  • Will Young Slams Nicky Morgan As Not Giving A “Shit” About Mental Health

    Will Young has blasted the Education Secretary Nicky Morgan as not “giving a shit” about mental health.

    Speaking at this year’s National Student Pride singer Will Young has strongly criticised Education Secretary Nicky Morgan for ignoring the mental health needs of LGBT youth in the UK. He said that he would be picketing her offices until she addressed issues facing the UK’s LGBT community.

    After a private meeting with Morgan, Young said he left heartbroken.

    He said,

    “It breaks my heart that there are going to be more and more generations of young LGBT people that are going to continue to have a lack of nurture and have this internalised shame which can be changed within the education system.”   

    “The only conclusion that I can draw is that she doesn’t give a shit about it”.

    Will Young who was crowned by THEGAYUK readers as one of the top 10 gay icons of Britain  confessed he is “not a huge fan” of Nicky Morgan, stating his concerns about the MP dealing with mental health issues facing young LGBTS,  “I don’t see the Education Secretary, who I am not a huge fan of at all, addressing this at all.”

    The news comes as PACE, the UK’s biggest mental health charity for LGBTs was forced to close due to local authority budget cuts.

    He then announced that he would be picketing the politician until she gives answers and takes action in schools to help young LGBT people live openly and freely.

    “I am augmenting a new White Paper and then I’ll picket outside the department of education until she gives me some answers.”

    It’s fair to say that while he was in the Big Brother house actor John Partridge cause a bit of a stir outside in the real world. It wasn’t long before the trolls left their riverside dwellings to have their say on Twitter. Well John Partridge’s Twitter HQ took it in its stride.

    Whoever was controlling his social media was literally boss and knows the true meaning of “Bye Felicia”, owning every single negative comment that came toward’s the star’s official Twitter account.

    Whoever it was, proved that they had as much sass as the real life John and slayed troll after troll. The social media team’s withering put downs kept coming and coming. They were on point.

     

    JP was the first of the finalists to be evicted in last night’s final and was met with a mix of boos and cheers from the crowd. Before he went into the house John said that he was doing the show to help pay for his mother’s care home costs.

    Jaymi Hensley has joked that there must be something in Union J’s water as his bandmate George Shelley comes out.

    Taking to Twitter the out singer Jaymi Hensley has said how proud he is of his bandmate George Shelley after he addressed the speculation surrounding his sexuality.

    In his video George said,

    “I’ve had girlfriends that I’ve loved, in amazing periods of my life, but I’ve also had boyfriends.

    “I want you to know that whether I decide to be with a girl next or be with a guy next it’s because I love them.

    Jaymi asked the band’s fans to support George and show the same love that he was extended when he came out, before joking that there must be something in the waters.

    Adele has said that Donald Trump is not allowed to use her music for his Presidential campaign.

    Adele has told The Independent that President hopeful Donald Trump is not allowed to use her music during his campaign. The news came hours after Trump said he would “consider” reversing the same-sex marriage law in the US if he became President.

    In the past Sarah Palin has used Rolling In The Deep at a rally for Trump and  Adele’s number one hit Skyfall, was played at an event in Ohio.

    A representative for Adele said,

    “Adele has not given permission for her music to be used for any political campaigning..”

     

    Class. Pure class. That’s our Adele.

    Justin Bieber is currently fronting the Calvin Klein underwear ad and is looking on form in the three pictures released by the fashion label in which he “glows”, “flaunts” and “dreams”.

    Okay not really… but have you seen Stooshe’s latest music video?

    The ladies have gone all Orange Is New Black, having shot their latest single Lockdown in a real life high-security prison. Speaking exclusively to THEGAYUK all girl group Stooshe said that it was a “surreal” experience to be locked up…

    “It was an amazing video to shoot,

    “It was really surreal to be in it ’cause you have to just think, people have lived here. I think it was a high security as well. Serious serious convicts. It was really surreal to see it ourselves. It had only been closed four years. It was pretty fresh in there.”

