  • This university asked a comedian to sign a “behavioural agreement” contract

    He said nope.

A University in London has a behavioural agreement contract which it is asking performers to sign before they are allowed to perform on stage.

Comedian Konstantin Kisin was asked to sign the agreement and told about the universities “no tolerance policy” on a raft of issues including sexism, transphobia and homophobia.

The unpaid gig was supposed to be hosted by the School of African and Oriental Studies (SOAS) at the University of London on behalf of university society Unicef on Campus, which has since apologised for the contract and said it “believes fully in freedom of speech”.

Konstantin Kisin shared the contract with Radio 1’s Newsbeat and said that it nearly made him “puke”. He then posted the contract on social media saying,

“I just think it reflects an attitude among a group of people, people at university particularly, where it seems that they have become places of indoctrination rather than learning,

“Students are being taught to prevent offence rather than to seek truth and pursue experiences.

“Universities used to be all about that, but now it seems they’re places where students are being taught to be woke.

“I think it reflects a broader issue, where increasingly there are people who value safety, or what they perceive to be safety.”

The full list of banned topics listed by the organisers were “racism, sexism, classism, ageism, ableism, homophobia, biphobia, transphobia, xenophobia, Islamophobia or anti-religion or anti-atheism”.

The contract said: “It does not mean that these topics cannot be discussed. But it must be done in a respectful and non-abusive way.”

    Apologises

Unicef on Campus told Newsbeat, “Given that Unicef is a children’s charity, we wanted to make sure it was an appropriate event for the cause. We would never wish to impose that guests would have to agree to anything they do not believe in.

    “We apologise for the misunderstanding.”

“It’s a difficult road, to know at a young age that we feel something that makes us believe we are not “right” in the eyes of society. Yet the truth is that if I was born that way, it was because God created me and he wanted it that way.

“To some of you this won’t be news, but to a lot of you, I imagine it won’t have even crossed your mind. Some of you may have thought about it I imagine. What I’m trying to do is come out and say I’m gay.”

  • THEATRE REVIEW | The Band

    ★☆☆☆☆ | The Band

The new show The Band is not, as you might think, a musical about Take That – but it damn well should’ve been.

What we get is a show about four forty-something women who reunite after not having seen other for a long time to see their favourite boy band (now of course no longer a boy band) at a reunion tour concert in Prague. Why Prague you might ask? Because one of the women won a competition to see the band perform there. Why couldn’t one of them have bought tickets to a more local show if they loved the band so much? Well, that would’ve been too easy and would’ve left out one of the major plot points of this show – a broken penis.

Yes, a broken penis. You see, while the women are in Prague, they get a bit carried away and break the penis off of a priceless statue. Now, if this would happen in real life the women would’ve gotten heavily fined, and perhaps jail time. But when said penis, which is attached to a statue that actually does come to life (before the said penis is broken off), with the penis visible for all the audience to see, it makes for one of the most unintentional laughable moments in the West End. It’s not just laughable – it’s shockable! Who signed off on this scene? And this is just the tip of the iceberg. Take That’s big hit ‘Relight My Fire’ is sung while the characters (while still schoolgirls) are on a bus heading home from a concert, with the carefully hand-picked cast of the boy singers dressed up in bondage gear (with horse helmets). And then all of a sudden out of nowhere one of the girls is killed. Hmmm?

Another head scratcher is when the song ‘Never Forget’ is sung by the fab five in an airport lounge. There is also a bit of fat shaming in the show (one of the women is obese). Did I mention that the boys can’t really hold a tune and sing in harmony? Or in tune? Not once is the band introduced as characters, meanwhile, they glossfully sing in the background to scenes that have no real connection to the songs.

This is a jukebox musical that is as empty as a machine with no quarters in it. Sure the songs are great (who doesn’t love a Take That song or two), and one of the women happens to be lesbian, and AJ Bentley has the strongest vocals of all, but what do you expect from a musical show where the singers (boyband) were chosen from a reality television show?

Whoever signed off on this mess should be really ashamed of themselves. Robbie, Howard, Gary and Mark – you listening?

The Band plays at the Theatre Royal Haymarket, London. Book tickets now

  • What’s Cuffing Season? – here’s a dating term you need to know

What’s Cuffing Season? – here’s a dating term you need to know

New dating terms are happening all the time and apparently, it’s “cuffing season” but what does it mean?

    (C) BIGSTOCK

Seventy Thirty‘s team looked at today’s dating terms and let us know what cuffing is and who’s doing it.

Cuffing season; refers to the winter months, when people who are usually happily single start to seek a committed relationship.

With the days getting shorter and the nights longer, the temperature dropping and the trees becoming bare, it’s the perfect time for cosy nights in with your loved one, building a relationship. It is the optimal time of year for past partners to creep up on you, too.

Be on the look out for your single exes!

rawpixel / Pixabay  Will you on be on your ex’s booty call list?

If an ex-partner is single, they might try to come back you to spend these cosy nights in with you.

