It’s fair to say that ‘Believe’ singer Cher is not a fan of the Republican presidential candidate Donald Trump after likening him to Adolf Hitler on Twitter.

Speaking to her 3 million followers on Twitter the iconic singer posted a picture of a two similar portraits that feature both Donald Trump and Hitler. The picture with Donald Trump features him wearing the same clothing as Hitler and with the swastika emblazoned on his arm.

    She captioned the picture,

“I Will Make Germay [sic] Great Again!! I Will Make America Great Again!! I Would (love) 2 Know LAST TIME HE THOUGHT (the US) WAS GREAT”

She went on to blast Trump by calling him a “coward” after claiming that his father managed to get his son deferments from the Vietnam war.

“TRUMPS A COWARD,WHOSE RICH DAD GOT HIM 4 DEFERMENTS,WHILE BRAVE MEN DIED !! TRUMP SAID HIS VIETNAM WAS SCREWING (emjois of chicks) , WONDER WHAT HIS PTSD WAS!?”

It came to light this year that Trump was kept out of fighting for the US during the Vietnam conflict.

Earlier in the year Cher, who turns 70 this year suggested that Trump didn’t actually want the job of President saying,

“I don’t think he wants the job, or I don’t think he actually wants to do the work. I think he wants the job because it’s the ultimate deal, and he’s the ultimate ego. I don’t know that I’ve heard or seen anybody like him, and I also never thought that Americans would go for someone like him, a person of his quality.”

Cher is not the only icon who has criticised Mr Trump. Bette Midler has taken swipes and Adele has refused him permission to play her songs at his rallies.

Donald Trump, it seems has an unlikely fan in the form of the openly gay TV presenter Dale Winton. Mr Winton gushed about the Republican presidential candidate in an opinion piece for the Conservative Woman, explaining that he felt “compassion” for Mr. Trump and that he had the stalwart TV presenter’s attention even before he had uttered a word.

The Mirror reports that the former Supermarket Sweep presenter admitted that he is a “closet fan” of American politics and said that the article was his “coming out article”.

The 61-year-old presenter also hinted that he empathised with the multi-billionnaire businessman over the criticism of his tan. Mr Winton said,

“As one who has spent his entire professional life being ridiculed for my ‘fluorescent tanned complexion’, I felt compassion for the man before he even uttered a single word.”

Dale Winton also said that he thought that Mr Trump was “truly authentic” and “fearless” and praised his battle against political correctness.

Speaking about his admiration for Trump he said,

“For sure he’s unruly, coarse and extreme, but he’s got a rare quality for someone in politics. He is truly authentic. Is it because he cares and he’s supported by a wonderful family including two ex-wives?”

Winton, who came out as gay in 2002 in his autobiography also heaped praise on the anti-gay republican commentator Pat Buchanan, who said in 1983 that gay people, “declared war upon nature, and now nature is extracting an awful retribution.”

He also cited Charles Krauthammer who said that same-sex marriage was “a huge loss for democracy”, as one of the commentators who kept his sanity in the last four years of Obama’s presidency.

He justified his affection for Trump saying,

“Maybe it’s because I’m a quiz show host and I’m watching the ultimate game show? The contestants from both parties are fighting to the bitter end in the hope of winning four to eight years in the White House?”

A new report reveals that thousands of innocent porn consumers and in particular gay men could find themselves facing jail time because of the UK’s laws surrounding porn consumption.

The Adam Smith Institute who released the report are calling on David Cameron to abandon the “absurd” pornographic laws. The report argues that there is no concrete evidence that pornography increases cases of sexual violence, and that the laws – designed to convict paedophiles and necrophiliacs – are so broad that they threaten the private sexual matters of over half of Britain.

The report suggests that obscenity law needs to be redrafted as the current legislation is so sweeping that even those who receive unsolicited images on Whatsapp, for example, could find themselves charged with possession of extreme pornographic images.

What are the UK’s porn laws?

In December 2014 pornography produced in the UK was subject to strict rules. The types of scenes which studios could film were severely restricted with an amendment to the 2003 Communications Act.

Some of the activities banned by the Conservative government could overtly affect the porn consumption of gay men in the UK – including those who watch BDSM, rimming (facesitting) and fisting.

The two latter viewed by the BBFC as potentially “life endangering”.

