    Who is John Partridge Master Chef, Big Brother and EastEnders star?

    John Partridge is currently starring in Celebrity Master Chef but he actually made his name as an actor playing the openly gay character Christian in EastEnders.

    1) John Partridge is openly gay and he is in a civil partnership with his husband Jon Tsouras. They partnered in September 2011.

    2) He was with Jon for 8 years before they married in front of family and friends in the Trafalgar Tavern pub in Greenwich, South East London.

    3) He was, up until March, his mother’s primary career as she suffers from Alzheimer’s disease. She was diagnosed in 2010. However, she’s now in a care home, because he felt he couldn’t “meet her needs”. John has cited his mother’s illness as one of the main reasons why he wouldn’t be returning to EastEnders.

    4) In 2010 He won Stonewall’s Entertainer of the Year Award.

    5) He has appeared in no less than 7 original cast recording of musicals from Starlight Express to Cats.

    7) He joined Twitter in 2012 and has over 134,000 followers.

    8) John and his partner have a pet dog called Winnie and she’s the cutest thing…

    9) He was in Celebrity Big Brother in 2016. He used the money he earned on Celebrity Big Brother to pay for the care for his mother. In an interview before he went into the house he said, “My mum has Alzheimer’s, I pay for her care and it is expensive. The honest answer is I’m here to pay her bill.”

    10) Apparently he’s a good cook, with risotto being his signature dish.

    11) His husband keeps his feet on the ground warning him to “count to ten”, before opening his mouth. He said, “think about it again and then if it really compels you, then you’re allowed to speak.”

    The brand new cast of The Apprentice 2018 has been unveiled and Frank Brooks is of the hopefuls aiming his sights at winning.

    Frank Brooks is one of 16 contestants hoping to win over Sir Alan Sugar in the fourteenth series of the BBC hit reality show, The Apprentice. Brooks who is London based, is 27 years old and openly gay.

    The hopeful is a senior marketing manager at Thomson Reuters.

    Speaking about his chances in the programme, Brooks said, “There’s no need to watch your back when I’m already two steps in front”. He also said in his audition for the show that he would be a “T-REX” if he was a dinosaur.

    He also thinks that to be good in business was like being good at Karaoke, saying you need to be “confident, command the attention of the room and roll over failure”. He also revealed that his favourite karaoke song was the Take That hit ‘Relight My Life’.

    During Pride in London this year, Brooks was “one of the faces” of Thomson Reuters marching in the famous parade.

    The show returns to BBC on the 3rd October.

    Dr Ranj Singh is most famous for being This Morning‘s and CBeebies doctor, but he’s currently starring in the BBC’s Strictly Come Dancing.

    The doctor isn’t currently married to anyone but has, in the past, been married to a woman. In an interview with the Mirror, he described how he came out as gay to his wife in his 20s. They had been married for 5 years.

    Doctor Ranj Singh now identifies as gay, although he isn’t allowed to dance with a same-sex partner as producers of the show have decided once again to keep the dance partnerships traditional. Despite this Ranj has said that he would have loved to dance with another man.

    He revealed that coming to terms with his sexuality and ending his marriage made him feel as though his heart “had been wrenched out” of his chest.

    “I was completely broken. It was the lowest point in my life. I can only imagine how hard it was for my wife, though – she didn’t deserve any of that. I feel so incredibly sorry for what she had to go through.”

    TV Presenter Rylan Clark-Neal made a name for himself on the X Factor but he was actually on TV before that.

    The openly gay TV presenter Rylan Clark Neal is most known in the UK for his presenting on This Morning and Big Brother’s Big On The Side, but before that he was a singer on X Factor and before that he was on a show called Signed By Katie Price.

    Singing Ambition

    After he appeared on Signed By Katie Price he was contacted by multi-platinum songwriter and producer Jake Hook, who invited him to record a single. The pair worked on a song called ‘Slave To The Beat’ with a view to release it to the UK market. Shortly after they worked together, Rylan auditioned for the X Factor and secured a place on the 9th series, where he placed sixth overall.

    After X Factor, Rylan went on to star and win the 11th series of Celebrity Big Brother – for which he then became the presenter for its side-kick show, Big Brother’s Bit On The Side a show that he’s now fronted since 2013.

    Rylan started to date Big Brother alumn and former policeman, Dan Neal, who appeared in the 14th series of Big Brother. Dan was evicted on day 44 of the series.

    Dan popped the question of marriage to Rylan when they were on a romantic getaway in Paris. Since they’ve been together, Rylan has made it clear that he wants children, but so far the patter of tiny feet eludes the celebrity pair, although Dan has a son from a previous relationship.

    Rylan and Dan got engaged in 2014 and finally married in 2015, Rylan’s surname changed to reflect the marriage, from Rylan Clark to Rylan Clark-Neal. Dan also changed his surname to add in Clark.

    The Adventures Priscilla Queen Of The Desert is one of the most enduring of gay movies and has turned into a cult classic.

    The film was released back in 1994 when times were less accepting and there’s no doubt that Priscilla and its cast have played a part towards LGBT+ acceptance in its home country, Austraila, but also more broadly across the globe.

    The film follows two drag queens and a trans woman who travel to the centre of Australia to play their show in a casino resort. Along the way, they encounter some interesting and dangerous people.

    Is the story based on a real-life story?

    Sadly, although it would make for a brilliant real-life story, The Adventures Priscilla Queen Of The Desert is a work of fiction. Although much of the film’s subtext: intolerance, homophobia and transphobia are very much facets of LGBT+ life.

    The film was written and directed by openly gay director and screenwriter Stephan Elliot. Stephan only came out as gay in 2012, nearly two decades after Priscilla was originally released.
