  • House Hunters Take Just 12 Minutes To Decide If They Want To Buy

The average house-hunter takes just 12 minutes to decide they have found their dream home after stepping over the threshold, a new study reveals.

Younger buyers are even more impulsive – most 18 – 24-year-olds make one of the biggest decisions of their lives after just nine minutes inside the property.
In a revealing new survey, commissioned by entertainment channel Watch ahead of new series Honey I Bought The House, over half of house hunters fear they might never find the home they are looking for.
With the pressure to find a house and put an offer in, only a quarter of the hopeful home-owners would agree to buy a property only their other half had seen and they had not.
Which is exactly what Honey I Bought The House asks its contributors to do in exchange for £15,000 towards their deposit.
The survey revealed that the average UK home-buyer views six properties and clocks up 240 miles before choosing ‘the one’.
They go through the process three times during their lifetime, spending around 90 hours scouring websites and estate agent windows.
The typical hunt sees the average couple having four quarrels.
Steve North, General Manager for Watch said:

“Buying a house is probably one of the most important decisions you’ll ever make.

“Finding the perfect home is rarely straightforward. It’s time consuming, pricey, not to mention stressful.

“Honey I Bought the House takes a nail-biting approach to the reality of buying a first home.

“Their partner could be thrilled with the new property and sign the mortgage papers, but if they don’t like it they risk losing that precious deposit.”

People in East Anglia travel the furthest in search of their dream home – 130 miles per property, while those in the North East cover just 40 miles.
Londoners forked out over £100 on petrol while looking for their most recent house purchase compared to just £54 for people in Yorkshire.
There were other costs incurred by home-hunters last time they went through the purchasing process, such as more than £200 on mortgage or financial advisors.
They also forked out over a grand for solicitors and admin fees and £349 on other costs throughout the whole process.
The first episode of Honey I Bought The House features a couple of first-time buyers, Paul and Sophie, who are offered the chance to get £15,000 towards their deposit and three weeks to secure an offer on a property.
The catch? Paul must work alone to find their dream home and hope that Sophie agrees with his final choice or risk losing the money.
The outcome? Tears. Lots of them, and a fascinating insight into the dynamics of a couple buying a house.
Honey I Bought The House starts on Watch from Monday 19th October at 9pm.

  • The Rich Kids: One Direction Made £200,000 Per Day Last Year

The boys in One Direction raked in more than £200,000 PER DAY last year, staggering figures have revealed.

A sellout tour, bumper record sales and lucrative merchandising saw revenue at their company 1D Media Limited rise by 50 per cent to £73.7 million.

Post-tax profits for the group rocketed by 830 per cent from £3.75 million to £34.98 million.

The company, which lists heartthrobs Niall, Liam, Harry, Louis and Zayn as sole directors and shareholders, now has assets worth more than £57 million.

Despite the bumper figures, none of the singers took dividends and instead were paid annual salaries of just £109,722 each.

But the group wouldn’t have been short of cash – in 2013 they took out £28.1 million between them in “remuneration”.

They also racked up administrative expenses of £28.5 million – which could have gone on taking them around the world on private jets and putting them up in the poshest hotels.

  • Nearly Half Of Gay Men Feel There Is A Stigma To Being A Bottom

Nearly Half Of Gay Men Feel There Is A Stigma To Being A Bottom

Nearly half of gay men questioned felt there was a stigma attached to bottoming or being the receptive partner.

    (C) BIGSTOCK

In a poll run by TheGayUK sixty per cent of readers thought that there was or weren’t sure if there was a stigma attached by bottoming or being the receiving partner during penetrative sex. Only 40 per cent said no there wasn’t a stigma.

However when questioned men who considered themselves more of a receiver said that bottoming meant that they felt they were in control.
    One reader said,

‘Being a bottom does not imply a position of weakness. I usually control what happens”

    MANHOOD QUESTIONED?

The question of manliness and gender roles was raised with those polled pointing out that others’ expectations often put gay, bisexual and MSMs (men who have sex with men) into a gender role according to which position they took during sex. Some suggesting that being a bottom meant being ‘less of a man’.
    David said,

“As a bear type, it’s an almost inevitable look of shock and confusion when guys hit on me then find out I’m a bottom! It’s almost like they think I’m pretending to be someone I’m not!?!? It’s usually little twinklets that get all snotty and look at me like I’m less of a man!”

However reader Glen suggested that heterosexual people might be to blame for the stigma,

“I think in the community it is fine but the st8s are so desperate to view our relationships like the ones they have, so more often than not they view a “bottom” as the female in a gay relationship. It winds me up when they’re always trying to make our sex life fit some kind of view they have. It comes down to social “norms” dated and fake as they are…

“Example, my husband’s gran came over and I made dinner for us all… she turns to my friend and says …”he must be the woman”… she’s lovely but it goes to show. I feel that men are men, no matter what they like”.

    Colin added,

“I think there is a stigma and I think it’s a hangover from straight people always asking “who’s the woman”. The answer of course, is neither of us is a woman, sh**ferbrains. There is only one group of people who can stop the stigmatisation of bottoms and that is us – it’s entirely up to us.

  • 7 Celebs Who Have Been Outted As Having Smaller Penises

There are those celebrities who don’t feel the need to brag about their penis size… Here are a few that have come out or outted by their exes for their apparently smaller wangs.

Robbie Williams recently admitted not having the biggest willy in the world. Speaking to the Sun on Sunday he said,

“It’s not a small c**k, I’ve got massive thighs and it’s an optical illusion’. It’s not though, it really is quite small! ”So if I had an extra inch and a half, I’d be a naturist.”

    “That was shrinkage for me,”

However the singer did say that the pictures, taken of him on holiday in Bora Bora, had left him feeling violated, he said,

  • TRAILER: Swan Lake II: Dark Waters

The annual contemporary performance season, Sacred, starts at the Chelsea Theatre November 5th – 28th. One piece to keep an eye on is the very talented PanicLab’s Swan Lake II.

A new solo performance from jordan Lennie, who helped to choreograph the piece along with Joseph Mercier, is a visual treat. Jordan may be naked on stage for a lot of this performance piece, which will always draw the crowds, however the overall beauty of the piece is in the artistic playfulness of the character.

We spoke with Joseph this week who told us,
‘Swan Lake II: Dark Waters takes a queer approach to ballet. It plays with aspects of the art form that are often denied or downplayed. Aspects like eroticism, campness, seduction, vanity and excess. In Swan Lake II these are highlighted and magnified in playful ways, drawing out some of ballet’s inherent queerness’.
