The entertainment group Cirque Du Soleil have announced their solidarity with the LGBT community in North Carolina after it cancelled its shows in the state.

The boycott comes after PayPal cancelled a $3.6million investment and both Bruce Springsteen and ex-Beatle Ringo Starr cancelled shows in the US State.

The anti-LGBT laws now allows business owners to discriminate against customers on the basis of their sexuality – if it offends their religious beliefs. The law also requires trans people to use the bathroom which aligns with the gender that is on their birth certificate.