Clinical psychologist Seth Meyers explains that “our energy levels are lower during the colder weather and we are moodier’” so we have less motivation to organise interesting dates.

This, coupled with poor winter weather, means we have fewer places to go and things to do. This makes us seek out an easier option, such as a past partner.

  • James Bond fans don’t want him to be gay

A poll of Bond fans has revealed that they really don’t want him to gay, but might be okay with him being a woman, non-British or BAME.

Fans want James Bond to remain British, male, straight and white according to a recent poll. The poll conducted by The Hollywood Reporter asked a series of questions about the world-famous spy’s sexuality, colour and gender, to find out how much change, if any, moviegoers could handle over casting a new Bond.

Over half of those asked (52%) said that they were opposed to Bond being gay. Only 15% strongly supported the idea of Bond being gay.

In fact more people were down with the idea of him being American (26 per cent) than gay.

Nearly half (48%) opposed the notion of Bond being female, while 29 per cent were opposed to him being black or mixed raced.

Up until this point all Bonds have been played by a white male, with most coming from England, Wales or Scotland. Only Pierce Brosnan (Irish) and George Lazenby (Austrailian) were born outside the UK.

  • Declan Donnelly’s trouser bulge was very very distracting on last night’s I’m A Celeb

Viewers couldn’t concentrate on last night’s I’m A Celebrity semi-final because of Declan Donnelly’s huge trouser bulge.

The unfortunate (or fortunate, depending on your viewpoint) wardrobe malfunction happened midway through the show when Declan, standing with Holly Willougby reviewed a huge bulge in the trouser area, with some even suggesting the presenter had a “male camel toe”.

The mishap happened towards the end of the show when the presenting duo was letting viewers know how to vote for their favourite celebrity to win the final, but many viewers at home were too distracted by the huge outline in Dec’s trousers, with at least one viewer admitting that they “couldn’t look away”

The biggest reveal happened when Dec crossed his hands over his private area and seemingly pushed down on his trousers causing the material to enhance the outline the lump in his underwear.

Other asked what the male term for camel toe, to which some suggested “moose knuckle”.

  • Celeb deletes his 4 million strong Facebook account for “demonising sexuality”

Celeb deletes his 4 million strong Facebook account for “demonising sexuality”

Chris “Leave her Alone” Crocker has deleted his Facebook social media profile following on from the news that the social media platform has introduced a raft of puritanical bans on sexual talk.

By Chris Cunningham (Email (transferred from the English Wikipedia)) [Public domain], via Wikimedia Commons
Chris Crocker has deleted his Facebook page, which had 4 million people following it, after the news that Facebook had enacted a brand new “sexual solicitation” policy.

The policy could potentially ban gay, bisexual and transgender users from discussing whether they are top or bottoms on the site as it seeks to ban “sexual hints such as (the) mention of sexual roles, positions or fetish scenarios”.

    “Demonizes sexuality”

Chris, who is an internet star, turned adult performer took to Twitter to say that despite the fact he had 4 million followers on Facebook, he would no longer “contribute content to a site that demonizes sexuality”.

Facebook’s community standards say, “Do not post content that engages in implicit sexual solicitation, which can be identified by… using sexual hints such as mentioning sexual roles, sex positions, fetish scenarios, sexual preference/sexual partner preference, state of arousal, act of sexual intercourse or activity (sexual penetration or self-pleasuring), commonly sexualized areas of the body such as the breasts, groin, or buttocks, state of hygiene of genitalia or buttocks.”

The policy change comes just a day after blogging site Tumblr said it was going to remove all adult content from its site.

In a separate Twitter post, Chris wrote:

    The internet is becoming Anti-Sex.

    A long list of bans

Facebook isn’t the first platform to take a stand on sexualised content. Earlier in December,

Tumblr announced it was purging itself of sexualised content.

Sex workers have seen files deleted or removed from their Google Drives

Starbucks said it would be enacted a censorship tool for porn on its in-store WIFI

    Craigslist had its personals shutdown

Reddit has banned all sex-work groups and

Escorting sites such as Rentboys.com has been shuttered.

  • Facebook’s new ban on mentioning sexual roles and preferences are “horrifying”

Facebook’s new ban on mentioning sexual roles and preferences are “horrifying”

Facebook has taken aim at the information you can share about yourself on its platform.

    (C) BIGSTOCK

In a new policy move, Facebook has banned a raft of sexual details which you are no longer able to discuss about yourself on the platform. The policy which is named the “sexual solicitation” policy has been branded as “horrifying” by critics and it could adversely effect LGBT+ users on the platform.

The policy could potentially ban gay, bisexual and transgender users from discussing whether they are top or bottoms on the site as it seeks to ban “sexual hints such as (the) mention of sexual roles, positions or fetish scenarios”.

The platform says it is now “drawing a line” when any conversation leads to a “sexual encounter between adults”.

No nudes, no positions, no roles

It will also ban users from sending nude pictures to each other as the policy specifically bans “offering or asking for nude images”.

