Here they are… the 12 campest moments from X Factor
Another chance for the weird and wonderful to grace our TV screens with glittery performances and outrageous outfits. There has been many a camp moment over the years and this year will no different. Now we take a look back at some of the great, and not so great contestants and their camp moments during the last 12 years.
Chico (Series 2, 2005)
It’s Chico time…You can’t have a camp list without Chico and his time. So naturally his campest moment is Chico Time from week 6. But it comes to something when you can’t even beat the dull as dishwater Andy Abraham who finished second eventually.
Same Difference (Series 4, 2007)
Well what can one say about the eternally smiling, incredibly close, brother and sister duo Same Difference, who every week the viewers had to be reminded were brother and sister. Their constantly upbeat and sparkly performances really puts them in the camp category, but I would have to say their campest moment would be the performance of “Blame it on the Boogie”.
Rhydian Roberts (Series 4, 2007)
Rhydian with his jawline that could carve a steak, how do I best describe him? Well his shock of white blond hair made him stand out every week and his operatic style voice propelled him into second place that year to eventually lose to Leon Jackson. He was larger than life and put on quite the show every week. However his campest moment came in week 5 of the live shows when dressed as a sailor he sang The Pet Shop boys classic “Go West”.
Alexandra Burke & Beyonce (Series 5, 2008)
Not exactly a camp moment in itself, but it got all the gays moist with excitement when Alexandra Burke started singing “Listen” by Beyonce, and low & behold the lady herself glided effortlessly on stage and completely stole the show with her powerful vocals that helped Alexandra win the whole series.
John & Edward Grimes AKA Jedward (Series 6, 2009)
Oh Jedward, you distressingly annoying pair of idiots. From the word go with their hybrid American/Irish accent I knew I would hate them and every week I willed them to not make it any further. Jedward started the trend of having at least one “entertaining” contestant rather than actual talent. Their vocals harmed TV speakers over the whole country and while it’s difficult to pick a best camp moment out of the many they decided to inflict us with, I’m going to have to go with their dreadful, red PVC suit wearing rendition of “Oops I Did it Again”.
Diva Fever (Series 7, 2010)
If gay was personified, it would be Diva Fever, who didn’t exactly sing a whole lot. The public were never entirely sure if they were watching a singing act or a dressage performance. They only managed to survive 2 weeks in the live shows but they certainly left an impression with their high camp moments from the auditions through to the live shows.
Katie Waissel (Series 7, 2010)
Song destroying Katie Waissel, who many people think didn’t deserve her place because she rarely made it through a full song during the auditions, managed to outdo herself in the camp factor during week 4 of the live shows. Dressed in a birds nest on her head and bright white eyelashes, along with dancers with inflatable pumpkins she mutilated the theme song to “Bewitched”.
Wagner (Series 7, 2010)
I can’t pick one camp moment from Wagner because he did so many hilarious mash-ups of various camp classics. Trouble was, he took himself seriously and thought he was amazing while the rest of the country didn’t. He managed to cause controversy when he described Cheryl as “A girl from a council estate who got lucky” and not long after he was booted from the competition after a series of rants about the show
Johnny Robinson (Series 8, 2011)
A Kylie Minogue classic, a kimono and a fan that threatened to upstage him, made for the campest moment of this series with Johnny Robinson singing “Can’t Get You Out of my Head”. No other contestant could’ve pulled this off quite like Johnny did, so it made quite the interesting performance.
Rylan Clark (Series 9, 2012)
Nicole, Nicole, Nicole, why did you do this to us and inflict Rylan upon the world. The perma-tanned, TOWIE wannabe who cried in a very scary way was forced upon us, despite his obvious absence of talent. And most weeks he was there, he murdered camp classics but managed to survive to come 5th. But the controversial deadlock decision by Louis Walsh in week one against the slightly boring yet more talented Carolynne Poole made people start to openly question the validity of the show.
Stevi Ritchie (Series 11, 2014)
This time it’s Simon Cowell’s fault. Stevi Ritchie was the one who looked like the creepy, friend of the family who you were forced to call “uncle”. He certainly tried his best each week despite his lack of vocal ability, and his campest moment had to be the strangely Egyptian themed version of “I’m Still Standing”.
Seann Miley Moore (Series 12, 2015)
Anyone who comes on stage in high heeled boots, a fur jacket and a see-through top has to be a camp moment. Singing The Show Must Go On, he does have a good singing voice, and might actually break the curse of being the irritating “entertaining” one and actually be talented instead. We’ll just have to see if he makes it through to the live shows.

