
She’s not afraid of a bit of confrontation as we found out in XFACTOR, which is no bad thing in the world of CBB.
    Dan Osborne

Dan would bring his abs and bum to the table.

    Carol Vorderman

Basically as pointed out in W1A if CBB has snagged Carol they’ve struck gay oil…

    USA:

    Janice Dickinson

JD will up the campness to anything she stars in.

    David Gest

    Ditto for David…

    Kathy Griffin

When gay planets collide you get Kathy.

    Jenna Jameson

    Basically, we have no idea…

    Hulk Hogan

    Just for the memories

  • Meet The Bake Off Contenders

12 Men and Women around the UK are about to embark on a competition to see who can get their puff pastry just so.

As they ready to whip, strain and peel back the clingfilm on their ready meals we meet the 12 contenders to join Mel and Sue, to impress the judges Mary Berry & Paul Hollywood

    From left to right:

    Alvin – age 37

Alvin is originally from the Philippines, and works as a nurse in Berkshire, where he lives with his wife and their two children. He’s constantly jotting down everything from recipes to techniques so he can pass all his knowledge on to them both as they grow up. Seven years ago, he questioned why he was buying bread and cakes when he had an oven. And now he bakes at least four times a week and owns every tin imaginable – much to his wife’s amusement. A true perfectionist, Alvin once baked bread every day for three weeks until he believed he’d got it right.

    Flora – age 19

At 19, Flora is this year’s youngest baker. An old head on young shoulders, Flora’s an assistant at a contemporary art gallery while she waits to start her history of art degree. Flora lives at home with her parents and two younger sisters in the Scottish countryside, 20 minutes from the nearest shop. But she always makes sure the larder is stocked, and regularly bakes cakes and loaves for the family, often filling the freezer up with ingredients. Flora comes from a big family of bakers and can’t remember ever not baking. But standards have to be high to impress her harshest critics – her sisters.

    Mat – age 37

Mat began baking three years ago in between shifts as a London fire fighter. He’s now mastered not only simple cakes and biscuits but bread, pastries and pies. Preferring sweet over savoury baking, Mat calls himself a “competent amateur” who “learns every time he bakes”. Mat lives with his wife in London. He says his greatest ambition is to own a dishwasher.

    Sandy – age 49

Sandy is a child welfare officer who lives and works near Bradford. Mother of one, Sandy says that she bakes to show her family, friends and colleagues that she cares about them. Sandy started baking as a child and likens her style to the way she’d describe herself: “it might not be glamorous but it’s tasty”. In her job, she helps young people with emotional issues and after work Sandy also volunteers at the school, running a cookery club where she teaches children from deprived backgrounds to bake on a budget.

    Ian – age 41

Ian lives in Cambridgeshire with his wife and two children. He’s a travel photographer and has the honour of being the Dalai Lama’s personal snapper when he visits the UK. In recent years, Ian’s become more of a househusband and while his wife heads to work he often spends his days making giant catapults and zip wires for his children to play with. He started baking six years ago because he wanted them to have fresh bread every day. Ian’s passion for foraging and travelling the world mean he’s never afraid to bake with an unusual discovery from his garden – or much further afield.

    Paul – age 49

Paul lives in Wales and has been a prison governor for eight years. Before that, he performed ceremonial duties at Buckingham Palace in the Coldstream Guards. He sees being in The Great British Bake Off as “an opportunity to show that men like me, stereotyped by our jobs, do and can love baking and that it is a skill and talent to be proud of”. He may have a demanding, authoritative job, but Paul enjoys learning intricate skills like sugar-work to make his bakes beautiful. When not baking, Paul loves the outdoors and exploring the Welsh countryside with his wife and three sons.

    Tamal – age 29

Tamal is a trainee anaesthetist working at a hospital in Manchester. He grew up in Hertfordshire where his parents moved from India in the 1960s. His older sister played a big part in bringing him up and taught him to bake. She gave Tamal the ultimate compliment when he was asked to bake her wedding cake. Since then, he is regularly asked to bake family and friends’ wedding cakes too – the largest one was five tiers.

    Ugne – age 32

While baking is her main hobby, Ugne is also a bodybuilder. Originally from Lithuania, Ugne now lives in Essex with her partner, also a bodybuilder, and their two young children, and works as a PA and administrator. Ugne learnt to bake from her mother and grandmother, who used Eastern European baking methods and utensils. She loves English baking and each day makes her family bread, pies and pastries, but also likes to incorporate traditional Lithuanian flavours into her bakes to remind her of home. Ugne enjoys being ambitious with her presentation and ingredients – and isn’t afraid of the odd theatrical bake.

    Dorret – age 53

Dorret’s family are from the West Indies but she grew up in Preston and works as an accountant. A self-confessed foodie, Dorret has been baking for 40 years and enjoys tap dancing, ballet and salsa to counteract the calories she consumes. Dorret and her husband regularly visit Michelin-starred restaurants for inspiration and ideas for their next culinary experiment, and often host dinner parties to impress their friends with their skills. Mother to her 21-year-old daughter, Dorret’s dream is to go to the Cordon Bleu school in Paris.

    Nadiya – age 30

Nadiya has been baking for 10 years after wondering why her father only served ice cream for dessert at his restaurant. Her family is originally from Bangladesh, where desserts aren’t a big feature of mealtimes, but encouraged by a school home economics teacher, Nadiya now delivers beautiful masterpieces at family occasions. Born in Luton, she now lives in Leeds with her husband and is full time mum to their three children. Having put her career on the backburner to devote her life to her family, with their support she now feels inspired to have her own adventure – and make them proud.

    Stu – age 35

Stu’s a professional musician and has toured the world as lead singer of his band. He lives in Surrey with his wife and two children and has been baking from a young age. He used to watch his parents in the restaurant kitchen they owned and was always amazed by the magic of the oven and “how something liquid could go in and out would come this fluffed-up awesomeness”. He is confident with most genres of baking and is fascinated by the science of it all. He enjoys trialling different flavour combinations, especially Middle Eastern spices.

    Marie – age 66

Marie was entered for The Great British Bake Off by her daughter, but her children claim at one point when they were growing up their mum couldn’t even boil an egg – so Marie’s come a long way. The turning point came in her thirties when Marie moved to Paris with her family and was inspired by all the French Patisseries. She fell in love with baking, specialising in elaborate, show-stopping decorations. But Marie also likes simple baking too and makes bread so her grandchildren can have “proper packed lunches”.

Bake Off begins on August 5th at 8:00PM

  • NICK GRIMSHAW Leads The Way For X FACTOR Auditions

It all starts here as Cheryl, Rita, Simon and Nick Grimshaw open the auditions in Manchester.

Nick Grimshaw, the openly gay Radio 1 presenter looked refreshed and happy at the launch event for X FACTOR 2016.

Greeted by a throng of fans, the 50% new judging panel, which includes Rita Ora, Cheryl, Nick and Simon beamed as they took selfies and signed autographs.

Louis Walsh was dumped / or left, depending on which paper you read, earlier in the year, as the long-standing judge was swapped out for Nick Grimshaw.
