So the 19th series of Celebrity Big Brother has just launched. We thought we’d see which LGBT celebs have starred in the ever popular show.
Celebrity Big Brother 2017 | Channel 5
Generally speaking, LGBT celebs tend to do well in Celebrity Big Brother. There have been two openly gay winners, Rylan and Julian Clary. There have been three runners-up, Sue Perkins, Austin Armacost and Michael Barrymore. However, some LGBT celebs have caused controversy and were booted from the house, including Tila Tequila and Christopher Biggins. There have been two trans women to take part in the show.
There have been:
Lesbian 3
Bisexual 6
Gay 14
Trans 3
Honourary 1
Total 27
Series 2
Sue Perkins, came 2nd
Former Great British Bake Off presenter Sue Perkins wasn’t as famous back then as she is now. Series two of CBB was just ten days long and she managed to stay right till the last day but didn’t win the series. That honour went to former Take That singer Mark Owen.
Series 4
Jodie Marsh, first evicted.
Jodie Marsh who said she was bisexual after being celibate for 4 years didn’t fair well during her time on the show. She was the first evictee from the series. In an exclusive interview with THEGAYUK.com she told us that only gay porn gets her off now.
Michael Barrymore, came 2nd
His appearance in Series 4 of Celeb Big Bro was largely considered Michael Barrymore’s comeback to mainstream television following the death of a man at his home. He managed to spend 22 days in the house and was crowned runner up of the series.
Pete Burn, came 5th

Series 5
Ian H Watkins, came 4th
Ian, or as many of our readers will know him as “H” from Steps, came out officially on the day he entered the house. He was in one of the most talked series ever, after a “race row” between a number of the housemates and Indian actor Shilpa Shetty. He eventually placed fourth.
Series 7
Alex Reid, winner

Lee went in a straight man, however, a sexual revelation during a conversation with some housemates made many viewers believe that he is bisexual. Even his fellow Blue bandmate, Duncan James tweeted that he thought he was the only “only bi/gay in the band”. Lee lasted 24 days in the house.
Ollie Locke, came 3rd
Ollie announced that he was bisexual before entering the house and admitted that he had never slept with a man. He has since come out as gay.

Michelle Visage, came 5th
Okay, so Michelle Visage is an honorary member of the LGBT community. She did herself proud in the house and even managed to make Katie Hopkins seem approachable.
It didn’t take long for Austin to get naked in the BB house, in fact, it was just a couple of hours. He managed to bromance his way to the finals with James Hill.
Tila Tequila, ejected
The less said the better to be honest. She got kicked out when BB execs realised that she had written some offensive messages on social media.

Poor Christopher Biggins didn’t last long in CBB after a number of offensive conversations, Biggins was booted off the show.