Katie Hopkins has come under fire after tweeting a picture of a child, saying that the parents should never have had him, because the child was born with “half a head”.
Controversial Katie Hopkins caused outrage after tweeting that a child born with an incurable brain condition, Microhydranencephaly, shouldn’t have been born at all – calling the parents “cruel and inhumane”. Hopkins also referred to the child as “it” and said he felt “sorry for a baby with no future.”
Seeing the Tweet, Perez Hilton who is a father of two, slammed the Daily Mail columnist and his former Celebrity Big Brother housemate branding her evil and called her a “C**t.”
Children born with Microhydranencephaly usually only survive a few days. Some survive for a year. Jaxon Emmett Buell made headline last week after celebrating his first birthday.
We couldn’t get more descriptive with that title if we tried.
In a rather shocking start to the last programme of the current series of Celebrity Big Brother comedian Bobby Davro shows off his other talents – namely hiding his penis with a hat – without hands. Yes dear reader, without hands.
The 57-year-old entertainer shocked his fellow housemates with a full on morning glory, hidden only by a hat.
It’s been 28 days in the house and clearly frustrations are starting to show.
The veteran stand-up joins fellow housemates Stevi and Chloe Jasmine, James Hill, Austin Armacost, Natasha Hamilton and Sherrie in their bid to win Celebrity Big Brother 2015.The programme is on Channel 5 from 9PM tonight.
Veteran actress Vicki Michelle is apparently set to press charges against reality personality Farrah Abraham after being hit on the head “with great force with a glass”.
The ‘Allo Allo actress released a statement through her agent which said,
“Actress Vicki Michelle MBE is this morning with Hertfordshire police and will be pressing charges against Farrah Abraham, who struck the back of her head with great force with a glass during the recording of CBBBOTS this week.
“Vicki has been in show business for 40 years and has been left in deep shock and with a concussion after the attack by Ms Abraham.”
The alleged altercation happened in Monday night’s episode of CBBOTS, a side show for Celebrity Big Brother, which is hosted by Rylan Clark. During the programme exchanges between Aisleyne and Farrah had got heated, she fumed,
“You’ve got your cheque, you’ve had your cheque now get on the plane and f*** off.
“Get on the plane and f*** off, no-one likes you. We don’t want you here. Go on!”
Later on as Farrah is talking to Rylan, Aisleyne interrupts and Farrah shouts her down saying,
“Hag be quiet”
Next Aisleyne says, “sorry”, and goes towards her Champagne glass… The programme is cut.
The show resumed after 10 minutes with the celebrity panel being removed from the studio.
Ms. Abraham’s agent has announced that the complaint is in the hands of her legal team and that no further comment would be made on the matter.
In a statement, Hertfordshire Police said:
“Officers are continuing to make inquiries with relevant parties following the incident which occurred at Elstree Studio’s on the evening on September 22. These investigations are on-going at this time.
“No arrests have been made.”
During her time in the house Farrah Abraham had been criticised for the use of homophobic language. During a task she branded Gail Porter and Natasha Hamiton “lesbians” whilst callling Austin Armacost a “gay homo.”
Farrah tweeted that she wouldn’t be at the Celebrity Big Brother live final tonight because she doesn’t want to put herself in a hostile situation.
Chairs thrown, Champagne chucked, veteran ‘Allo, ‘Allo actress receiving medical attention – but who started it all?
Everything seemed to be going well on Rylan‘s show, when Farrah Abraham called reality star Aisleyne Horgan-Wallace a “hag”. That’s when sources say things on the BBOTS set went nuclear.
Next Aisleyne says “sorry” and goes towards her Champagne glass… The programme is cut.
Transmission was cut as Aisleyne was seen to pick up her Champagne glass. We’re told that Champagne went flying at this point, but not who started the fight which would eventually see all the panellists removed from the show.
A Channel 5 spokesperson said in a statement: ‘Celebrity Big Brother’s Bit On The Side was interrupted this evening due to an incident on the set.’
The programme which is broadcast with a minute delay cut before any of the dramatic violence unfolded. It returned shortly after with Rylan explaining that the panel had been removed and the show would go on. The programme ended at least 10 minutes before it’s official end time.
INNOCENT VICTIM: Veteran actress Vikki Michelle was injured by flying glass.
THE FULL MONTY: Janice and Jenna join the panel and sparks fly.