A  list of banned scenes in the UK was drawn up by the Independent and includes:

    Spanking

    Caning

    Aggressive whipping

Penetration by any object “associated with violence”

Physical or verbal abuse (regardless of  if consensual)

    Urolagnia (known as “water sports”)

    Role-playing as non-adults

    Physical restraint

    Humiliation

    Female ejaculation

    Strangulation

    Facesitting

    Fisting

A survey by the British Sexual Fantasy research Project in 2007,  of 19,000 adults in the UK, found that 86% of men and 56% of women admitted to having viewed pornography, with a third of adults fantasising about playing a dominant or aggressive role during sex, and a third fantasising about being submissive.

Six per cent of UK adults, or approximately 2.9 million men and women, admitted to privately having violent sexual fantasies of some kind, meaning that hundreds of thousands of normal people who pose no specific risk of committing sexual offences could be targeted as criminals under the extreme porn law.

Sam Bowman, Executive Director of the Adam Smith Institute said,

“Most people don’t want the government in their bedrooms, but that’s what extreme porn laws do. This report highlights just how bad these laws really are – they turn millions of law-abiding adults into potential criminals simply for enjoying consensual spanking or dressing up in the bedroom. The evidence is very clear that pornography does not drive violence, and indeed it may reduce it. These are badly drafted laws that should never have made it to the statute books, and this report confirms the urgent need for the government to scrap them.”

Nick Cowen, author of the paper said,

“The extreme porn ban criminalises depictions of sex acts even if they are safely performed by consenting adults. We have seen the law used, in particular, to target and expose gay men. Each such case represents a personal tragedy and a disgraceful use of our criminal justice system’s scarce resources. The costs of the law are disproportionate to any public benefit, and as implemented cannot plausibly protect women’s interests for which the ban was supposedly introduced.”

  • Seychelles End Legal Ban On Gay Sex

The Seychelles’ government have passed a bill which repeals the ban on sex between gay men.

The Seychelles has decriminalised homosexuality in a historic move which the government hopes will lead to a growth in LGBT travellers to the region.

The  Seychelles, which is made up of 115 islands in the western Indian Ocean was part of a number of countries where homosexuality is illegal. The law, which was introduced in 1955 was a hangover from British colonial rule – although convictions were very rare, but those found guilty could be sentenced to prison for up to 14 years.

Female same-sex relationships were not legislated against.

Section 151 of the Penal Code read,

    Any person who –

    (a) has carnal knowledge of any person against the order of nature; or

    (c) permits a male person to have carnal knowledge of him … against the order of nature,

is guilty of a felony, and is liable to imprisonment for fourteen years.

The government signalled their intent in 2011 to remove the ban, but the penal code amendment has only just taken place, without a referendum.

According to the Seychelles News Agency (SNA), 28 members of the National Assembly were present for the vote on Section 151’s amendment.

Fourteen voted in favour of scrapping the homophobic law, whilst Fourteen abstained. Four members did not show for the vote.

Parti Lepep, a representative from the ruling party said, as well as appreciating diversity in terms of race and religion, politicians also needed to fight for sexual orientation equality.

The founder of The Seychelles’ only advocacy group for LGBTS, Fabianna Bonne,
    told SNA,

“The loudest message that abstaining sent was that they were not going to stand in the way of this change of law happening and we at LGBTI Seychelles appreciate that,” said Bonne.

“Our focus will now be more on educating all of our society about LGBTI as we have noted that misconceptions and negative stereotyping is very widespread on this subject. Our aim however remains full equality across all aspect of citizenship for after all, we pay our equal share of taxes and participate actively in the development of our country,”

Speaking at an IDAHOT reception yesterday evening Prime Minster David Cameron said that he wanted to make the UK the number 1 place for LGBTI people to live again, after the UK slipped two places behind Malta and Belgium.

Speaking to an invited audience at 10 Downing Street ahead of the International Day Against Homophobia, Transphobia and Biphobia, Mr Cameron said,

“Last year, I’d have been able to say how proud I was to be Prime Minister of what was officially the best country in Europe to be gay, bisexual or transgender – but that’s no longer the case.

“Malta has overtaken us! I don’t know quite what happened – I’ve got to get out to Malta and find out because I want this top spot back again.

He went on to praise LGBTI community leaders and thanked them for their continuous help and for keeping up the pressure on the Conservative government on issues that affect the community at large, saying that politicians were like computers and if you put rubbish data in you’d get rubbish results out.

    The PM continued,

“I want to thank you for all the work that you do, because in many ways politicians are a bit like computers: you don’t give us the information, we can’t act. Rubbish in, rubbish out.

