In an eye-opening interview with the iconic designer and creator of the heritage 60’s fashion label BIBA, Barbara Hulanicki talked about her friendship with the legend Freddie Mercury – and his love of her make up range.

    By FreddieMercurySinging21978.jpg: Carl Lenderderivative work: Lošmi – FreddieMercurySinging21978.jpg, CC BY-SA 3.0, https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?curid=7798754

Speaking to THEGAYUK in 2015 Barbara revealed, that in her company’s early days it “… attracted some very special customers too including Freddie Mercury who loved their make-up. Barbara reveals the iconic singer was dating her shop manager, Mary Austin. Mary Austin was known as the girlfriend of Freddie Mercury. She was left the majority of his estate when he died of AIDS-related illnesses in 1991.

Barbara explains that one day she found Mary crying and that she admitted that Freddie had confided his worries about his sexuality.

“However one day I came across a very distraught Mary crying her eyes out and when I asked what the matter was, she told me that Freddie didn’t know if he was going to be gay or straight.”

Freddie Mercury died in Kensington, from Bronchopneumonia brought on by AIDS in 1991.

Freddie himself never publicly came out as gay or bisexual but did tell The NME in December 1974, “Let’s put it this way: there were times when I was young and green. It’s a thing schoolboys go through. I’ve had my share of schoolboy pranks. I’m not going to elaborate further.”

Among other highlights, Barbara is also famed for giving Anna Wintour her start in fashion.

TGUK: And did the future Grand Dame of Vogue Anna Wintour really start her career as your Saturday girl?

    BH: Yes.

TGUK: So you taught her all she knows? (laughs) And do you think that Ms Wintour has this first job down on her resume?

    BH: No comment.

TGUK: Well if you are going to be tactful about this, can you agree that she may have copied her signature habit of wearing oversized glasses from you?

    (Roars laughing)

  • Jack Maynard apologises for tweets in highly edited Youtube video

YouTuber and former I’m A Celebrity star, Jack Maynard has finally spoken up after homophobic and racist tweets were discovered on his Twitter timelines.

It’s taken Jack Maynard nearly three days since leaving the jungle to issue his own statement surrounding the reasons why he left the Jungle on Tuesday.

He posted a video on YouTube apologising for his language. He titled the video, “My Explanation”. However, the video, in which he said he was “really, really sorry”, was highly edited and Jack himself seemingly found it difficult to look directly at his audience throughout his throughout the four and a half-minute video.

In the video, he said, “As you can already tell I’m back in London, I have left the jungle in Australia where I was before this. To be honest, I just want to start off with that I’m sorry, I’m just really, really sorry,” he said.

“The least you deserved was for me to come home and sit down and talk to you and explain everything that has been going on.”

“I’m sure most of you have seen that a lot of stuff have been written in the press over the last few days so I thought the least you deserved was for me to come home and just sit down and talk to you and explain everything that has been going on.

“I’m so sorry to anyone that I offended, anyone I upset, anyone I made feel uncomfortable.”

“I’ve messed up I’ve been really stupid in the past and tweeted some horrible things, some pretty disgusting things that I’m just ashamed of,”  he continued.

“I was young, I was stupid, I was careless I just wasn’t thinking back when I’d just left school and I didn’t know what I was doing getting into arguments with people on Twitter before I knew I’d have any impact online.”

“I’m just so embarrassed, we’ve had such an amazing year,” he said.

“One of the reasons I went on the show was because I saw it as a huge achievement to see off the year and I feel like I completely messed it up.

“All I can do is beg and encourage that you guys don’t make the same mistake as well.

“Don’t put anything online you wouldn’t say to your mum.”

    Fall from grace

Jack Maynard’s departure from ITV’s flagship show came after the Sun, unearthed numerous tweets from the YouTuber, the tweets included the use of the “n-word”, which were used to describe a friend and “faggots” which was used as a slur.

The term “retard” was also used as an insult towards people.

The tweets date back up to six years when he was a teenager at the time of publishing these tweets.

The video, posted on Maynard’s official channel on YouTube has been watched nearly 1,000,000 times since it was published.

  • These guys get real about tasting their own climax

Your Man Mayo… Do you taste or don’t you?

