    • The hitmaker has launched a non-profit organisation in order to support LGBT+ human rights.
    • The organisation has “the vision to see LGBT+ communities of all ages and backgrounds enjoy full human rights within a fully-inclusive society”
    • The organisation will, in part, be financed by Adam Lambert himself

Musician, actor and activist Adam Lambert has launched the Feel Something Foundation (FSF), with the mission to support LGBT+ organisations that are moving the needle for communities of all ages and backgrounds.

Founded by Adam in 2019, the Feel Something Foundation is the result of a career travelling the world, meeting global members of the community, hearing their stories and witnessing first-hand the difficulties LGBT+ people continue to face in all areas of life.

Having spent time throughout his career engaging in LGBT+ activism and as a member of the community himself, the foundation sees Adam’s philanthropy institutionalised into an organisation with the aim to truly make a difference. With the vision to see LGBT+ communities of all ages and backgrounds enjoy full human rights within a fully-inclusive society, FSF first aims to ensure support is given to the myriad of issues that continue to disproportionately affect them.

This will be achieved through working with charities that have a mission or project directly focussed on impacting the LGBT+ community in areas of Education & the Arts; Homelessness; Suicide Prevention & Mental Health. The Feel Something Foundation wants to abolish “coming out” as a term used to define someone simply being themselves.

FSF will build its revenue through the personal charitable contributions of its founder, directors and with public funds raised through fundraising and awareness campaigns, events and initiatives. The first fundraiser will be initiated in the coming weeks with an online clothing auction of some of Adam’s best looks. Initial charities will be chosen based on those Adam has worked with previously and that stand for the positive, progressive messages of the Feel Something Foundation in supporting and empowering LGBT+ communities.

Adam Lambert says queers in music are becoming mainstream

Adam Lambert has spoken about how LGBT+ people in music are becoming mainstream while still maintaining a niche and “subcategory” vibe.

In the time since Lambert’s first release back in 2009, there has been a wave of out artists, including Sam Smith, Janelle Monáe, Olly Alexander, Frank Ocean and MNEK.

Speaking in Rollacoaster magazine, Lambert said that at the beginning of his career that being out in the music industry felt like “uncharted territory” and “scary” but it was exciting because it was the dawn of change.

    “A whole niche now”

    He told Rollacoaster,

“It was a little bit like unchartered territory, and it was exciting because I knew that it was a change, but it was also a bit scary…The queer movement in music is like a whole niche now, it’s this whole thing and what I love is that it’s both a niche like a sub-category but it’s also mainstream.”

This year, Queen + Adam Lambert will embark on the ‘Rhapsody Tour’ including a massive x10 shows at London’s O2 Arena in June 2020. Adam’s new EP Velvet: Side A is available now

Global popstar, Adam Lambert has showcased a beautiful boho style for a magazine interview.

Adam Lambert has gone from Bohemian Rhapsody to Bohemian style for a beautiful photoshoot with Schon Magazine.

Adam Lambert channels bohemian vibes in a new shoot for Schon Magazine. In the accompanying interview, the multi-platinum selling singer discusses exploring a new sound whilst creating his forthcoming album, speaking up against social injustice, remaining authentic in his creativity and the LGBT+ community.

Adam was recently announced among the cast of the new animated film ‘Playmobil: The Movie’. He also hinted that there would be brand new music from him very soon.

Speaking about new music, Adam told Schon,”I didn’t know exactly what I wanted to do for a minute, as far as my solo career. Now, I’ve explored some new sounds and some new concepts and I’m on the course to put something out, but it took a second to discover that for myself, for this project.”

“I was just waiting to catch a certain inspiration, you know what I mean? I was really digging, trying to find some authenticity. The most authentic sound and style that I could. I think from the outside looking in, I think the fans, for example, may just think “oh, you’ve done this album and now you can just pop another one out, you know… do it” [laughs] But those of us who are actually making the albums, know it’s not as simple as that. There is the creative process. You can’t really put a time stamp on it and just demand it to happen.”

Adam also revealed that he was going back to his musical roots, revealing, “There’s a lot of reference to Glam-Rock and Classic Rock of the ‘70s and the early ‘80s. I’ve gone back to a lot of those inspirations. I feel there’s also some parallel to my second album. I mean it’s a general statement to make because obviously, it’s more than one song, but I think fans will draw some comparisons. […]

“It’s coming back to the music that inspired me to want to become a musician in the first place.”

Speaking about what he thinks is troubling the LGBT+ community Adam revealed, “I think the biggest enemy of the LGBTQ+ community right now is indifference. It’s people just feeling like victims, and then just sitting around and taking it. That’s the problem.

“What’s so exciting right now is that so many people are mobilising and encouraging people to step up. We have to get involved politically. I think a lot of liberals and younger people have felt for a very long time that their voice doesn’t count and that they can’t affect change and there’s this underlying sense of hopelessness, unfortunately.”

The album, Adam’s first, was released 8 years ago.

He said, “The powers that be released a second cover for retailers who felt ‘uncomfortable’ w the original. (Even though I was still fully painted) Hahha seems so funny now…. but just 8 yrs ago it was a much different climate.”
