    One gift for Christmas and Birthday will not do.

    1) We’ve never enjoyed a birthday that’s just a day for us…

    Our birthdays have always been lumped in with other activities – Christmas Eve, Christmas Day, Boxing Day, New Year’s Eve… We’re kind of used to that, but it’d be nice for people just to remember that somewhere in amongst all the other important days, it’s ours too.

    2) We never had that handing out birthday sweets at school thing

    Whilst everyone became king or queen for the day at school when they handed out their birthday sweets or cake, if our birthday falls outside terms times, we’ve never had that experience of being uber popular for a day because we had goodies to give out.

    4) A combined Christmas, Office, NYE, birthday party might be cool

    Actually, we don’t mind this too much – combine the office party or the New Year’s Eve party* with our birthday, just means more people will turn up! Yay us! *See next point.

    5) A New Year’s Eve birthday can totally suck

    Trying to organise or hold a birthday/NYE party is almost impossible because people don’t want to RSVP until the very last minute, just in case something better comes along. Listen, people, every NYE party is going to be expensive, drunken and impossible to travel to and from. Just let us know so we can organise drinks and cheesy nibbles.

    6) Actually New Year’s Day birthdays actually totally suck

    Nothing is open. People are skint. Noone wants to party on New Year’s Day… So if you try and hold a New Year’s Eve Party – see the previous point.

    7) Don’t pity us…

    It happens every year. We get it. Sharing a birthday with someone infinitely more famous than us, like Father Christmas, sucks.

    8) Do not send a joint Christmas/birthday card

    Go on, splash out. Buy two cards. We promise we’ll treasure and display both.

    Yes, we’ve all had birthday presents wrapped up in Christmas paper. It’s okay. TBH we’re just happy you remembered it was our birthday as well.

  • London Man punched repeatedly in a ‘homophobic attack’

    The Metropolitan Police has reported that a man in central London was the subject of a homophobic attack.

    Detectives in London are seeking the public’s help after a man in his 50s was allegedly subjected to an assault in central London in what police are calling a, “suspected homophobic attack”.

    The victim, a man in his 50s, was standing at a bus stop outside Charing Cross rail station on Saturday, 18 November at about 21:30hrs.

    The location of the reported attack is just a few hundred meters away from one of London’s most popular LGBT+ hotspots, the Heaven / G-A-Y nightclub.

    Two men approached the victim and began to shout homophobic abuse at him before punching him several times. He sustained head injuries, but he was not hospitalised.

    After the alleged attack the two men, described as white and in their 20s were seen running towards Trafalgar Square.

    The two men, who were both described as white, aged in their 20s and wearing dark jackets, ran away towards Trafalgar Square.

    Trafalgar Square is particularly important to the LGBT+ community in London as it is where Pride In London has been held for many years.

    There have been no arrests and enquiries continue.

    Witnesses or anyone with information about this incident are asked to contact Westminster Community Safety Unit via 101 or Tweet @MetCC.

    Always watching Netflix, is known for the way it reads and analyses the data it collects on its users – but this took a somewhat creepy turn today when Netflix US asked its 4.2 million followers who had been watching a particular show repeatedly.

    What was probably thought of as a joke, potentially shows a more sinister side of companies and their data collection. Yes, Netflix knows what its millions and millions of subscribers are watching – and when you’re watching it.

    Needless to say, some people had misgivings and questions about the Tweet.

     

     

    Honestly, we don’t mind too much as long as they don’t hold our almost religiously observed RuPaul’s Drag Race viewings against us.

  • So the Stranger Things’ cast is in the MONEY!

    The cast of the Netflix’s superhit, Stranger Things is being paid a lot. Especially when you’re just a teenager. and relatively unknown (well they are all under 16-years-old – give ’em a break)

    It was revealed that each of the cast, Finn Wolfhard (14), Millie Bobby Brown (13), Gaten Matarazzo (15), Noah Schnapp (13) and Caleb McLaughlin (16) are earning a whopping $30,000 per episode.  Eight episodes per season that’s a massive $240,000 PER SEASON.  Nearly a quarter of a million bucks per season – and they’re probably going to be signed up for SIX series of the show.

    That’s according to The Hollywood Reporter.

    Also, the cast was paid “a less than six-figure bonus” – (so sub $100,000 we’re taking that as) as a bonus, because the show has been so successful.

    However, that’s just a starting point – as always, as a show becomes more and more popular, agents and managers can and will start to renegotiate terms for their actors. If the show becomes an Emmy winner – then the teens can expect large windfalls!

  • Stormzy is the BBC’s Artist Of The Year

    The BBC has announced that Stormzy is their “Artist Of The Year” despite homophobic Tweets found on the performer’s Twitter timeline.

    Hip Hop artist Stormzy has been made the BBC’s “Artist Of The Year”. The announcement comes weeks after Stormzy was criticised for homophobic tweets found on his Twitter timeline. Tweets which he later apologised for in a heartful statement.

    He was given the award at the BBC’s annual Music Awards.

    In 2015 the BBC named him on the BBC Influential Sound of 2015 list.

    The tweets, some of which date back to 2011 use homophobic slurs, like “no homo” and “faggot” to blast critics on his social media account. At least one was aimed at an actor for dancing on an advert. The tweets were sent from his account before he achieved chart success in 2017.

    Stormzy self-released his album earlier this year and achieved a number 1 album in the UK charts, selling at least 100,000 records – achieving a Gold disk.

     

     

     

  • Lil Peep’s cause of death officially revealed

    The cause of Lil Peep’s death is revealed.

    A Fentanyl-Xanax overdose caused the out rapper’s death – a toxicology report from Pima County Medical Examiner has revealed. TMZ was the first to report the news.

    They also report that “many other” drugs were also found in his system. According to the reports, the star’s system tested positive for marijuana, cocaine and the painkiller Tramadol.

    The rapper was found, on the 15th November, unresponsive on a tour bus by a manager. Emergency services were called to the scene but were unable to revive the 21-year-old. He was due to perform at The Rock in Tuscon on Wednesday night.

    THEGAYUK.com has learnt that drug paraphernalia was also found at the scene. A spokesperson from the Tucson Police Department said that he had died from a suspected drug overdose. The official cause of his death will be formally announced after an autopsy.

    According to TMZ, Singer’s lawyer, Andrew Brettler said that Cesar Sanchez-Guzman filed for bankruptcy a few years ago, but was able to discharge all his debts.

    Cesar Sanchez-Guzman is using the same legal representation as Michael Egan III, an aspiring actor and model who also accused Singer of sexual misconduct. Egan’s had been looking $75,000 in damages for each of the charges – which were listed as battery, assault, invasion of privacy and intentional infliction of emotional distress.

    The case was withdrawn from the court by Jeff Herman. Jeff Herman is also representing Sanchez-Guzman.

    Singer’s Lawyer added, “The attorney behind this lawsuit is the same lawyer who represented Michael Egan, the convicted felon who sued Bryan Singer in 2014.  In the end, Egan was forced to dismiss that case once the facts came out and his story completely fell apart.”
