  • Christopher Maloney says his body dysmorphia is “in remission”

The X Factor star says he now feels comfortable having put on 3 stone in weight.

X Factor star Christopher Maloney, 40, says he now feels comfortable with his body after body dysmorphia left him unable to leave his home for 18 months. He says he’s put on three stone since July and now feels really comfortable with his body weight.

Appearing on Loose Women in a Santa costume the singer revealed that he had put on three stone since his last appearance in July, after seeking treatment for his body dysmorphia. He told the Loose Women panel that he had 30 sessions of Transcranial magnetic stimulation (TMS) which he believes has put his dysmorphia in “remission”.

Yesterday he told the panel,”‘I feel fantastic since I was last on the show. I was 11 stone when I came on and now I’m 14-and-a-half. When I had the treatment, the TMS treatment, I gained from eating stuff.

He continued, “I used to feel very guilty about eating. It used to upset me but now I’m just eating and putting on healthy weight.

Christopher went on to say, “I had counselling and treatment in August and my body dysmorphia has gone into remission, I’m really relieved.

He told the panel that after his previous appearance on the show in July he was left with cripling depression, after being made to view his body in a mirror. When he left the show he found out about TMS and went on a course, which is available on the NHS but only in Northampton.

From August he had 30 sessions of TMS which he said helped him with his issues.

At the time the show’s producers were criticised for putting him through the ordeal of looking at his reflection. Christopher was left visibly shaken after the experience.

Speaking about what he’s up to now he revealed that he’s currently playing Prince Charming in panto, which he says he would have previously turned down because of the way he felt about his body.

He told the panel, “I’m playing Prince Charming in panto. I’ve turned down roles because of the way I looked in the past, I usually pay the baddie to hide underneath a wig.”

He was also promoting his autobiography, Wildcard, which was out at the beginning of the month.

What should he call his autobiography?

The X Factor and CBB star is asking (very bravely we might suggest) Twitter what he should call his autobiography, which he’s been working on, due out this November.

He wrote, “I’m very PROUD to announce my autobiography is coming out mid-November. I’ve been working with a brilliant editor who’s seen this through for me but currently it has NO title! I’m asking ALL my fans to think of a title…. It maybe used on the cover on my new book!”

At the time of publishing there 69 comments on the Tweet.

Twitter can be known for its cruelty/wit and insight.

Here are some of our favourite suggestions so far.

Christopher Maloney "died twice" after being bitten by a spider on Holiday

The Celebrity Big Brother and X Factor star Christopher Maloney has revealed that he technically died twice and was left fighting for his life whilst on holiday in Turkey after a spider bit him.

The star had been enjoying the sun on the beach in Bodrum, when a spider bit him on the top of his head, sending him into an anaphylactic shock. The shock caused the crooner’s heart to stop beating not once but twice.

The singer, who was with his partner Gary Doran at the time was resuscitated by a holiday maker before being rushed to a nearby hospital where he was left fighting for his life.

Happier times when Christopher Maloney appeared on Channel 5’s Celebrity Big Brother where he finished 5th.

Speaking to the MailOnline the Liverpudlian said, “It was a very terrifying experience and thought I was actually going to die,

“I felt sick and dizzy, and I felt like I was hit again at back of head. I fell to the floor and started to shake and my throat started to close over and I went into anaphylactic shock then I passed out.”

The star, who first came to public fame during X Factor took part in Channel 5’s Celebrity Big Brother. He admitted that after the incident in Turkey that his fear of Spiders had increased, dramatically.

The star’s life was saved by holiday maker, Mandy Fisher who gave him mouth to mouth and CPR before he was rushed to a hospital. The star has said that he would like to meet with her to personally thank her for her life-saving actions. The incident meant the star was unable to travel home for a further two weeks.

The star who already suffers from arachnophobia admitted that after the incident in Turkey that his fear of Spiders had increased, dramatically.

  • Christopher Maloney The Fifth Housemate To Be Evicted

Over the weekend, Big Brother gave housemates the opportunity to win immunity from tonight’s eviction in a series of tasks in the Forgotten Theatre.

Gemma, Stephanie and Darren were all successful, meaning that Scotty T, Danniella, Jeremy, Christopher, John and Tiffany had to face eviction. The public has since being voting to save. During tonight’s 9pm Channel 5 programme, Emma Willis announced live to the house that the fifth person to leave would be Christopher.

Following the announcement, Christopher had 30 seconds to say his goodbyes and left the house to cheers from the crowd; then was greeted by Emma.

Asked how he felt about leaving the house, Christopher told Emma, “I’m so glad to be out of there to be honest with you.”

Emma asked him how he thinks Danniella feels about his departure. He told her, “she’s going through an emotional rollercoaster at the moment. She’s getting a little bit upset and I’ve been there for her and stuff. She’s a great girl, good luck to her. She’s doing really well in there.”

Emma then goes on to ask how it was on the first night when Christopher and Danniella saw each other for the first time following a period of not speaking. He said, “I was sh*tting myself. What did she say to me? We’ll have words, we’ll speak later. But we sorted it; you know it’s been great. I’m glad we sorted it because it wasn’t even anything to do with us, it was other people that were trying to stir sh*t.”

Quizzed about his relationship with Gemma in the house, Christopher told Emma “I’ve got to say, I didn’t really get her at the beginning and I’d rather please her than upset her. But since we had that conversation the other day, I got her. I got who she was and what kind of a person she is. I found her intimidating a little bit, I found her a bit overpowering. She’s a great housemate and she’s doing really well.”

Emma asked Christopher who he wants to win and he told her Danniella and Darren.

Tonight, viewers also saw holistic food & lifestyle guru, Gillian McKeith, pay an unexpected visit to the Big Brother house. In the Diary Room, Big Brother informed her that there are high levels of toxicity in the house; she said “absolutely, could not agree with you more. I’m definitely the best person for the job. Bring it on, somebodies got to sort out the mayhem in this place. Shenanigans no more.”

Gillian then entered the house and had to pick who she believed to be the four most toxic housemates to take part in her detox clinic. She chose Stephanie, Scotty T, John and Tiffany.

Celebrity Big Brother returns tomorrow at 9pm on Channel 5. Emma will be back on Friday at 9pm for the next eviction.