    When we asked what their one luxury item would be if they ended up in prison themselves they answered:

    Vaseline, hot pepper sauce and mayonnaise.

  • David Bowie’s $100 Million Estate Divided Amongst Family

    The late legendary David Bowie has had his $100 million estate divided amongst his wife and two children.

    David Bowie’s estimated $100 million estate has been divided amongst his wife, Iman and his two children Duncan Jones and Alexandria Zahra Jones.

     

    In his will, Bowie dictated that 50 per cent be left to Iman and the rest be divided equally between Duncan and Alexandria.

    Bowie’s personal assistant Corinne Schwab was left $2 million and his daughter’s nanny Marion Skene received $1 million.

    David Bowie passed away earlier this month after an 18-month battle with cancer.

    He was 69 at the time of his death.

    David Bowie also stipulated in his will that his ashes be scattered in a “buddhist ritual in Bali.”

    Out Aussie hunk Mathew Mitcham has decided to retire from diving.

    Diving star Matthew Mitcham has decided to call time on his diving career deciding to spend more time on his media and entertainment career.

    The star who came out as gay just before appearing in the 2008 Bejing Olympics said he was “grateful” for all his career’s “ups and downs” – the “wins and the bombs”.


    Taking to Instagram he said,

    “So, it’s Peace Out to my diving career and a big Heeeeeeey to the rest of my media and entertainment and everything else career!”.

  • Cher Dumps On Trump

    Never one to shy away from expressing her feelings global super star Cher has dumped on Trump calling his campaign out as a joke.

    The Believe singer who turns 70 this year, questioned whether GOP Presidential candidate Donald Trump actually wanted the top job and all its responsibilities, but rather wanting the job because it is the top job.

    Speaking to Billboard.com she said,

    “I don’t like anything about Donald Trump. It’s a joke at a time when you really need serious people.

     

    “I don’t think he wants the job, or I don’t think he actually wants to do the work. I think he wants the job because it’s the ultimate deal, and he’s the ultimate ego. I don’t know that I’ve heard or seen anybody like him, and I also never thought that Americans would go for someone like him, a person of his quality.”

  • Sam Smith “Shocked” By Racism – Twitter Reacts

    Sam Smith has ruffled feathers it seems and people aren’t happy about it.

    In a series of Tweets Sam Smith outlined that a friend of his had been racially abused and that it had deeply shocked the Stay With Me singer.
    However some on Twitter aren’t happy. Hanna Flint for Metro.co.uk accused the singer of “whitesplaining” which is defined by Urbandictionary as “paternalistic lecture given by Whites toward a person of color defining what should and shouldn’t be considered racist, while obliviously exhibiting their own racism”.

  • Joshua Rafter: Women Have Gay Friends Because We Listen, Husbands Do Not

    Speaking to THEGAYUK leading openly gay businessman Joshua Rafter has explained why he thinks women want gay best friends.

    You may remember Josh Rafter from the 2nd ever series of Big Brother, in which Brian Dowling championed, but Josh is one of Soho’s stalwart characters, having led the Outlet, a property management company in the heart of Soho, to its 20th year.

    Sitting down with the editor of THEGAYUK, Josh explained why he thinks women love gay men.

    “Women like to have gay friends because they listen and the husbands and boyfriends don’t.

    “We listen and that’s one thing I think gay people do – listen and we’re there to offer our opinion – right or wrong it’s really nice to have someone listen!”

    A report in psychologytoday.com in 2012, suggested that women’s fondness of gay men happened for three reasons.

    Firstly they are “they are emotionally attracted to the fearlessness and lack of self-consciousness in gay men.”

    Secondly “straight women love gay men because closeness with gay men provides a window into how the minds of men works”

    Lastly, the report suggested, “because most straight women don’t feel sexual toward gay men.”
