  • Everything you wanted to know about escorting but were too afraid to ask

Everything you wanted to know about escorting but were too afraid to ask

There are many professions that involve selling products, goods and services, but how hard can it be when the product you’re selling is yourself? We ask the winner of this year’s Hookie Awards (A more adult version of Britain’s Got “Talent”) all the things you wanted to know about being an escort but were too afraid to ask.

We put your burning questions to Adam Dacre…

What age did you start escorting?

I did it once for a month when I was 23, but I made it a full-time profession at 27.

You’ve just been crowned the UK’s winner of the Hookies. Was there a lot of, ahem, Stiff competition?

There was quite a lot of “stiffness” going on back stage. The competition was very friendly. Even though I was going against big American names, we all became very good friends.

How is the winner declared, do you have to go out with the judges, one night each?

Mostly it’s through online voting. But the regional London contest was also judged by a panel of industry judges and the cheering of the bar audience.

What do you charge for a night and has this changed since winning?

I’m afraid I have to keep this information to myself. Suffice to say this, I haven’t changed my fees since the competition. They are mostly based on my self-worth.

What’s the most bizarre request you’ve had with a client?

I don’t classify anything as bizarre anymore. But I do get a lot of total domination requests: from trampling, scatting, pissing, humiliation, etc.

Do you have age limits you wouldn’t escort for?

    Nothing beyond 100 years old.

Do you have a boyfriend and does he ever get involved with the escorting?

Yes, we often get duo requests and really enjoy working together.

What’s been the most embarrassing experience you’ve ever had?

As a professional escort, I don’t really get embarrassed by anything. Some situations might be more uncomfortable than others, but never embarrassing.

Do you ever escort groups and if so what’s been the largest party?

Yes, I do. The largest would’ve been around 10 people at the time, but with many coming and going.

Have clients ever asked for gifts at the end of the evening?

I did leave a pair of my underwear behind once or twice.

Have you ever escorted anyone famous and if so would you give us a sneaky hint?

One of my clients was a Hollywood producer of a very popular movie series.

What was your first and last client and what did they make you do?

Maybe I am lucky, but both of them were very nice experiences, that I would’ve enjoyed it even if I wasn’t hired. The first one even became a good friend.

How do you prepare between each client?

Depends on what the job requires. Sometimes I have to look immaculate, sometimes I need to be more “au natural”. Whatever the requirements, I always put my mojo on.

Do you ever bottom for clients and if so how do you keep yourself clean?

In my case, it’s very easy, as I am a total top.

Have you ever turned up and refused a client on meeting them?

It happens very rarely, but if a client doesn’t treat you with respect, they are not worth having an experience with you.

  • Anti-Gay Marriage Cake Baker Outlines Appeal Grounds

Anti-Gay Marriage Cake Baker Outlines Appeal Grounds

The Christian-run bakery which refused to bake a pro-marriage cake has outlined its appeal to the judgement that found it had acted unlawfully in refusing the cake order.

The bakery, in Northern Ireland, was found to have acted unlawfully when it refused to make a cake that bore a pro-gay marriage slogan for Gareth Lee, by a court last month. It was ordered to pay £500 in compensation to Mr Lee.

In a statement released by the Christian Institute, an organisation that has funded many appeals against legal matters surrounding gay issues, has raised three questions to support their appeal.

    1. Whether the judge was correct, as a matter of law, to hold that Ashers had discriminated against Mr Lee directly on grounds of sexual orientation.
    2. Whether the judge was correct, as a matter of law, to hold that Ashers had discriminated against Mr Lee directly on grounds of religious belief or political opinion.
    3. Whether the judge was correct, as a matter of law, to hold that Ashers was not entitled to protection as a result of the rights under Articles 9 and/or 10 of the European Convention on Human Rights.

A spokesperson for the Christian Institute, Simon Calvert, believes that “most people” would support an overturning of the ruling that found that the business had acted unlawfully, this despite a poll undertaken in 2014 which showed that the majority supported same-sex marriage.

