  • Bryan Singer to make Queen biopic

Queen have confirmed their biopic is “finally happening” and is due to start filming in September with Bryan Singer helming the project and Rami Malek portraying late singer Freddie Mercury.

Queen have confirmed that the biopic on the band ‘Bohemian Rhapsody: The Film’ is coming soon.

The legendary rock band – comprised of Brian May and Roger Taylor, as well as past member John Deacon and the late great Freddie Mercury – have announced that work on the movie is officially underway, with principal photography due to start in September.

The movie is to star Rami Malek as Freddie – who passed away in 1991 from complications with AIDS – with X-Men mastermind Bryan Singer helming the project.

May, 70, and Taylor, 67, couldn’t be happier with the casting choice and the fact they have Singer on board.

In a new post published on the band’s official website QueenOnline.com (QOL), they said,

“Yes folks, it IS finally happening. You’ve been hearing rumors about Bohemian Rhapsody: The Film for some time, but now QOL is about to become your most direct source of official information. This will be the place to come to stay ahead of all the very latest news and updates as the film gets underway – and hopefully we’ll have some regular insider information to share with you too. (sic)”

Talking about Malek and Singer’s involvement, the post continued,

“Rami has great presence and he’s utterly dedicated to the project. He’s completely living and breathing Freddie already, which is wonderful.

“Award winning director Bryan Singer is the man who will be bringing the Queen and Freddie story alive. If you’ve ever seen Singer’s ‘X-Men‘ films, or the groundbreaking movie The Usual Suspects, you’ll know this is a director with extraordinary imagination and style.”

According to the website, pre-production for the feature is set to begin “next week”, with shooting starting in London in September.

    The post continued,

“After months of speculation, QOL can also confirm that the film is now ‘as-close-as-that’ to start of shooting. Pre-production begins next week in the UK to prepare for start of principal photography in around London as soon as mid-September.”

As of the time of writing, Bohemian Rhapsody: The Film – which shares its name with the band’s hit single of the same name – is expected to hit screens in December 2018.

  • Caitlyn Jenner to cover “Dude Looks Like A Lady?

Caitlyn Jenner has joked she and Steven Tyler are recording a new version of his hit ‘Dude Looks Like a Lady’ because the Aerosmith song is her “anthem”.

Caitlyn Jenner has joked she and Steven Tyler are recording a new version of his hit ‘Dude Looks Like a Lady’.

The 67-year-old former Olympian turned reality TV star revealed the Aerosmith track became her “theme song” when she was struggling with her gender identity and the 69-year-old rocker was pleased to know he’d been able to play a part in giving her comfort.

Caitlyn shared a picture on Instagram of herself and Steven on Tuesday (18.07.17) and wrote,

@iamstevent and I are working on our duet for Dude Looks Like a Lady. One of my favorite songs! (sic)”

And she later appeared on ‘Jimmy Kimmel Live’ to explain the photo.

    She said,

“If you noticed today on Instagram, I posted a picture of me and Steven Tyler.

“I was at a fundraiser in Minneapolis, and he was the entertainment. I had met him, I think, once, briefly – many, many years ago. But he was sitting there and I’m thinking, ‘I’ve got to go say hi.’

“So, I go backstage after and I look up at Steven and I said, ‘I have had some really, really tough times in my life. For six years, at one point, I stayed in my house, and every once in a while I would get dressed and go sneak out in the dark and drive around. Your song, ‘Dude Looks Like a Lady’ became my theme song, driving around in my little car with my little CD in there, whipping up the tunes and stuff.

“I said, ‘I just want you to know, it made me feel good.’ He loved it. He hugged me and said, ‘We’ve got to get together.’ “

Elsewhere on the talk show, the I Am Cait star asked the 49-year-old host to “spy” on her daughter Kendall Jenner because Jimmy lives across the street from the supermodel.

    She quipped,

“If I brought over some binoculars, could you spy down on her? I never know what’s going on in that house.”

    Jimmy laughed and replied,

“Can I tell you what’s going on in that house? There’s a lot of people bringing clothes in and out of the house–just all the time. There’s so many clothes going in and out of the house!”

