Queer As FolkAmerican tv might be heating up with gay sex scenes now (thank you, How to Get Away With Murder), but shows like Queer as Folk, Shameless, and Skins. Gay men have been a staple on British soaps (which are far superior to their campy American counterparts) for decades, and from films like Get Real and Beautiful Thing to books like Maurice and Brideshead Revisited, Britain has a long history of gay representation. (But still, thank you, How to Get Away with Murder.)
