The 78-year-old star took to Facebook to slam Ms. Davis, who was jailed for contempt of court. He said,

“So let us be clear: This woman is no hero to be celebrated. She broke her oath to uphold the Constitution and defied a court order so she could deny government services to couples who are legally entitled to be married.”

Ms. Davis who left the jailhouse to the ‘Eye Of The Tiger’ soundtrack yesterday to applause and cheers she cried,

“Thank you all so much, I love you all so very much. I just to give God the glory his people have rallied and you are a strong people. We serve a living God, who knows exactly where each and everyone of us is at. Just keep on pressing. Don’t let down, because he is here.”

Mr. Takei went on to suggest that while she was entitled to her beliefs but should not break the law whilst practising them, saying,

“In our society, we obey civil laws, not religious ones. To suggest otherwise is, simply put, entirely un-American.”

The Kentucky clerk was released from jail and is expected to return to work shortly. It has not appeared that she has changed her mind and risks breaking the law if she continues to deny gay couples marriage licenses.

Calls have been made for Ms. Davis to step aside if she is unable to fulfil her job.

  • Ivan Massow Backs Zac Goldsmith For London Mayor

Ivan Massow, has backed MP Zac Goldsmith for London mayor in 2016 and is inviting those who backed his campaign to vote for the MP, when the time comes, as well.

Four declared Conservative candidates are now vying for the votes of Londoners for the 2016 Mayoral race, which will see Boris Johnson’s tenure as London’s mayor end.

The four candidates which were successfully chosen by the Conservative party are: openly gay Andrew Boff, MP Zac Goldsmith, Deputy Mayor for policing and crime Stephen Greenhaigh and Syed Kamall, who is an MEP for London.

Ivan Massow had mounted his own campaign to run for mayor but was unsuccessful at the primaries stage that saw him lose out to four Tory in-siders, including MP Zac Goldsmith. A statement from the businessman said,

“He believes that Zac is the only candidate with the gravitas and potential, not just as a Conservative candidate, but also as Mayor – to carry the torch of Ivan’s ideas on social mobility, policing and even more so – how London can further embrace entrepreneurship, micro business, incubators and mentoring.”

Zac Goldsmith voted in favour of the same-sex marriage law in 2013, and has consistently voted in favour of pro-LGBT laws.

Calls have been made to throw law breaking Kentucky clerk, Kim Davis, who has refused to give a gay couple a marriage license, in jail.

Writing in an article for New Republic, Brian Beutler called for the jailing of Kim Davis, the woman who has twice denied a gay couple a marriage license, despite a High Court ruling that she must.

He warned against any other punishment such as fines as any “attempt to force her hand risks making her a bigger martyr than she already is on the religious right”, and would see her likely “reap a windfall” from a crowdsourcing site campaign, much like the Sweet Cake bakers and Memories Pizza owners. Memories Pizza eventually collected over $800,000 in donations.

Due to her religious beliefs Kim Davis, 49, who is on her fourth marriage, is refusing to hand out a marriage license to a gay couple, even though there is a federal court order for her to do so.
