TODAY IN GAY: Hackers Take Over God Hates Fags Website

Today in 1999 the infamous GodHatesFags.com was re-routed to godlovesfags.com. The hate website, which is run by the Westboro Baptist Church was hacked numerous times. One particular attempt was undertaken by the hacking collective Anonymous and managed to knock the website off and have its user linked to an entirely different website for several days.

In 1999 godhatesfags.com was just two years old and according to CNN, owner of godlovesfags.com, where the hate site was re-routed to, Kris Haight said,

The website was re-routed for a couple of days.

Speaking about the hack, Shirley Phelps-Roper said,

“It’s just another fag ploy to try to bury the truth of God and the Earth. It’s a temporary inconvenience.

“Hate will not be tolerated on the Internet,

“Phelps teaches hate and a lot of it is untrue. People who go to their site and want to find hate aren’t going to find it, at least until he gets the domain back.”

The website is still online today, but its visitor numbers are so low, that SimilarWeb which estimates a website’s online traffic says there’s insufficient data to accurately determine the website’s visitor numbers.

  • Westboro Baptists, lose legal battle to protest at funerals

Westboro Baptist Church has lost a legal battle to protest at funerals in Nebraska.

The Kansas-based Westboro Baptist Church (WBC) has lost a legal battle meaning that it cannot protest within 500 feet of cemeteries mortuaries or churches, one hour before a funeral or two hours after it has taken place.

The law which was enacted in 2006 forbids the WBC or any other group to demonstrate during the hours in which a funeral takes place.

The WBC is infamous for its noisy protests outside funerals of openly gay people and the funerals of military personnel.

KOAM TV revealed that the WBC challenged the law, but were unsuccessful in the lower courts, the US Supreme court said it wouldn’t take up the case.

Speaking to Reuters, the church’s lawyer, Margie Phelps, said that they would continue in their endeavours.

  • That Time Westboro Baptist Church Were Owned By Their Own Logic

Westboro Baptist Church is infamous for its hateful signs and pernicious picketing. However, when you scratch beneath the surface as to what they are doing, they are themselves hated by god… for being enablers.

During a Twitter exchange yesterday, Westboro Baptist Church’s entire existence came into call, when THEGAYUK asked weren’t they in fact enablers, if their goal is to stop gay people going to hell?

Their signs read “God Hates Fag Enablers” and “Fag Enabler In Hell”, so surely by their own logic, god hates them. If in fact god exists and that’s a whole other debate.

    https://twitter.com/WBCVideo/status/565506945818165248?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw&ref_url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.archive.thegayuk.com%2F_snippet%2Fblog%2F4009928388%2F9389882%2FR3y3NdB6560rzim8j8TBnU58M44.html

The exchange happened after TheGayUK reported that WBC, whose founders and key players are banned from entering the UK, are planning to picket the Barry Manilow concert tonight. When questioned why they’d used #TrueLove as hashtag at the end of their tweet, they told us because they do care, insisting that WBC were the only people who do… And they linked to a video that suggested the reason they carry their colourful signs at pickets and Tweet bile filled hate, is because they’re stopping us falling over a cliff edge (hell); there’s a metaphor there – and it really is clever (for them), however by that very logic, their signs are acting as a calling for us to stop, and therefore be able to enter heaven. So aren’t Westboro Baptist Church themselves ‘fag enablers’?

When questioned on that fact they replied with, “Nope! Our goal is to preach; its effect is God’s call”. Again with the enabling…

Damn it WBC stop enabling us…

We also called them up on their blatant copyright infringement of Barry Manilow’s picture (just for good measure). God hated stealing, it was in his commandments.

  • Westboro Baptists release anti-gay version of Let It Go

Anti-everything Church Westboro Baptist Church has released a version of Frozen’s hit song Let It Go, but have cleverly changed the words… oh those talented beasts.

The ever-on-the-pulse-of-pop-culture Church, WBC have released a version of Idina Menzel’s Let It Go, with clever, almost rhyming, new lyrics warning us all about our sins… yada yada yada.

We’re assuming they did this they because Let it Go is seen as the perfect coming out song. (Props to their marketing dept.)

We particularly enjoyed the failed reach for the high note – it seems god isn’t lifting you up as you reach for your E flat.

    Listen to the song here

  • Cher Is Anti-Gay Church WBO Next Protest

The hate mongers at Westboro Baptist Church have decided on their next picket: Cher.

This could get messy folks after the almost parody of its own self church, Westboro Baptist Church (WBC) released information on its next anti-gay protest.

In a press release (comedy one-sheet as we like to refer to it around these parts) WBC says, it plans to picket ‘that bundle of confusion going by the name of Cher’ at the singer’s Kansas City concert on 31 May.

The press release gets personal by dismissing Cher as a bad mother saying, ‘It’s no wonder that Chastity did a slow motion meltdown before the eyes of the world with such rage in her heart that she decided to show Cher who was boss and started chopping body parts off and calling herself a man.’

In March the founder of WBC Fred Phelps died at the age of 84.

We think that Cher will get along just fine…

‘I’m not sure how I feel about this,

‘Terribly ironic that his devotion to his god ends this way. Destroyed by the monster he made.

‘I feel sad for all the hurt he’s caused so many. I feel sad for those who will lose the grandfather and father they loved.

‘And I’m bitterly angry that my family is blocking the family members… from seeing him, and saying their good-byes.’

The group, which has been banned from entering the UK, are known for their outrageous claims and their website: godhatesfags.com. The group have devoted their time to over 52,000 pickets in over 900 cities.

    DISGRACED AWARD WINNING LAWYER
Phelps was an award-winning civil rights lawyer before co-founding WBC in 1955. He was disbarred from the Kansas Supreme Court in 1979 and lost his license in 1989.

Last year WBC blamed sex-same marriage for the murder of soldier Lee Rigby.

    MATTHEW SHEPARD
One of the most notorious pickets for WBC was for Matthew Shepard’s funeral. Matthew Shepard was killed in an attack in Wyoming in 1998. Matthew’s death spurred the making of the award-winning film The Laramie Project.

  • Founder of Westboro Baptist Church, Fred Phelps, on “Death Bed”

Fred Phelps, the co-founder of hate group Westboro Baptist Church is reportedly on his ‘death bed’ according to sources.

According to Phelps’s son Nate Phelps who left the hate church in 1976, Fred Phelps the founder of Westboro Baptist Church is on ‘the edge of death’.

In a Facebook post yesterday Mr. Phelp’s son said:

‘I feel sad for all the hurt he’s caused so many. I feel sad for those who will lose the grandfather and father they loved.
‘And I’m bitterly angry that my family is blocking the family members… from seeing him, and saying their good-byes.’

WBC is known for its outrageous remarks and funeral pickets especially when it comes to homosexuality.
The group were particularly critical of Matthew Shepherd, spurring the movie The Laramie Project into production.

The Church is also infamous for its GodHatesFags website.

  • Westboro gets vine

Now if only these people spend their time doing their hair, makeup or generally keeping fit, the WBC would be a much nicer place to hang out for gays.

We love a bit of Westboro shenanigans; we find their updates and interest in our sexuality most heartening. That’s why when we found that they had discovered Vine we just had to watch. And predictably, like a hideous car crash or Liza Minnelli on stage, it’s utterly captivating.