The Christian Institute is a registered charity that has sought to retain section 28, to raise the age of consent for gay people and opposed the Civil Partnership Act and same-sex marriage act.

The Christian Institute has backed many legal actions in the past, but has been unsuccessful in many attempts, most notably the Christian Institute backed Hotel owners Mr and Mrs Ball, who infamously denied lodgings to a gay couple. Numerous attempts of appeal have all subsequently failed.

  • Gay Ally Ben Cohen Accused Of “Bullying” After Blasting Uber Driver

Longtime LGBT Ally and supporter Ben Cohen has been blasted by some on social media as a “bully” after he blasted an Uber driver for being “horrible” and rude.

The rugby star has been criticised by some fans after he posted a message and photo on his facebook profile of Mohamed Uzair, an Uber driver who he claims “is the most horrible & rudest man”.

He then questioned why the man was working for the app based taxi firm. Uber works via an app by which users can order cars that are closest to them.

Ben has remained tight lipped about exactly what went wrong with the driver. The post on Facebook has now been liked by over 358 people and shared 23 times.

One Facebook member, Neil Rogers, accused Mr. Cohen of making an mistake in posting the message in front of hundreds of thousands of people. He wrote,

“I don’t think you should be putting this up on your page in front of 361k people. That could be considered bullying.”

    Whilst another, Bobby Long, wrote:

“Ben, please don’t use your status for this, he won’t have a nice time with any of your fans who recognise him, he maybe rude, but he will become worse after this.”

    Whilst مصعب المقدسي wrote:

“Ben, that is a shame to use your influence to bully people who are rude to you.”

The firm’s drivers have received their fair share of criticism in the past. In January a gay couple said they were kicked out of an Uber taxi for kissing and cuddling.

In May an Uber driver told Neil Shah and his friend “no gays allowed” when they started kissing. The driver has since been suspended pending an “internal investigation” by the US based firm.

In Oklahoma, USA, the transport bill was re-written by Republican Senator Jason Smalley in April to allow drivers to discriminate against LGBT users. However Uber have made it clear that their policy is not to allow discrimination in any form.

Breaking this policy will result in the removal from the app platform.

  • Welsh Lib Dems Call For End To Gay Blood Ban

Marking National Blood Week, the Welsh Liberal Democrats have called on the Welsh Government to work with the UK Government to end the ban on gay and bisexual men giving blood.

Currently, UK Government guidelines prevent gay and bisexual men from donating blood if they have had sex with another male within the preceding twelve months. Proponents of the ban argue that gay and bisexual men are more likely than any other group to contract HIV, but figures for 2012 show that more people contract HIV through heterosexual sex than homosexual sex.

Welsh Lib Dem AM Peter Black raised the issue in the Welsh Assembly earlier today. The Welsh Minister for Government Business agreed to ask the Minister for Health and Social Services to look at the matter further.

Peter Black AM, the Welsh Liberal Democrat Shadow Equalities Minister, said,

“National Blood Week has brought to our attention that the blood service needs 204,000 extra donors to meet demand. Given this huge demand for blood donors, I completely fail to understand why the ban on men who have sex with men giving blood is still in place.

“This ban not only turns away thousands of willing and healthy potential donors, but it also serves to reinforce negative stereotypes about gay and bisexual men. Straight people get HIV too, and all donated blood is tested for HIV and other diseases before being transfused for precisely that reason.

“The sooner this unfair and discriminatory ban is lifted, the sooner our blood services can benefit from a greater supply of donated blood and more lives can be saved.”

  • BRIAN PADDICK: UKIP Should Be Allowed To March In Pride

Speaking to PinkNews Brian Paddick has condemned the decision to ban UKIP LGBT from London’s pride event.

Originally Pride In London organisers had allowed the LGBT GROUP for UKIP to enter the parade in this year’s march, however following a backlash the board reversed their decision, citing “safety” concerns. The group’s spokesperson decried the decision saying it was “a sad day for diversity and freedom.”