What follows is a mixture of reports, but apparently depending on who you believe Janice got involved in the fracas and is accused of throwing a chair, however the supermodel’s agent told the Daily Mail that she had ‘thrown herself in the path’ of another flying glass which was about to hit Vikki Michelle. The ‘Allo ‘Allo actress had to receive medical attention after being injured by glass. She tweeted her fans that being “checked over” and thanked them for their concern.
THE GLASS: What happened next?
A Channel 5 source told The Sun,
“It was absolute chaos. Glasses and then a chair went flying and Vicki ended up injured in the process.
‘Everyone was screaming and sobbing. Vicki, who hadn’t caused anything herself, was caught in the crossfire and ended up being glassed.”
It seems that Jaustin is back on and the Bromance is alive and well as Austin Armacost drags James Hill back to bed.
The on and off again bromance between Austin and James seems to be on again after Austin drags formerApprentice star James Hill back to bed, saying WELCOME HOME…
Yesterday the pair had a falling out after James nominated Austin because of his behaviour towards Janice. In an explosive rampage Austin called the “world’s first super model” a c**t numerous times.
After speaking with Big Brother in the diary room about his mother’s incarceration and his brother’s death, a tearful Austin re-joined the house asking for forgiveness.
Speaking to James, the married reality star said,
“I just think you should be on your hands and knees begging for forgiveness.”
James pretends to sleep in a different bed but Austin drags him out and puts him back in their bed, saying,“welcome home.”
Celebrity Big Brother continues tonight at: 9pm on Channel 5
Yep, that’s twice now CBB’s Austin has dropped the C bomb on Janice.
Austin Armacost is not Janice Dickinson’s fan, not by a long stretch, after calling the “world’s first supermodel” a c**t twice in 48 hours.
Austin’s rant at Janice happened after a week of arguments, which came to a boiling point after Janice nominated Austin not to receive a letter from home after she screwed up the task to enable housemates to get a letter from a loved one. In a show of solidarity, Janice threw her letter away but was given it to read by Big Brother later on.
In tonight’s episode, Austin’s anger at the mother of two seemed to have gotten the better of him after going on a rampage.
He said,
“You are a terrible example of a women and a mother, your children would be so embarrassed, you’re f**king the worst excuse for a women ever.”
To which Janice sticks her fingers up at Austin and tells him to “kiss my a*s.”
Austin responds,
“You’re such a good mother to throw your middle fingers up on National Television, you f**king embarrassment of a mother, you should be ashamed.”
At this point Janice hides under the covers, while Austin lands the blow,
“That’s right, I didn’t think you had anything to say, you stupid c**t.”
He then criticises her lifestyle and job by saying,
“What an embarrassment to society, run around with your tits out and you’re spreading your legs. You’re just such a nasty excuse for a woman…miserable…who has to pop from reality show to reality show like you do to f**king get a pay cheque. Get a job, learn a trade, get some education, you stupid f**king b*tch.”
He goes to Big Brother to calm down and speaks about his family including about his mother’s arrest and jail time has affected him.
“I have done nothing but be honest and truthful with everybody in this House and that is why from the start I wanted to share about my brother and my mom, because I’m f**king p*ssed off. I had to bury my brother and then send my mom to prison. I saw my mom for a week before I came to London and I come back to Huddersfield and see this amazing family that my husband has and that p*sses me off because my family is self-destructive.”
Austin’s mother, Karen Armacost was sentenced to six years in jail for theft. She pleaded guilty to stealing $681,000 over four years from her former employee.
After speaking to Big Brother he goes back into the house and says,
“That was bang out of order to say those things. I’m not going to make excuses, it was f**ked up and inappropriate by any means that is an understatement. It’s absolutely the last things that should have come out my mouth.”
It’s all over. The CBB bromance between Austin and James Hill is officially over.
Done. Dusted. Finished. The great CBB bromance between Austin Armacost and former Apprentice star James Hill is officially over after James nominates Austin for eviction. We’re imagining Austin’s husband Jake is very happy about this news.
On his nomination of Austin, James said,
“the way he goes off and how he is treating people is very hard for me because you know I have to make the right decision and as much as I love him you know he is wrong and how he is behaving is wrong, it makes it very hard for me because he is my best friend in here.”
Talking about his nomination to Bobby Davro, James says, “that was very hard for me mate.”
The housemates facing eviction tomorrow night (Tuesday 22 September) are JANICE, BOBBY, JENNA and AUSTIN. Austin and Jenna are shocked to discover that they have been nominated by their friend, James, leading to a big row breaking out between Austin and the rest of the Housemates. Ooo errrr big dramz.
CBB continues tonight on Channel Five from 9PM
