  • CHRIS COLFER: ‘Things Will Very Different’ Without Cory Monteith

    Cast members of the hit show Glee returned to the set this week for the first time since Cory Monteith’s death.

    • Cory Monteith died in July at the age of 31 from a drug and alcohol overdose
    • Chris Colfer and Cory Monteith have starred in Glee since the show’s first series
    • Chris Colfer plays an openly gay Kurt Hummel in Fox’s hit show

    Glee cast-mates returned to set today for the first time since Monteith’s death in July, however, Colfer was in New York City promoting the release of the second novel in his The Land of Stories series, The Enchantress Returns.

    Speaking to Entertainment Weekly Radio about returning to Glee after Cory’s death, Chris said:
    ‘We’ve had bumps and dips along the road over the course of the years, but nothing like this. I know we’ve always come together — always — in the past, because we are such a family in the cast and the crew. But I don’t know. I’m assuming things will be very different, and I’m sure they’ll be difficult at first. But…. We’ll see. I think I’m positive.’

  • Tom Daley ‘Appreciates’ His Gay Fans

    It seems that the Olympian Tom Daley, 19, can really tick all the boxes of being a media darling: Good looks, year round tan and an appreciation of his gay fans, especially after they voted him Attitude’s sexiest man.

    Speaking to Heatworld.com the diver said:

    “It’s cool, any support I appreciate.

    “Everyone’s been so supportive. [The Attitude voters] are the people cheering me on during the Olympics, these are the people that give me extra motivation during training . I really appreciate it.”

     

    He’s not just Attitude’s hottest hunk, in January Daley was voted Heat’s very own Hottest Hunk.

    There you go: a talented, nice young man you can take back to your folks…

    As you may have noticed TheGayUK is celebrating its first birthday this month and we’re very proud of this! Who else will be blowing the candles out on a cake this month?

    Lindsay Lohan- former child star, former mean girl, former girlfriend of DJ Samantha Ronson and current tabloid darling thanks to her very public meltdowns.

    Julian Assange- the  Wikileaks founder and international tourist. Assange is currently living in London at the Ecuadorean Embassy under political asylum, to prevent his deportation back to Sweden and the United States. As such he is unlikely to be tucking into a rainbow coloured cupcake this year.

    Tom Hanks- Hollywood’s go to nice guy. Way back in 1993, Tom Hanks starred in the film “Philadelphia” portraying a gay man with AIDS fighting an unfair dismissal case against his former employers. This was considered ground-breaking at the time as it was one of the first mainstream Hollywood films to tackle Aids/HIV and Homophobia. It was for this role that Tom Hanks collected his first Oscar.

    Matthew fox- everybody’s favourite “Lost” boy and male grooming promoter. There’s no other reason to why he is include on this list other than for some eye candy.

    Jane lynch – Everybody’s favourite Glee Villain, Jane Lynch portrays cheerleading coach Sue Sylvester in the popular musical comedy which has brought her multiple awards. Lynch lives as an openly gay woman and frequently appears on lists of influential out celebrities. Unfortunately, earlier this year she announced her divorce from wife.

    The Hoff- the Man the Icon, David Hasselhoff has huge gay appeal, from the camp talking car to the tight red lifeguard shorts and the dodgy pop career. He counts Radio One DJ Scott Mills as a friend and a fan.

    Daniel Radcliffe- Free from the days of his bespectacled wand waver, Daniel has embarked on many different dramatic roles. In the upcoming film “Kill Your Darlings” he plays Beat poet Alan Ginsberg. Role. The film is already being discussed in terms of the graphic gay sex scenes featuring Radcliffe and I’m sure that it will be the biggest gay audience since “Magic Mike”

    JK Rowling- Author and philanthropist. The only person to have ever bumped themselves from the top of rich list by giving too much to charity. Earlier this month, JK was “outed” as a crime writer Robert Galbraith. This ensured a surge in sales for the novel meaning that Rowling had more money for balloons!

  • Mark Wahlberg wasn’t as sexy as Graham Norton hoped

    Graham Norton tells TV Magazine that the Hollywood A-Lister Mark Wahlberg wasn’t as sexy as he hoped.

    Speaking to TV Magazine, Graham Norton talked about having an apparently drunken 42-year-old Wahlberg on his show was not exactly what he expected.

    Norton remarked that he used to have a crush on Wahlberg, but didn’t find the moment that the Boogie Nights actor sat on his lap and tweeked his nipple enjoyable.

    ‘I once had a photo of him where a dog’s pulling down his underwear and, if someone had told me then that one day he’d sit on my knee and pinch my nipple, my head would’ve exploded.

    ‘I guess I’m not really that into crushes any more. That’s a sign of being 50 – I’ve stopped noticing people!’

    Celebrity blogger Perez Hilton reports that Hollywood A-Lister and his boyfriend, Jonathan Groff have split.