    Caitlyn agreed,

“I can see that. No, Kendall is a very great kid.”

  • What is a glory hole?

Have you heard the term glory hole but not sure what it is?

A glory hole is a slang term mostly used in the gay cruising world. A glory hole, simply put, is a hole in a wall, door or partition, usually in a public toilet, where a man could put his penis through in order to be relieved by whoever was the other side. Glory holes are usually to be found in men’s public toilets and comes from the days of cottaging, which is a term coined to describe anonymous sex between men in public toilets.

Most glory holes are rush made in the partitions between toilet stalls, most likely made with pen knives or another handy tool.

Both men, the giver and receiver of oral sex would be hidden from view from each other which adds anonymity to both parties, especially is one or neither are out as gay or bisexual.

A glory hole can also be used for anal penetration too.

The anonymity of glory holes to some, adds eroticism to the situation, but it does have its drawbacks especially when it comes to sexual health and personal safety. The use of condoms is advised to stop STIs such as herpes, HIV and Gonorrhea but not always acted upon.

The use of glory holes in not illegal in the UK, if the glory hole is in a private residence or a gay sauna/bathhouse. Sex in public toilets is illegal. You can find out more about the legal situation of cottaging in this article.

Local councils or public toilet operators do mend found holes, usually with a sheet of metal to cover the hole from both sides.

It is not known who created the first glory hole or in which country it first originated if you can help with this information please use the comment box below.

  • FORD MUSTANG | Just Call Me Mustang Sally

Ford put on quite a show recently to a few motoring journalists for the launch of the 2017 Mustang Convertible. Not only was there a play in the new pony car but a polo match and tuition on how to play it albeit thankfully not on the horse and a day at Goodwood festival of speed.

First up though was the excitement for the new Mustang that was then halted by the presence of a 1977 Mk2 Capri 1.6 L. Mustang does something to the inner you and l suppose if I was American it would do more but the Capri really was the car they said you’ve always promised yourself. And being British it stirred me up the wrong way. Thankfully Charlotte Ward from Ford Heritage entrusted me with the keys and I was able to satisfy those pangs with the joyous sound of a 1.6 pinto engine doing nothing but making noise when you pushed the pedal to the metal.

Noise with motion was not a problem in the new Mustang with its V8 thundering under the bonnet. Motion was there in abundance. Sometimes too much was there. Even with all the traction control, you could still have some fun. You could also turn it off too but this is really only for legends. Come to think of it there were many different setting even down to a ‘track’ setting. I kept it as it was and cruised. The roads around Goodwood are not great for sideways action. As a thundering toy, I liked what I saw.

The route took us to watch the Jaeger-LeCoultre Gold Cup polo courtesy of Guy and Charlotte from the Cowdray polo academy. As an animated fan, Guy was able to enthuse with abundance about polo, the skills needed, what made a good polo horse and the players. A gentle sport it is not and Charlotte showed off her skills at brownie making. Diet or not, I hit those hard.

Dinner was interspersed with what can only be described as a perfect accompaniment to wine tasting five different wines and champagnes by Wiston with husband and wife team Richard and Kirsty Goring providing ample joviality per bottle per course. A lot of fun, even if we were lead down the wrong path by Richard who during the quiz asked questions he and Kirsty had not mentioned. An uproar ensued.

Sunday was filled with a trip to Goodwood. Having never been before I can only express that it is far bigger than I thought it would be and quite overwhelming. There is just so much to see both on and off the track. This was after all The Festival of Speed.

THEGAYUK hopes to get hold of a new Mustang for further examination so watch this space and a look around the heritage fleet too.

  • Former ANTM judge, Jay Manuel shocks with full body ink

One of America’s favourite talent judges just unveiled a full body of tattoos.

Out celebrity makeup artist, Jay Manuel has left his fans speechless after posing in the buff – showing nothing but a full body of tattoos!

But it wasn’t so much the tats that got people talking it was the fact that he was wearing socks and sandals… in the shower that disturbed his fans the most.

However, if you think that Jay is hiding all those tats under his usually finely tuned look, you’d be mistaken. Hours later he uploaded another full body picture, but asked his fans what his first tattoo should be!