Samantha Fox, came 7th
Claims of sexuality made during various times and by various news sources. If an assertion of sexuality or gender is wrong please email the newsdesk for correction.
Katie Hopkins has poured cold water on fan’s hopes that she is to appear on Celebrity Big Brother tonight.
Katie Hopkins has joined her fellow housemate, Perez Hilton, in confirming that she’s not about to appear in tonight’s launch show of Celebrity Big Brother. Perez’s reason was money. Katie’s reason – because Donald Trump is about to “take control of the White House”.
Taking to Twitter Katie slammed the show as a “no star” event and stated,
“Go into no star CBB …when a 5 star President is about to take control of the White House? I don’t think so my little furry friends”
Katie Hopkins along with Perez, Michelle Visage and Katie Price starred in the January 2015 series of CBB which made it the most talked about series of the show on Channel 5. During the show, Katie formed a close friendship with Michelle, but the pair fell out shortly after the show, with Michelle revealing that Katie stopped returning her calls.
CBB execs apparently pleading with Perez to go back into the house, but they weren’t prepared to stump up the “double amount” fee.
First, there was hope, then there was elation and now… despair.
NBC/KoMut
Despite what Leslie Jordan said, there isn’t a new series of the landmark show, Will And Grace on the make. The show’s lead, Debra Messing, has taken to Twitter to dismiss the claims made by the comedian, by saying that the cast and producers are just in “talks”.
Fans across the globe rejoiced when one of the show’s cameos, Leslie Jordan, confirmed that a new season with 10 episodes was being made and due to hit our screens later this year. The show was considered grounding breaking during its original run from the late ’90s to the mid ‘oos and starred, Eric McCormack, Debra Messing, Sean Hayes and Megan O’Mullally. It ran for 8 seasons and had 194 episodes.
Debra poured cold water on the claims by tweeting,
You know the Disney film now watch Aladdin live on stage at the Prince Edward Theatre in the heart of London’s theatreland. The show runs for 2 hours and 30 minutes. It includes one interval.
Another of London’s iconic gay bars is to close revealing that unsustainable rent hikes are the cause.
Popular gay bar in South London closing due to rent hikes
Clapham in south London is to see the closure of one of its two gay bars thanks to unsustainable rent increases. Kazbar, which opened its doors in 1995, will have its last day of business on the 1st of January. The Two Brewers, which is local to the Kazbar, will remain open.
A statement released via its Facebook page said that after 20 years the bar would be shuttered from the 1st of January after its annual New Year’s Eve party.
The post reads,
“After 20 years of being the iconic gay bar of South London, we regret to inform you that we will be closing down this year.
“We will hold our last “New Year’s Eve” party until 6 am as usual. But we would love you to join us for the last goodbye drinks of the 1st January until our normal closing time.
ROGUE ONE: A STAR WARS STORY – Completely separate stand-alone Star Wars movie with all new characters telling the story that leads right up to the split second the original classic started back in 1977 when Leia leads the plans into R2D2 and Darth bursts through that door.
Nutshell – The Empire is developing an ultimate weapon thought to be a planet killer which we of course we know becomes the Death Star. The Rebels have a plan to stop it which involves stealing its original plans which all goes well until Darth Vader turns up and then people start dying… an awful lot of people.
Running Time – 133 minutes; Certificate – 12A
Tagline – ‘Save The Rebellion, Save The Dream’
The Gay UK Factor – Loads of hot guys in uniforms makes for a good starting place. The second Star Wars in a row to have a female lead but this time we have a very sexy guy at her side in the form of the hottest Mexican you have ever seen Diego Luna playing Cassian Andor and boy does that tight rebel uniform sticks to him in all the right places – we wonder if all the other stormtroopers & rebels are also horse-hung as he appears to be.
Cast – Felicity Jones, Diego Luna, Adam Tudyk plus some major stars like Forest Whitaker, Mads Mikkelsen, Jimmy Smits and the very f**kable Ben Mendelsohn plus Peter Cushing and others photoshopped in for Seventies memory jerks.
Key Player – The Star Wars saga has produced the best three robots in cinema history – time to meet number Four. K2SO is a Seven-foot new favourite and this robot seems as though he has been a regular performer down the Comedy Store for ages – you will laugh a lot.
Budget – $200 Million the second biggest of the year and it is expected to make four times that back at least as there is little competition in theatres at present and it is only 11 months until the next one….Kerching !
Best Bit – 1.50 mins; Two of the main characters have to climb up a giant indoor tower in a control room under fire in the best action sequence in the movie – all very exciting, time is running out fast and will they both survive?
Worst Bit – 0.31 mins; With all new characters, it takes a bit of time to get going and there is a lot of introductions and expositions required. This is most apparent in a drawn out prison scene when you have really come to see lazer duels and starship battles.
Little Secret – The inside of the Death Star was filmed at Canary Wharf underground station outside of normal hours. The most famous scene in the trailer where the lead female character on a platform comes face to face with a Tie fighter is not in the movie at all surprisingly but will be on the DVD release in 2017
Further Viewing –Star Wars 1 – 7 are basic canon for the enjoyment of this also try Star Trek 1-13, Battlestar Galactica, Independence Day, The Black Hole and a million other spaceship battle movies that have become big-screen staples or anything with loads of sword battles like say Game of Thrones before it became repetitive.
Any Good – This is very impressive stuff and with a tonne of surprises linked with a multitude of nostalgia and throwbacks to earlier (or later) films. The British director breaks a lot of rules here yet sticks to the standard plot build up of the recent SW movies. This will make megabucks and deservedly so and now we head into the Fortieth Anniversary year with the biggest movie yet on the horizon and one a year guaranteed from now on so it’s good times if you feel the force and bad news if you prefer Poldark, Grantchester and Downton type snore bores.
Rating – 86% out of a hundred (That’s 10% up from the Force Awakens)
When the new batch of Celebs enters the Celebrity Big Brother house they may want to pack some sun shades. The new-look CBB house has been unveiled and it’s bright and camp. It reminds us of THEGAYUK office.

So will Sam be releasing new music in 2017? The star revealed that he was going deeper than ever for the next one, saying, “Every day I’m having little epiphanies and changes and loving it. But all I can say is that I’m putting my heart even more out on the (expletive) line. I’m going even deeper. I can’t believe I’m even doing it, but I’m going even deeper.”