Speaking to PinkNews, newly-appointed Lib Dem Home Affairs spokesman Lord Paddick condemned the move by the board by saying,

“After years of campaigning to be acknowledged and accepted by society, the last thing LGBTI people should be doing is excluding a group gays and lesbians from Pride that has a legal right to exist.

“The police and organisers should be facilitating their right to peacefully and safely participate, not using understandable hatred of UKIP as an excuse to ban them.”

This week Lord Paddick confirmed to THEGAYUK that he was backing Tim Farron to replace Nick Clegg has the Lib Dem’s leader.

  • University Awarded £50,000 To See Whether Calling Toilets “Gents” Or “Ladies” Is Discriminatory

A research team from Sheffield Hallam University have been awarded nearly £50,000 to discover whether the terms “Gentlemen” “Ladies” and “Men’s Toilets” are accessible.

The award from the Arts and Humanities Research Council is to fund research on the way public toilets are designed, ” in an effort to assess if they are fit for purpose for the UK’s diverse 21st Century society.”

Led by Sheffield Hallam University’s Dr Jenny Slater, the Around The Toilet project is looking at the lack of adequate or accessible toilet provision for disabled and transgender people, amid fears that definitions such as “Gentlemen” “Ladies” and “Men’s Toilets” are out-dated and discriminatory.

Dr Slater, from Sheffield Hallam University’s new Sheffield Institute of Education, will lead a project team including the University of Leeds, University of Sheffield, Action for Transgender Health, Greater Manchester Coalition of Disabled People (GMCDP) and Queer Of The Unknown Arts Collective on the nine-month project.

    She said,

“Toilets may seem a frivolous subject but they are at the heart of important discussions about how we understand our own identities. The starting point for us is to explore how disabled people and those identifying as trans, gender-queer or non-binary are treated in modern society.

“As well as issues around toilet closures we have much anecdotal evidence that suggests there is a lack of suitable facilities for our diverse population.

“This project will also consider issues of race, ethnicity, age, religion, faith and homelessness through reflective storytelling, creative arts and performance.”

Along with the announcement of their research, Dr Slater has also encouraged members of the public to post their experiences of toilets in Sheffield and beyond.

  • Gay Icon Shirley Bassey To Be On £20 Note?

With the Bank of England holding a public poll to pick the next face to appear on the new £20 note, one of the UK’s leading voices on popular culture has called for a black Briton to be celebrated on the note, with Welsh singer Dame Shirley Bassey their chosen candidate.

Professor Ellis Cashmore, Visiting Professor of Sociology at Aston University and author of Celebrity Culture and Beyond Black: Celebrity and Race in Obama’s America, says Bassey is the perfect choice as the face of modern British culture.

    Professor Cashmore comments:

“Born into poverty to a Nigerian father and Welsh mother, going on to sell more than 130million records and sing no fewer than three Bond theme tunes, she became a diva to compare with the likes of Judy Garland, Barbra Streisand and Mariah Carey. Dame Shirley Bassey is known and admired around the world; she symbolizes not only a very British kind of success, but the multiculturalism and diversity the British establishment needs to welcome.”

Professor Cashmore argues that “dead white males” have for too long dominated the face of the notes and that the public should back a black British hero on the £20 note. He says:

“From Paul Ince, the first black England football captain to cricketer and coach Basil D’Oliveira, modern British culture has an array of national treasures that aren’t the usual male, pale and stale stereotypes. We should reflect the achievements of people like Ince, D’Oliveira, and yes, Dame Shirley by putting their faces on that very British symbol, the £20 note.”

  • Pride London bans UKIP LGBT from March

London’s pride event has banned UKIP’s LGBT group from marching in the parade over “safety fears”

Pride London’s committee has rejected UKIP Pride’s application to march in the world famous parade.

The board of Pride London released a statement that said,

“For this year we have reached the decision that UKIP’s application to join the Pride in London Parade, 27th June 2015, will be turned down.

“This decision has been made after careful consultation in order to protect participants and ensure the event passes off safely and in the right spirit, it has not been made on a political basis.

