  • UK Version Of Drag Race Not Coming To Channel 5

While hopes were running high that Drag Race UK could be coming to Channel 5, we’ve got bad news.

A spokesperson for the Channel put a dampener on the rumours that Drag Race UK was coming to Channel 5 saying, “There are no discussions around a UK version of the show”, after The Race Family Facebook page said that they were expecting to reveal more information within the next two weeks.

But is that a light at the end of the tunnel? – “no discussions about a UK version”. Does this mean that they’ll broadcast the US version – taking the crown away from the current home of Drag Race, Netflix.

At the moment the US drag reality show is only available to view on Netflix, to which only a small proportion of the UK are signed up to.

In a recent poll by THEGAYUK found that the Drag Race franchise was voted the most popular gay TV format, beating Queer As Folk, Looking, The L Word and Dante’s Cove.

  • Alexander ONeal Calls Perez “Silly Ass F*ggot”

All is not good in the BB house as Perez’s erratic behaviour goes from bad to worse, ending with Alexander O’Neal using an offensive anti-gay slur.

If you were wondering why Perez was sitting behind the stairs in the last night’s eviction show, it’s because a whole load of shiz had been going on that we didn’t see… (yet).

Earlier on in the day Perez had been antagonising Criticise hit maker, Alexander O’Neal by staring and blowing kisses at him. When Alexander leaves to go to the lounge, Perez follows and sits silently. Eventually, this causes Alexander to tell Perez, “I know what you want but you’re not going to get it…You’re going to sit there with that silly ass fa**ot look on your face”

The other Housemates stop Alexander from making any further comments, as Perez walks away. Katie storms after Perez and tells him, “No one messes with the big guy!”

Perez then discovers that Katie has broken the hare statue, and she is called to the Diary Room.

Later in the diary room Alexander tells Big Brother that he doesn’t feel comfortable in any corner of the House. Big Brother then issues Alexander with a formal warning because of his unacceptable language towards Perez. Alexander apologises for his actions.

Perez tells Big Brother that he needs to speak with his lawyer and initially refuses to sit in the Diary Room chair. He goes on to say that two Housemates have threatened him, and questions whether Alexander can control his emotions. Perez then starts crying and says “I have tried with every ounce of my being to be a professional here” Big Brother reassures Perez that his welfare is a top priority.

Vile homophobia has been directed at Perez Hilton from users on Twitter after he was seen acting out in the Big Brother garden in yesterday’s show. His performance got Michelle Visage all emotional, saying that his behaviour had set back the gay community fifty years.

CBB continues tonight on Channel 5 at 9PM

  • Michelle Visage: Perez Is Setting Our Community Back Fifty Years

Michelle Visage has broken her silence on Perez saying that he has set the gay community back fifty years with his behaviour.

Drag Race Judge, Michelle Visage, has hit out at Perez in a diary room moment, saying that his behaviour is outrageous and that he is setting the LGBT community back 50 years.

During tonight’s episode, Michelle gets emotional and confides with Big Brother that, “What we just witnessed is an outrage” and that Perez “sets our community back fifty years”. Perez is seen in the garden jumping around topless and making sexual noises whilst dry humping the garden furniture, saying, “Oh my God, I just came three times”

She goes on to say, “He’s an embarrassment, I do not want people judging the gay community on this ass.”

In an earlier conversation, she admits that they were never friends in the outside world and he “feigns compassion and love”.

Earlier in the series, Michelle confronted Perez after he failed to reply to her messages and emails. Michelle said that she was big supporter of Perez until he took a “dark turn” and got big headed. It was around that time that Hilton stopped answering her emails. Perez responded saying that he was a “work in progress”.

Michelle is up for eviction tonight after Perez chose her to face the public vote, after calling her one of the “mean girls”.

  • TV REVIEW | Cucumber, Banana, Tofu

    ★★★★ | Cucumber, Banana, Tofu

He’s a clever bugger that Russell T. Bloke – you know the one who is basically is the godfather of Gay TV.

Forget Kim Kardashian breaking the internet, Russell T Davies’s Queer As Folk broke terrestrial television with many asses back in 1999 and it looks as though he’s about to do it again with a brand new interwoven, multi-platform series that celebrates sexual and gender diversity, like no other writer or broadcaster for that matter, has ever done before.