Well, this was the subject recently discussed in this Reddit forum… A bunch of non-gay guys had a discussion on whether they had ever tasted their own spaff.

Surprisingly, or maybe not, most of them got off on it!

    1) I don’t mind if we snowball or I eat out her creampie but I don’t swallow cum just for the sake of it. Different strokes for different folks. Via

    2) When my SO gave me a blow job she would clean off my cock with her mouth and then deep kiss me. So yeah, I’ve tasted and swallowed my sperm. I did the same for her when I’d eat her pussy. I thought it was hot as hell too. Via

    3) I f*cking love it, but I’m bisexual so there’s that. Nothing is hotter than swapping my cum with my girl after I came in her mouth Via

    4) I’m kinda late to the thread but I thought I would contribute. I pretty much swallow my cum every time I masturbate unless I’m in the shower. At first it was just out of curiosity but then it just became convenient. I just cum into the hand I’m not using or I cum directly into my mouth by putting my legs over my head. Via

    5) I usually don‘t swallow it. But I don‘t have a problem doing it, interestingly it‘s mostly tasteless anyway. Via

    6) I’ve only come out of lurking a couple times, and it was to ask virtually this same question. Personally, I eat my cum in most sexual encounters, solo or with my wife. When masturbating I feel like I’m wasting it if I don’t eat it. There isn’t any sexual gratification in it. With my wife it’s a different story. Eating my cum out of her is one of my favorite things. Snowballing is another fun trick. She hasn’t gotten comfortable enough to let me eat it after anal, but when the day comes… I get seriously turned on just thinking about it. Incidentally, this is why I dislike handjobs, you almost always lose all of it – I’m not about to lick it off the sheets! That said, I think it’s common for guys to have tried their cum, somewhat common for them to be cool with some contact with it post, and extremely unusual to have a real interest in it. Via

    7) Before I cum, yeah, I sometimes want to do that. But I’m of the common guy type whose libido kinda shuts down completely for a few minutes once he’s done. So basically, the only time when there’s any cum around is the time in which I want nothing to do with it. Via

    8) I was trying to do yoga plow and shoot in my mouth. I didn’t warm up and put my neck out, didn’t finish and had to go to the chiropractor. So yeah, warm up first before trying this. I swallow and enjoy licking off my SO. The taste seems really fine to me & it is a very clean way to deal with sploodge if someone eats it all up. Via

    9) It’s disgusting, and I don’t say that because “it’s gross, thats boy cum” but I’ve tried it multiple times and the taste is disguuuusting. It also seriously leaves my throat sore, far too basic. Via

  • Stormzy apologises for “foul and offensive” tweets

Hip-hop artist, Stormzy has Tweeted an apology for “foul and offensive” things written on his Twitter timeline.

Stormzy has issued a full and complete apology for some of the tweets sent on his Twitter, dating back to 2011. In a statement, he wrote that the messages sent from his account were “unacceptable and disgusting”. He also said sorry and that he regretted sending the messages.

The star, who has achieved a number 1 album in the UK charts, wrote,”The homophobic language I used was, embarrassingly, a part of my vocabulary when I was younger and ignorance made me feel comfortable to use them whilst not understanding the hate and the ramifications they carry.”

THEGAYUK’s editor and chief Jake Hook said, “Stormzy’s apology is by far one of the most sincere apologies I’ve ever seen from a celebrity when they’ve been confronted with their past actions. It’s heartening to see that someone as important as Stormzy is can acknowledge the pain and upset that homophobia can inflict on members of the LGBTQ+ community and can offer a heartfelt apology so eloquently – and all within 24 hours.

“If the last couple of months has taught us anything it’s that it’s an opportunity for people to start going over their own timelines and checking for comments that are just offensive and removing them. We have a whole dictionary of words to use. We don’t need to resort to homophobia, racism, sexism, ableism in order to get our points across.”

  • Could Aston Merrygold be replacing Jack Maynard in the Jungle?

JLS singer and Strictly Come Dancing participant Aston Merrygold is Betway’s red hot 5/2 favourite to replace Jack Maynard in the I’m A Celebrity jungle.