Facebook’s community standards says, “Do not post content that engages in implicit sexual solicitation, which can be identified by… using sexual hints such as mentioning sexual roles, sex positions, fetish scenarios, sexual preference/sexual partner preference, state of arousal, act of sexual intercourse or activity (sexual penetration or self-pleasuring), commonly sexualized areas of the body such as the breasts, groin, or buttocks, state of hygiene of genitalia or buttocks.”

The policy change comes just a day after blogging site Tumblr said it was going to remove all adult content from its site.

Global community is sensitive to this kind of content

One of the reasons Facebook has decided on the changes is because it says some in its “global community” may find the content “sensitive”. It also said that some users might find it hard to connect with their “friends and the broader community”.

Looking for a “good time” go somewhere else

    (C) BIGSTOCK

Facebook is also banning suggestive elements such as saying that you’re “looking for a good time tonight”, you’ll also fall foul of the ban if you mention “sexual roles, sex positions, fetish scenarios, sexual preference/sexual partner preference, state of arousal, act of sexual intercourse or activity (sexual penetration or self-pleasuring), commonly sexualised areas of the body such as the breasts, groin or buttocks, state of hygiene of genitalia or buttocks”

  • These are the top signs you’ve “made it”

These are the top signs you’ve “made it”

Flying business class, employing a cleaner and having both Netflix AND Amazon Prime are all ‘signs you’ve made it’, according to research.

scrapmemories / PixabayA poll of 2,000 Brits found taking a trip abroad just to shop, drinking champagne rather than prosecco and owning a hot tub also made the list.

One in ten think an annual ski trip is enough to prove someone’s stepped up in the world, and 38 per cent believe retiring early is a sign you’ve made it.

The research was conducted by PartiStaff, a service which provides glamorous party starters and model servers to customers looking to elevate their gathering.

PartiStaff’s founder and spokesperson Richard Macphillarmy said: “So many of the key indicators that you’ve ‘made it’ in life provide the perfect opportunities to show off.

”But having staff help out and mingle with guests is an affordable and effective way to not only feel like you’ve made it, but to also lift the atmosphere of the party for your guests.

    Gardeners and massage

    Skitterphoto / Pixabay

“Other status symbols are all about outsourcing tasks, and having someone else take care of the boring stuff, whether it’s the after party cleaning, getting the garden ready, or ordering alcohol to your party via an app.’

If people wanted to demonstrate to people around them that they’d made it, one in 10 Brits would throw a lavish party populated by beautiful people.

And one in five would buy a new car to cruise around town in, with a further one in 10 buying a pricey watch or piece of jewellery.

One in five think the ultimate sign you’ve ‘completed life’ are taking holidays abroad simply to shop.

While the 15th most popular suggestion was having a garden big enough to need its own gardener to look after it.

Other ways Brits reckon you know you’ve made it are when you’re able to have a weekly massage session.

And others think doing the weekly shop in Waitrose rather than a more down-market shop is the ultimate sign you’re doing well.

Brits reckon they’d need to earn a whopping £101k a year to be ‘successful’, with a quarter actually hoping for more like £200k.

But six in 10 believe simply owning your own home qualifies as a sign of success in today’s straitened times.

Just one in 20 Brits think they’ve made it in life, without any shadow of a doubt – although a further 37 per cent say they have, to a degree.

On average, Brits who believe they’ve made it managed to do so by the age of 40 – and if it hasn’t happened by 45, it’s too late.

And a sad 45 per cent believe they’ve already left it too late to leave their mark on the world, according to the research conducted through OnePoll.

Macphillarmy added: “Will we all ‘make it’ in life? Making it is subjective anyway, and there are many ways to feel like you’ve made it into a good place.

“Most people feel good about themselves when surrounded by friends, listening to good music and generally letting their hair down.”

“Using PartiStaff can enhance that feeling you’ve ‘made it’ by lifting the atmosphere of your party through hiring beautiful staff to serve the drinks and mingle with guests, taking the hassle and work away allows you to enjoy your own party the way you should

”Having great looking staff work for you at your parties gives you this feeling of having made it to a certain level where you can afford hired help to look after your guests.’

Bianca Del Rio took over Good Morning Britain and it was EPIC

Bianca Del Rio is in the country.

Winner of 2014’s RuPaul’s Drag Race, Bianca Del Rio, was in the Good Morning Britain studios this morning and it was epic. She is, of course, in the UK to promote and perform in her new stand up show, It’s Jester Joke. In fact, she’s making drag history to be the first drag queen to perform at Wembley Arena.

Appearing on GMB, viewers couldn’t help but notice that usual presenter, Piers Morgan, did not conduct the interview and replaced by Ben Shepard. It left people speculating on why Piers had missed out on the interview with Bianca.

One social media user said, “I just find it amusing Piers Morgan wasn’t there. Either he or the producers knew damn well Bianca would tear him a new one”

While another added, “We need @TheBiancaDelRio on GMB every morning! She would SHRED Piers Morgan to pieces!!”

On the show, she also presented the weather with brilliant results! The next Laura Tobin?

Watch Bianca talking about getting away with murder when she’s dressed in drag!