The erect penis has been studied, not just in this office, but scientifically, yes money has been spent on measuring how hard penises are – and they (the scientists) came up with a scale of hardest – from Tofu to Cucumber. Meet Henry, the story which Cucumber, the terrestrial offering from Channel 4. He’s a man in his late forties who hates the gay scene. Absolutely loathes it. It doesn’t resonate with him anymore, the young’un with their apps and inability to hold a conversation longer than their ejaculations. He’s been in a sexless, long term relationship for years and is having a bit of crisis of his placement in ‘the community’; fifteen years on is this how Stuart Jones would have turned out?

But let’s get this straight, as best we can, Cucumber isn’t Queer As Folk 2.0. It’s a different story, a different set of characters. It’s gay-centric, but packs huge laughs, sex and asks the big questions: What do ‘WE’ want? That’s the big ‘WE’ of course – and while Cucumber focuses mainly on a gay man, Banana delves into the world sexuality and gender and rips it open in a way that could break the digital channel.

Banana is the other side of the story. The young guns with their apps and their multi-sexual and gender identities and how these can collide. If Cucumber is generation gay, Banana is generation ‘Whatever’.

Boxes and labels are so 1997/2004, so BBC 3… Generation just-get-on-with-it, are about to have their say, and while viewers on e4 probably won’t bat an eyelid, their parents might just be a little confused at the ever changing landscape.

Then there’s Tofu an on-demand series, this is where the beauty of interwoven, multi-channel programming come into its own. Prepare to see people, yes real people, from all demographics talk about their sex lives. Even legendary Corrie actress Julie Hesmondhalgh talks sex – and as we heard at the press conference, “you heard it here first…”

Potentially not a groundbreaking as QAF, (times have changed) but certainly just as necessary. It is about time than the LGBT demographic had something more than a storyline here and there. We want our own series dammit and Cucumber, Banana and Tofu deliver this in loads… (wipe the smile off your face, you dirty bugger).

  • CBB: Katie Reveals Perez’s ‘Small’ Penis secret

Another day, another truck full of drama from the Celebrity Big Brother house. As the rulers of the fairies continue to shower their power over the other housemates, Katie reveals that the King may be lacking in certain areas.

Talking to Big Brother and questioning how Alicia can be “so, so stupid”, Katie continues her rant and admits that she’ll never get on with Perez concluding with some words of advice. “Someone with a penis that small should never wear leggings.”

Tonight the King Perez and Queen Cami-Li will choose four housemates to face eviction, despite their royal spats at each other. Cami-Li says she can see why Perez has no friends, however, Perez is adamant that the British public love him.

Would you have Perez over for dinner? Vote below for who you want to win CBB 2015.

  • Drag Race To Come To The UK?

The gayverse is all of a buzz after sources said that RuPaul’s drag race could be coming to Channel 5 later this year.

Last year it was reported that Jonathan Ross had obtained the rights to develop a UK version of the hit drag show in the US. Jonathan previously said, “I’ve been working with Jodie on a UK version [of the show]… Unfortunately, we have had to take a break because of some family issues. But we’re hoping to pick it up again in the near future.”

Last month we spoke to La Voix who said that she’d jump at the chance to star in the UK series. La Voix became one of the UK’s most famous drag queens after appearing on Britain’s Got Talent in 2014.

Michelle Visage, who is a judge on Drag Race is currently starring in Celebrity Big Brother which is being aired on Channel 5.

The Race Family page said that they were expecting to reveal more information within the next two weeks. We reached out to Channel 5 for comment on the show, a spokesperson for the channel said, “There are no discussions around a UK version of the show”.

  • Katie Hopkins Was A Big Brother Guinea Pig Pilot In 2000

So this isn’t the first time that Katie Hopkins has been impounded in a house and filmed 24/7.

The Daily Star have dug and dug and have found out gay icon wannabe Katie Hopkins was once a guinea pig for the pilot of Big Brother in before the launch in 2000 and they even have a picture of her swigging cider and flashing her bare bum (oh the shame).

The voice of Big Brother Marcus Bentley confirmed the reports by tweeting, “Katy Hopkins was a guinea pig on the first ever Big Brother !”

Katie Hopkins has become a bit of favourite housemate in this year’s celebrity Big Brother with 14% of THEGAYUK readers wanting her to win. Nadia is currently the favourite to win. Vote who you want to win below.

Yesterday celebrity blogger Perez Hilton, felt the wrath of Katie after questioning her decision to have sex with her now husband, who was married to another man. The pair got into a row which ultimately left Perez in tears.