“We appreciate many in our community have strongly held views about UKIP, their policies and comments, but is undeniable that there are LGBT+ members of UKIP, including their MEP for Scotland, and it is important to remember that Pride in London aims to be an inclusive event.

“However, of paramount concern to us is the experience of all participants at Pride, most especially the position we would be putting our volunteer stewards in.”

A petition for the ban of UKIP LGBT had reached just 2383 supporters.

UKIP LGBT decried the ban saying it was “a sad day for diversity and freedom.”

  • EXCLUSIVE: Brian Paddick Backs Tim Farron For Lib Dem Party Leader

Britain’s highest profile out Liberal Democrat member, Lord Brian Paddick has officially backed MP Tim Farron in the race for party leader.

    • Tim Farron “100% Behind LGBTI Rights”
    • Both Tim Farron and Norman Lamb have been nominated, now the party’s 61,000 members will decide who will be leader
    • Brian Paddick confident in Farron’s grassroots approach to politics

Liberal Democrat peer Brian Paddick has revealed exclusively to the THEGAYUK that he is officially backing ex-Lib Dem party chairman Tim Farron, for leader, after it was revealed that both Tim Farron and Norman Lamb were successful in their nomination for the role that will undoubtedly be a tough struggle to rebuild the Liberal Democrats after a shattering defeat in the General Election.

The contest for the party’s leadership was sparked by the resignation of Nick Clegg last month after the party lost 49 seats.

Brian Paddick who was elevated to the House of Lords in 2013, has thrown his weight behind the Westmorland and Lonsdale MP, by championing his leadership and campaigning skills, which have enlivened grassroots activists and the Lib Dem membership.

“I have to be honest here and say that I didn’t think I would ever come to say this, being a supporter of Nick Clegg when he was leader, and bearing in mind on a couple occasions Tim Farron didn’t make some particularly helpful interventions, but I am supporting Tim Farron for leader of the Liberal Democrats, because I think he is exactly the person that the party needs when you consider the position that the party is in at the moment.

“Tim Farron has shown himself in being a master of connecting with activists and with ordinary members; he did a fantastic job as President of the party.

“He developed links with all parts of the country, got to know people in practically every corner of the UK, coupled with the fact that he’s very enthusiastic and has loads of energy.

“If we had been in a different situation and maintained the numbers of MPs that we had, then maybe it would be a different story, but I believe Tim Farron is the leader the Liberal Democrats need at this time.”

“We’ve got to build the party from the ground up and there’s one thing that Tim Farron is excellent at, and that is ground level politics.”

When asked if Tim Farron had the right showmanship for leadership and whether in future Leaders’ debates he would turn people on, Brian laughs and says,

“He’s not my type to be honest, but he is a very effective communicator.”

Tim Farron has attracted some criticism after he abstained from voting on same-sex marriage. He also voted to delay passage of the same-sex marriage bill, arguing that more time was needed to analyse the impact on religious groups.

Speaking about Farron’s record on voting Paddick remarked,

“Tim Farron has come under a lot of criticism from people who either deliberately or simply misread Tim’s position when it came to votes in the House of Commons on equal marriage,

“He did ask for a change in the timetable to allow more discussion over complex issues around people who have honestly held beliefs who are currently employed as registrars, for example, who would feel very uncomfortable because it conflicts with their faith to conduct an equal marriage ceremony. He felt not enough time had been allowed in the parliamentary time belt to discuss those issues.

“He has made it absolutely clear subsequently, he was specifically asked by a group of Christians, if there was a equal marriage repeal act or bill to reverse the decision he would absolutely not support that in any way shape or form.

“As the Liberal Democrats’ gayest highest profile member I am absolutely confident that I can vote for Tim Farron and that he is absolutely 100% behind LGBTI rights.”

The Liberal Democrats’ 61,000 members will now be able to cast their vote for the person they’d like to see as leader. Ballot papers will be sent on the 24th June, with results announced on the 16th July.
