Sadly Jim Hutton died in 2010, nearly two decades after the passing of Freddie Mercury but thanks to the biopic Bohemian Rhapsody the general public are finally able to know the name of one of Freddie’s most enduring relationships.

Freddie and Jim were together for the last years of the singer’s life, during the late 80s and very early 90s. According to Hutton when Freddie died he was wearing a wedding ring that Hutton had given him. However since it was 1991, same-sex marriage was not legal and therefore there would have been no legal relationship to speak of.

Jim Hutton, was born in 1949. He died in 2010, nearly 20 years after the death of his partner Freddie Mercury. The Irish man died on the 1st January, just three days before what would have been his 61st birthday He died at the age of 60 from lung cancer.

Before he died he wrote a memoir on his relationship with Freddie, called Mercury and Me and included several unseen, candid photos of Freddie and himself. The couple were extremely secretive during Freddie’s life.

Jim said that writing the book helped him through his grief after his boyfriend died.

Although many people thought that Jim might have passed away from an AIDS-related complication, it was revealed that his death was caused by a deadly lung cancer. He died three days before his 61st birthday in 2010.

What year did Freddie and Jim actually meet?

The relationship between Jim and Freddie formed between 1984 and 85. Apparently, Jim was unaware of who Freddie was when they were first intimate. They were known to each other by the time Freddie and Queen appeared at Live Aid in 1985.

When the pair first met Jim was a barber at the Savoy Hotel in London and he lived in Sutton. Jim would have been 34 or 35-years-old when he met Mercury. Freddie was two years and three months older than Hutton.

Advice on arriving at Bangkok Airport

Once you have disembarked from the plane it is a good idea to speed walk to the immigration desk as so many international flights arrive at Bangkok Suvarnabhumi airport all within seconds of each other.

Make sure you have a pen to fill out the landing card, you can also guarantee that there will probably not even be any landing cards at the stands either, however, just ask security before you enter the line and they will produce one from their back pocket. You can also ask the airline staff before you leave the plane if they have any.

If you opt to take a taxi from the airport, then there is an official taxi desk outside the arrivals terminal but always make sure that the fare includes the toll for a highway journey as the taxi will then take you into the city area via the fastest possible route.

The BTS (train) from the airport is an easy option, cost less than less than £1 to get into the city and is highly recommend as Bangkok traffic is ridiculous!

“Novelty” X Factor star Bradley Hunt stuns with Leona Lewis cover

You may remember Bradley as part of the Duo Bratavio… Well he’s back and proving that he can really sing

Singing Leona Lewis’s “Run” is a challenge for even the most accomplished singer, but former Bratavio singer, Bradley Hunt seems to make light work of the epic ballad, in his latest YouTube video.

His fans were quick to agree that the singer had come along way since his time on X Factor in 2016. When the duo first appeared on the scene in 2016 they caused controversy for judge Louis Walsh, who was bombarded with homophobic comments when he put them through to the live shows, with many dismissing the group as a “novelty act”.

BRADLEY HUNT: Giving it his all on Leona Lewis’ hit “Run” which reached number 1 with in 2008.

In 2017 the pair who were as famous for their costumes as their epic public fall outs, said that they actually recieved the most homophobia from inside the gay communty.

Speaking on Simon Gross‘s YouTube The Showbiz Show in 2017, the singing duo, revealed the negativity they’ve recieved from the gay community since they left the show.

The duo said that they never have trouble when they make appearances at straight clubs, but in gay clubs, they say that people snub them and that club-goers shout abuse at them. The pair even fear that they will get pelted with eggs.

However, since leaving the competition, Bradley hasn’t left music completely, in 2017 he released his rather catchy debut solo single, “Side Dish” which he was forced to clarify was not a dis song against his former partner, Ottavio Columbo.

  • The Good, The Bad and the Ugly: Fiat Doblo

The Good, The Bad and the Ugly: Fiat Doblo

The Good, The Bad and the Ugly.

An Irrelevant look at a certain car.

    Fiat Doblo. 2005-2009

What’s boxy, rather wild on the limit, has to be driven enthusiastically and comes from Italy?

No, not an Abarth something or other, we are talking about the Fiat Doblo van. A van that, despite its looks, won the 2006 “International Van of the Year” Admittedly that award came some six years after its launch with a facelift and like the Doblo, it’s a grower, not a shower, so eventually it gets there.

Shame about the facelift really because the 2000-2005 model had quite a nice purpose built front to it. And model maker Norev thought so too and made a nice 1/24th scale model of it that until recently, you could buy from Home Bargains for just £2.99 Probably not one of Norev’s greatest achievements because their models often retail for around six times that price.

And so to the real van, and what a van and how very Fiat with some of Fiat’s idiosyncrasies missing. Namely, the rubbery gearshift that afflicted Fiats for so long. The gear shift in the Doblo, mounted high up on the dashboard, was within a flick from the steering wheel and selected gears as good as any race-bred machine from sister company, down the road in Maranello.

And things got better with the engine. The lively FIRE (Fully Integrated Robotised Engine) 1.4 petrol was an absolute peach. It developed 76hp and my word, it feels like it has more. It’s 5 star award is its eagerness to please like a dog that has just thrown up your dinner that it stole from the coffee table.

And then things get even better for Dobby the Doblo. The handling is quite remarkable and highly entertaining, boarding on crazy, dangerous and downright outrageously good fun. You see, the rear end has a solid axle, suspended with some of those old fashioned leaf springs. What it would appear had been forgotten by the development team, was to soften it for the passenger carrying variety of the Doblo. Instead, it retained the stiff setup from the van. It made it highly entertaining.

The bad thing about the Doblo, though thankfully still keeping with Fiat tradition, was the driving position. It’s not so much a position but a torture, especially for your ankles. Thankfully, your feet don’t rest for too long so they are always moving around. That enthusiastic buzz getting the better of you.

It’s no sports car and yet it thinks it is. And with that facelift, it moves it from an ugly car to a good car.