Jay was a key figure in America’s Next Top Model but was let go in 2012, by Tyra Banks along with Alexander and photographer Nigel Barker after the show’s ratings plummeted from a high of 5.4 million in 2006 to 2.4 million in 2011

  • From April 2018 the government is going to restrict access to porn

From April 2018 you will have to prove your age before accessing porn sites in the UK.

From April 2018 the government is going to restrict access to porn

The Conservative government are forging ahead with plans to require adults in the UK to prove they are over 18 before accessing porn sites. Digital minister Matt Hancock signed the commencement order today, which will enable the Digital Economy Act.

Although no details about how the scheme could or would work, experts have suggested that proof of age could be provided by credit card details. The government could force Internet Service Providers such as BT and Virgin Media to block access to websites which do not comply with the new rules.

The rules will apply to any website or platform which offers porn on a “commercial basis”.

It is hoped that the measures will protect children from online porn.

The Adam Smith Institute has reacted in dismay over the news.

Sam Dumitriu, Research Economist at the Adam Smith Institute, said,

“Requiring adult websites to force users to provide their credit card details poses a dangerous threat to privacy and will enable widespread credit card fraud.

“Consenting adults shouldn’t be forced to announce that they’re looking at pornography to their credit card company.

“There are massive fraud risks. It could mean that users are nudged into handing over data to unsafe sites – leaving them at the risk of fraud. Pornography is especially attractive to fraudsters as victims are often too embarrassed to flag up unexpected payments to adult sites to their credit card company.

“Politicians should stop trying to regulate things they don’t understand.”

In December 2014 pornography produced in the UK was subject to strict rules under the David Cameron’s Tory government. The types of scenes which studios could film were severely restricted with an amendment to the 2003 Communications Act.

Some of the activities banned by the Conservative government could overtly affect the porn consumption of gay men in the UK – including those who watch BDSM, rimming (facesitting) and fisting.

  • Pride In London: “We will not tolerate Islamophobia”

A complaint has been lodged with the organisers of Pride In London over “Allah is gay” placards were allegedly displayed by members of a walking group in this year’s parade. Organisers of pride have issued a statement saying they will not tolerate Islamophobia.

Muslim leaders in London have lodged a complaint with Pride In London after members of the Council of Ex-Muslims of Britain CEMB took part in this year’s parade. The group allegedly held up placards with slogans such as “F*** Islamic homophobia”, “East London Mosque incites murder of LGBTs”, and “Throw ISIS off the roof”.

Speaking to the Evening Standard Salman Farsi from the East London Mosque said that a complaint had been made.

“We’ve raised a complaint with the co-chairs of the event that the group was inciting hatred against Muslims, and in particular [in relation] to our good name, based on absolutely groundless reasons.

“Our track record for challenging homophobia in East London is quite well known. For us to see such a mainstream event that is supposed to celebrate tolerance and love used as a hate platform was really quite shocking.

“Our religion doesn’t promote hatred or homophobia. Yes, there might be theological topics dealing with homosexuality in Islam, but that’s clearly very separate from promoting hatred and homophobia.”

A spokesperson for Pride In London said,

“If anyone taking part in our parade makes someone feel ostracised, discriminated against or humiliated, then they are undermining and breaking the very principles on which we exist. Our code of conduct is very clear on this matter.

“All volunteers, staff and parade groups agree that Pride celebrates diversity and will not tolerate any discrimination of any kind.

“While our parade has always been a home to protest, which often means conflicting points of view, Pride must always be a movement of acceptance, diversity and unity. We will not tolerate Islamophobia.”

CEMB Spokesperson, Maryam Namazie said in a blog post on the CEMB website,

“…the very reason CEMB was at Pride was to combat hate and to highlight the 13 states under Islamic rule that kill gay men (14 if we include Daesh-held territories). We included placards on the East London mosque to bring attention to the fact that there are mosques here in Britain that promote the death penalty for homosexuality and apostasy.

As ex-Muslims, we are at risk from hate preachers that speak at some mosques and universities; our  gay members are at an increased risk.

The East London Mosque has a long history of hosting hate preachers who incite against blasphemers, apostates and homosexuals so we felt naming and shaming them was very apt.