    Writing on PerezHilton.com, Perez wrote:

    ‘It has been confirmed to us exclusively that lovebirds Zachary Quinto and Jonathan Groff are no longer seeking snuggle-time in each other’s arms. Sources have come forward to share that the pair have recently split, after nearly a year of being longingly in love.

    But here’s where things take a turn for the worst…

    Our source adds that things did “not end well” between Zach and Jon, making things far from amiable between them.’

     

    Zachary Quinto, is most famous for his role as Spock in the latest Star Trek movies as well as starring in the hit fantasy drama Heroes.

    Quinto, 36, came out as gay in in October 2011.

  • Gay Olympian diver Matthew Mitcham auctions off underwear

    Olympic gold medalist and openly gay diver Matthew Mitcham auctioned off his undies at the Melbourne Cabaret Festival.

    The hunky Aussie was hosting the Closing Gala for the Melbourne Cabaret Festival when he decided to auction off his rather snazzy undies. The fetching patterned tiny lime green.

    The pants sold for $1000. Whether they are being delivered clean is yet unclear.

  • Miley Cyrus praises Disney for gay characters

    Former Disney starlet Miley Cyrus takes to twitter to congratulate Disney on the introduction of gay characters to a brand new show.

    The 20-year-old entertainer tweeted to her 12 million followers:

    “I commend Disney for making this step into the light of this generation, They control…so much of what kids think! Life isn’t bright sets & wardrobe & kids becoming superstars! This is INSPIRING,”

    Disney is due to introduce a same-sex lesbian couple in a forthcoming episode of Good Luck Charlie.

    Speaking to TV Guide a spokesperson for Disney said:

    ‘This particular storyline was developed under the consultancy of child development experts and community advisors.’

    The Disney Channel’s first broadcast was in 1983 and in such time it has never shown any gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgender characters.

    Recently a boycott by US hate group One Million Moms was organised after they were made aware of an unofficial ‘gay day’ at Disney in Florida, the group urged families to boycott the corporation after it said,

    “Tens of thousands will make reservations in Orlando, Florida, for the first weekend in June. Warning! Not everyone there will be excited, innocent children anticipating a fun weekend at Disney World. The first Saturday in June, homosexuals, bisexuals and transvestites will be at the Magic Kingdom with an agenda and purpose different than what would be expected at Disney.”

    Well well, if this doesn’t get eye brows raised, we’re not sure will, if the boys are trying to counteract the various gay claims around the internet, this probably isn’t the best way to do it.

    One Direction member Zayn Malik (pictured) is seen feasting on his buddy’s candy thong live on stage in front of thousands of fans – homoerotic? Much?

    The candy thong was thrown on to stage whilst One Direction were wrapping up their show in Columbus.

    Harry Styles then donned the underwear and offered them to Zayn to munch… He, it seems, needed no persuasion.

    Legendary singer and DJ is making a comeback with a brand new single called: Coming Home

    “I don’t know who I used to be but everyday I’m feeling more like me” sings Boy George on his forthcoming new release ‘Coming Home’ which has its feet firmly on the dance-floor. A cool, chunky house tune crafted by Dharma Protocol, who are legendary producer and one part of The Orb Youth and Moto Blanco’s Danny Harrison, with Culture Club bassist Mikey Craig moonlighting on writing and bass duties. The sound is reminiscent of George’s first dance venture ‘Jesus Loves You’ with early 90s house flavouring and a pop sensibility.
    Says George,

    ‘Coming Home’ is about returning to who you really are as a person. Some people grow further away from themselves as they get older, while others like me becoming who they are meant to be. Right now I feel very comfortable in my skin. The music I’m making is a reflection of how I feel, which is super positive and focussed. I’ve been writing with Youth and Mikey from Culture Club for my new solo album ‘This Is What I Do’ and ‘Coming Home’ was born out of those writing sessions. I wanted to do something for the dance-floor because I DJ every weekend all over the globe and right now I’m very excited about the direction dance music is taking.     ‘Coming Home’ comes with mixes from Juan Kidd, already hyped as a summer smash by Prok & Fitch, and further mixes from Psychemagik, Kinky Roland, Marc Vedo and Maze & Masters. It features one of Boy George’s strongest and most soulful vocals and is a hint of things to come.

    Graham Norton confirms split from boyfriend

    The openly gay Irish entertainer Graham Norton has confimed that he has split from his long-term partner Trevor Patterson.

    Graham Norton and Canadian software designer Trevor Patterson have split after two years together, the Mirror is reporting.

    Asked if he was in love, Norton replied,

    “No, not at the moment.”

    And told that someone would be very lucky to be with him, he comically cried,

    “If only now, if only now. Tweet me.”

    Norton had shared his London flat with Patterson, but is enjoying his own space again, with his beloved dogs.

    He said,

    “I love living alone, which sounds so miserable, doesn’t it? But it is one of my greatest joys.

    “I have Bailey and Madge – so I’m never truly alone.”