Today it emerged that Ken Morley was removed from the BB compound after breaking BB’s rules and regulations. He is the second celebrity to be removed after Jeremy Jackson was booted on the 10th January.

  • TV REVIEW | The Hotel, Sometimes it is best to leave a classic alone.

    ★★ | The Hotel

Unfortunately, the new series of The Hotel fails to ignite any excitement but does raise questions on why bother to invest time and money in a programme that is as dull as the hotel’s carpet.

When Mark and the hotel first checked on to our screens, it was fun, it was campy and was an hour of guilty pleasure television as former hotelier Mark Jenkins misdirected his team into more and more moronic situations. However, this time round Mark is stymied at every turn and the programme has become turgid and rather dull.

This season sees Mark return to the Cavendish Hotel in Torbay, except this time, he’s not the boss; he’s the entertainment management. The roof is leaking and finances are at rock bottom. Desperate for a new lease of life, owners Vicky and Andy have agreed to take on the hapless Mark for the season as their new entertainment’s manager. Except the owners, Vicky and Andy won’t let Mark get on to it.

You do have to question why on earth the owners would allow Mark, who has had three hotel disasters himself, take control of anything, especially entertainment, except to possibly bring attention to their ailing hotel.

The programme makers say expect comedy and mishaps, but after watching an episode I’ve decided to take a pass on the rest of the series and check out.

  • Katie Hopkins Will Step On Perez Like A Small Fly

Ooooft, it’s all going on the Big Brother house and after an incident today, Katie Hopkins has made her feelings about Perez Hilton very, very clear.

Perez Hilton will from now on feel the wrath from gay icon wannabe Katie Hopkins, after she screamed at him to be quiet, which brought the celebrity blogger to tears. It all happened when Perez confronted Ken about his behaviour in the house that infuriates Katie. Perez further felt Katie’s anger when he questioned her about sleeping with her now husband when he was still married to a previous woman. Needless to say, Katie was not happy about her actions being questioned.

Enough is enough: Katie Hopkins silences Perez with a hand, letting him know that she has had enough of his voice and his opinions.

Reduced To Tears: Perez tries to answer back but Hopkins’ acid tongue silences and reduces him to tears.

Gleeful: Katie tells Big Brother that she’d like to step on Perez like a small fly.

Later on, Katie tells Big Brother that today’s task made Perez look like “a dingbat” and admits that she is not likely to ever get on with him. She then likens him to a “small fly that I will step on, and will be removed from this House, hopefully by my hand. I’ll be pleased to see him go”

Who do you want to see win?

  • Perez Happy For Another Gay In Big Brother

Perez greeted nineties singer Kavana with pleasure last night with ‘another gay’ comment.

Openly gay Perez Hilton was visibly excited during yesterday’s launch show when Kavana, who came out last year at the age of 36, entered the house. “Another gay” greeted Kavana, who looked somewhat bemused.

However not everyone knew about Perez’s sexuality after former Corrie actor, Ken Morley, who will share a bed with the celebrity blogger, enquired about his sexual orientation. Perez assured Ken that there will be no funny business, however, did go on to tell the group that he can’t share a bed as he gets erect when he comes into close body contact with another person.

Perez Hilton is well known for his celebrity spats. Most recently he and Azealia Banks made headlines and in 2013 Hilton feared for his and his son’s life when he fell out with Lady Gaga.

    Ooo er.

  • Alexander O’Neal Up For The Chop On Celebrity Big Brother

80’s Crooner Alexander O’Neal, as well as Chloe Goodman, are up for the chop from Celebrity Big Brother this Friday, after gay icon wannabe Katie Hopkins decides that the pair are boring.

The self-proclaimed biggest selling R&B artist of 80’s Alexander O’Neal is to face eviction this Friday after Katie Hopkins branded him and fellow housemate Chloe Goodman as the most boring housemates to enter the Big Brother house in yesterday’s launch show. Katie Hopkins was given a secret task in which she had to blast the celebrities as they entered the house and then decide which two celebs were the most boring.

As Katie entered the house she was summoned by the Enchanted Mirror to give a “brutally honest opinions” of her fellow celebrities in 140 characters or less, before being locked away in a secret room.

Katie, who is famous for her honesty was given the most unpopular welcome ever received by an incoming celebrity, she showed no emotion on her reception. She did however show of her brand new figure and slim lined figure after she piled on four stone. Katie recently came under heavy criticism after cyber bullying Gemma Collins for being fat.