“We need quality information and quality facts, and I think we’ve showed in the Coalition government over the last five years and I hope in this majority government too that we take these issues seriously.

“We want to solve the problems, whether it’s legislation, whether it’s practise, whether it’s culture, or whether it’s talking around the world.”

  • Prime Minister Wants NHS To Make Decision On PrEP This Month

Prime Minister David Cameron has told the House of Commons that he wants NHS England to make a decision on funding Pre Exposure Prophylaxis PrEP Drugs on the National Health Service.

    PrEP and pills

During his Prime Minister’s Questions (PMQs) today, David Cameron told the House Of Commons that he wanted a decision from NHS England this month on whether they would fund PrEP, a game changing anti-HIV drug, that has had incredible results in stopping new HIV infections.

The PM said that he recognised the growing rate of HIV in the UK and that he was pressing for a decision about the service’s ability to offer the PrEP drugs to those most at risk of contracting HIV.

During his PMQs MP Mike Freer asked,

“HIV infection rates are on the rise. NHS England has refused to fund Pre Exposure Prophylaxis (PrEP) drugs. Will he meet with me and leading charities to review?”

    Responding, David Cameron said,

“NHS England is reconsidering this, I want them to make a decision this month. I recognise the growing rate of HIV in this country. I’ll make sure he gets the meetings he needs.”

NHS England said that it would continue to pay for PEP, a treatment that can prevent HIV infection after the virus has entered a person’s body, but has fallen short from offering PrEP.

Ian Green, CEO at Terrence Higgins Trust, welcomed the statement saying,

“We welcome David Cameron committing NHS England to making a long overdue decision on HIV prevention game changer, PrEP, this month. Thank you to Mike Freer for continuing to champion this life changing HIV prevention tool.

“We urgently need NHS England to make PrEP available for those most at risk. Every day this is delayed, seven men who have sex with men are infected with HIV.”

Michelle Visage’s ex-bestie, Katie Hopkins has taken to social media to say that if Labour mayoral candidate Sadiq Khan should win the election today that she’ll strip naked… and stick a sausage up her bum in protest.

Just that vision… let it meld in your mind for a moment…

The outspoken radio presenter and columnist has nailed her flag to the mast and she definitely doesn’t want a Labour winner.

She hasn’t commented on the type of sausage she’d use, some are speculating on whether it would be a Linda McCartney veggie or a good old British pork.

Openly gay London mayoral candidate Peter Whittle has told London Live that he’s never heard homophobia in UKIP – despite Councillor David Silvester infamously suggesting that bad weather in the UK was being caused by gay marriage and candidate for cabinet Alan Craig calling LGBT activists the ‘Gaystapo’.

London Live, the capital’s TV channel, interviewed, Peter Whittle last night for its new weeknight London Mayoral election show, London Votes. Daisy McAndrew, spoke to the UKIP candidate for Mayor of London who suggested he had never heard any homophobia in UKIP.

Peter also thinks that there is nothing homophobic about his party, even when presented with the controversial remarks from UKIP south west candidate for cabinet, Alan Craig.

Alan Craig referred to LGBT activists as the ‘Gaystapo’ in a blog post published in 2011. He said,

Their gay-rights storm troopers take no prisoners as they annex our wider culture, and hotel owners (here) and (here), registrars (here), magistrates (here), doctors (here), counsellors (here) and (here), foster parents (here), grandparents (here), adoption agencies (here) and traditional street preachers (here) and (here) find themselves crushed under the pink jack-boot.

When asked to comment on Mr. Craig’s comments, Mr. Whittle denied that there was homophobia in UKIP saying and said that Mr. Craig was ‘entitled to his own view’.

“It tends to prove that in fact there is nothing homophobic about my party. I am the only gay candidate standing for mayor.”

“Ok, I have shared a platform with this guy. I don’t necessarily agree with his remarks, I for example believe in gay marriage. I’m fine with gay marriage. There are people in my party who are not.

“I am the Mayoral candidate, I’m number one on the list, I have never come across homophobia in UKIP. There are lots of gay people in UKIP, we have our own LGBT section in UKIP.”

“The guy is entitled to his view.”

“The party absolutely accepts what the law is now, it’s not even an issue anymore – the reason for that opposition, was never against civil partnerships, ever. They were worried that basically the EU – remember my party  is based on an opposition to the EU, would force churches or what have you through the European Court of Justice to hold ceremonies, it’s actually something more to do with Europe.”