The Vlogger sensationally left the ITV show last night following allegations made against him, and having suffered a surprise early exit from Strictly Come Dancing last month, the leading online bookmaker thinks Merrygold could now be heading to the jungle as Maynard’s replacement.

Geordie Shore star turned TV presenter Charlotte Crosby has long been linked with an I’m a Celebrity appearance and she can be backed at 11/2 to replace Maynard.

Further down the list of Betway odds, singer Conor Maynard is 8/1 to join his younger brother’s former campmates in the coming days, while reality TV queen Gemma Collins is the same price to return to the jungle.

Betway’s Alan Alger, said: “Aston Merrygold certainly has unfinished business on celebrity TV shows after his shock eviction from Strictly earlier this month and he’s been backed at 5/2 to replace the axed Maynard in the jungle.

“I’m a Celeb producers will be scrambling for a replacement after losing Maynard so early on and a host of names have been mentioned. Gemma Collins, who so famously left the show after 72 hours, leads the pack of 8/1 fancies, with Karl Pilkington and Conor Maynard the same price.

“Meanwhile, Philip Hammond is a long shot at 100/1 to switch Budget briefings for bushtucker trials in the coming days.

  • Thug jailed after slashing face of man holding his boyfriend’s hand

A man has been jailed for two years following an attack on a man – who was holding his boyfriend’s hand – in which he glassed the victim’s face and cornea.

In an unprovoked attack, Anjungi Lam, 35 (28.4.82) of Addington Road, Croydon glassed a man in the face, after seeing him holding his male partner’s hand at a pub in Peckham, London.

Lam admitted grievous bodily harm at Inner London Crown Court on Friday, 23 June and was sentenced on Friday, 17 November.

On Sunday, 5 March at around 22:30hrs the victim and his 20-year-old boyfriend arrived holding hands at the Kentish Drovers pub in Peckham High Street, Southwark SE15.

They went to the bar and were deciding what drinks to buy when suddenly, Lam then raced towards the victim and smashed a pint glass against the right side of his face, cutting his nose, lip and neck, chipping his tooth and injuring his cornea. Flying glass also hit his boyfriend in the eye.

Lam then ran out of the pub. Lam was quickly identified via CCTV; he had worked for the pub for three months before being sacked for lateness.

He was arrested on Friday, 19 May and subsequently charged.

Investigating officer PC Lance Sharrock, from Southwark’s Community Safety Unit, said: “This was an entirely unprovoked incident. Lam did not know the victim or his partner, they had not spoken nor had any disagreement to provoke such a violent attack.

“The victims felt Lam must have been motivated by homophobia as they entered the pub holding hands and we began a hate crime investigation.

“Lam was quickly identified and I am pleased at his sentence which shows that incidents of this nature will not be tolerated.”

+ Lam was jailed for an additional year for a number of separate offences not linked to the GBH; actual bodily harm, assault by beating, theft and having an offensive weapon.

  • Nearly 20 homophobic Tweets found on Stormzy’s Twitter timeline

Nearly 20 homophobic tweets have been found on the Hip Hop artist, Stormzy’s twitter account.

The tweets, some of which date back to 2011 use homophobic slurs, like “no homo” and “faggot” to blast critics on his social media account. At least one was aimed at an actor for dancing on an advert.

Tweets sent from the MOBO-award winning artist’s account used insults like “faggot” and “gay” as a pejorative term.

The tweets were sent from his account before he achieved chart success in 2017 and before he was named on the BBC Influential Sound of 2015 list. The artist has had a number 1 album in the UK, selling at least 100,000 records – achieving a Gold disk.

At least 19 tweets were found using homophobic language. The tweets, which were dated between 2011 and 2014 have now all, seemingly, been deleted.

    STORMZY/TWITTER

Tweets sent from his official account suggested that men who use straighteners or curling tongs are “fags” whilst another tweet blasted an actor in a Lucozade advert as a “big faggot” for dancing.

The tweets, discovered by PinkNews have now been deleted, but we managed to find some of them before they were pulled from Twitter.

Another Tweet suggests that being gay was a slur and asked his critics whether they were gay. Another message questioned whether being mature was also “gay”.
