  • Piers Morgan called “cis” and it went as well as you’d imagine

Piers Morgan called “cis” and it went as well as you’d imagine

Once again, the team at GMB decided to tackle Trangender issues following on from JK Rowling’s new book, Troubled Blood about a crossing dressing killer.

Over the weekend, the author’s new book stoked a huge backlash on social media, with #RIPJKRowling become a worldwide trend, after transgender activists took issue with the book’s concept.

Piers and Suzanna were hosting a debate on Good Morning Britain on Wednesday morning, about the public’s reaction to JK’s new book and who should have the right to write about books where the main character was transgender.

GMB booked Benjamin Butterworth (again) to speak about issues surrounding identity politics (because clearly there’s no one else to talk to about transgender issues…) and was answering a question on whether Piers would be able to write a book about a transgender killer, which Benjamin thought might be a problematic concept.

When pushed by Piers to see if it would be okay for him to write about a “person like me” doing all the killing, Benjamin answered, that there were a lot of “cis, rich white men…”

This is when Piers pushed back on the language used by Benjamin saying, “I’m not cis. Don’t call me cis. I’m a white guy. Just call me a white guy.

“Cis is language you use that I don’t even understand.”

We’re not entirely sure why Piers Morgan gets so upset up about gender politics, especially as he does (or has, we can never keep up) identify as a penguin.

Piers Morgan’s “trans slender” Tweet was GMB’s most popular post

ITV digital bosses admitted that Piers Morgan identifying as skinny was its most successful post in April, with over 1.6 million engagements.

Back in April Piers Morgan said that he identified as skinny and apparently the accompanying social media post on Twitter sent users into a “frenzy” according to ITV’s digital team for Good Morning Britain, which sent an all staffer email to highlight the digital engagement.

Piers posted a Tweet in which he called himself “trans slender”, whilst announcing during a live broadcast, on Good Morning Britain saying that he was identifying as a skinny person.

GMB tweeted the news, highlighting it as an “exclusive announcement”.

According to the email, over 1.6 million people engaged with the post generating over 10,000 comments, shares and retweets. Digital bosses highlighted the engagement in bold red, to show off how significant the digital reach was for the programme.

Piers celebrated the news by tweeting “Trans-slender power”.

At the time, Piers was criticised for saying that he identified as skinny, with TV’s Doctor Ranj calling him out saying that the jokes said by Piers could be harmful to vulnerable people. The Strictly Come Dancing star implored Piers, as a medical professional to stop doing it – a request that didn’t go down too well with the ever outspoken Piers.

In his response to Dr Ranj, Piers wrote, “Hi Ranj, I am getting a little tired of humourless ‘woke’ berks like you telling me what gender-related jokes I can & can’t make on TV for entertainment… I implore you: PLEASE don’t do it.”

  • Andi Peters has viewers fuming after awkward exchange live on air

Andi Peters has viewers fuming after awkward exchange live on air

Andi Peters has left Good Morning Britain viewers fuming after a Christmas competition viewer admitted that she hadn’t received a single prize.

Andi Peters was left a little awkward today after a competition prize winner from Christmas admitted that she hadn’t received her winnings despite being two months on from Christmas.

Andi Peters who helps present on ITV in the morning boasted that the prize winner from the 2018 Christmas draw should have won a brand new Mercedes car, over £100,000 in money and a “gadget pack” for the family, however, the winner, Sue, revealed that she had not yet received the prizes.

Andi then made light of the gaffe, by taking the winner by the arm and leading her to the studio doors, suggesting that the prizes were behind the doors, however it turned out to be a cruel joke.

Speaking to the camera Andi said, “Real viewers win our competition prizes all the time and I’ve got a winner here. If you remember our Christmas competition, it was a massive prize worth over £200,000 – and the winner was our lovely Sue.”

He then took Sue’s arm and said, “Well come with me Sue, because through these doors… there’s absolutely nothing.”

Viewers weren’t happy with the exchange with many taking to Twitter to fume, One commented, “#GMB I think it’s disgusting that the Christmas competition winner has not received her prize by almost March. She should at the very least have had the money. That should be next day.”

A viewer added, “So the Christmas winner has won big prizes but yet we are near the end of February and she’s not had any of them Why would anyone want to enter the competition now knowing this Bad advertising #GMB.”

  • This doctor thinks he can “cure” homosexuality

Meet Doctor Davidson, he thinks he can cure us…

This doctor thinks he can "cure" homosexuality

Right people, we’re calling in sick, because this doctor clearly believes that we can be cured.

Speaking on Good Morning Britain this (formerly gay) Doctor asked where the evidence that homosexuality is “innate” and “unchangeable” was.  Apparently, Doctor Mike Davidson helps up to 14 people a WEEK “locate the trauma that triggered their homosexual feelings”.

    He said,

“I believe that people are not born gay, that they come into homosexual feelings, and that it is something that in some cases is reversible for people who want to make that the trajectory of their lives.

“It’s inconsistent with some people’s value systems and they want to be true to themselves. I think we’re here today because there’s clearly a population group who feel they are not comfortable with homosexual expression, and they want out of it”.

The doctor claims he’s turned away from homosexuality by prayer, counselling and psychotherapy – and has been married to his wife for 35 years.

Piers Morgan, who was presenting the show, along with Susanna Ried, literally burst…

“We have a word for people like you in this country. We call them bigots! In my view, you are a malevolent and dangerous part of our society!

“What’s wrong with you? Who are you to say such things?

“Do you really think homosexuality is something that needs to be cured? Why don’t you shut up, you old bigot! This is utterly ridiculous!”

“Has it crossed your bigoted mind that gay people may not want to find your path? Maybe they are quite happy being gay and don’t want to be ‘cured of this abomination’ because that is deeply offensive!

“Why don’t you put a cork in it? I’ve had enough, Dr Michael, just shut up!”

GMB is on ITV weekdays from 6 AM

  • Did Downton Dan “Beat Off” Other Men For The Part?

Did Downton’s Dan Stevens provide ‘personal services?

Dan Stevens (aka Matthew Crawley on Downton Abbey) was on Breakfast TV recently to promote his new movie The Guest in which he plays an American soldier.

Host Susanna Reid sent Stevens into a fit of giggles when she asked a question that suggested it took more than a simple audition to get the role. She asked the star if he had to “beat off a lot of American men to get this part?”

To make matters funnier the hapless interviewer still didn’t get her faux pas … and incidentally the very good-looking Stevens didn’t actually give a direct answer!
