  • New Calculator Works Out How Many Calories You Burn During Sex

Oh those clever bods at Superdrug have worked out how many calories you can burn during sex, if of course, you’re having sex.

Let’s say you and your boyfriend or FWB (friend with benefits) are 12 stone and do 10 minutes of doggie, 12 minutes of legs in the air, 8 minutes of reverse cowboy and end with a spectacular 3 minutes of holding your partner up, you could have burned off 142 calories for your 33 minutes of activity, not bad eh?

Want some advice on how to spice up some of your positions, check out these bad boys (NSFW)

That’s the equivalent of running 1.24 miles, 25 minutes of dancing or 37 minutes of yoga. I think we all know what we’d prefer doing.According to the website,

“Superdrug Online Doctors commissioned (Fractl) to investigate how people can use sex as a form of exercise. To determine the extensive list of positions – including their unconventional names and respective calorie counts for both partners – we reviewed “The Position of the Day Playbook” from Nerve.com. To add to its methodology, which lacked any reference to the duration of activity or weight of the individuals, we did further research on positions and calories burned.”

Now in our quick survey of the calories burned, it turns out that the receptive partner or the bottom actually usually burns less calories. So to keep up the calorie count, bottoms, prepare to go 2.0 Power-bottom and do more energetic positions like squatting, the cowboy and a bit of a lap dance.

  • RESTAURANT REVIEW | Rugby Burgers @ West 12 Bar & Grill

Last night, I had the pleasure of dining at West 12 Bar & Grill, at Birmingham Marriott Hotel, just in time for the opening of the Rugby World Cup. For the duration of the Rugby season, the Marriott Hotels are hosting #BurgersandBubbles, motto of which is: ‘designed by champions, served with champers.’ Celebrating Rugby events in style, Marriott and International Rugby Players have collaborated into creating the bravest, beefiest and bulgiest burgers I have ever held in my two hands.

My dinner partner and I decided to go head-to-head with the two available Rugby Burger options. So, representing Australia, my guest went for The Burke burger, designed by the Australian fullback Matt Burke himself, who must have been a huge fan of sweet and sour, for the concoction of beef burger, grilled red onion, beetroot and pineapple behaved rather saucily in my partner’s mouth. At home, I represented New Zealand with the Hardman burger, created by Brad Thorn, the lock of the team, and I have to say, if I had even attempted man-handling the burger, it would have given me a locked jaw. Thankfully, we were both given steak knives to tackle the scrummy masterpieces. The Hardman was smoky and earthy with the venison, crispy streaky bacon, fried egg and tomato chutney combination. It was a draw, for both burgers equally delighted the taste buds of the burger captains.
Our evening was made extra special by the restaurant team, who did nothing more but care for us. It was very kind of the Hotel General Manager, Gordon Tyler, to personally welcome us, joke about the world cup and assuring us that we were very welcome at West 12 Bar & Grill. He told us, ‘it is a very exciting time of year for rugby fans,’ and though we are not dedicated Rugby fans, we were soon in the mood for celebrating. Our waiter Sam led the team with care, dedication and a pleasant smile that went with every course. He was very passionate about the wines that he let us sample, and was very good listener while we shared our views about each one. It was not quite around the world in eighty glasses, but as we gargled the tasters, it felt we were being transported to the climates of the hot countries of Chile, Italy, Spain, France, where the wines were made. Our favourite was a red wine which accompanied the red meats deliciously, and though the name has escaped my mind, it was a combination of a Shiraz and Cabernet, and boy did it dance around our heads.

I take my hat off to the chefs, who talentedly infused the finest ingredients by presenting both the starter and the main with formidable style and elegance, and the meaty burgers that made us fall-back and made us feel slightly self-conscious that our hands were not qualified to master the handling of the meat in between the two gigantic sesame-seeded buns.

England beat Fiji 35-11, last night. So, it was an all-around successful night.

  • TODAY IN GAY HISTORY | Paris Hilton: Gay Guys: Most Of Them Have AIDS

TODAY IN GAY HISTORY | Paris Hilton: Gay Guys: Most Of Them Have AIDS

TODAY IN GAY HISTORY: Celebrity Paris Hilton was caught on tape saying, “They’re disgusting. Dude, most of them probably have AIDS.” about men on Grindr.

    DEPOSITPHOTO.com

During a Taxi ride with a male friend, Paris is talking with a male friend about what Grindr is. The male friend explains,

“Say I log into Grindr, someone that’s on Grindr can be in that building and it tells you all the locations of where they are and you can be like, ‘Yo, you wanna f**k?’ and he might be on like, the sixth floor,”

    Paris is then heard saying,

“Ewww. Eww. To get f**ked? Gay guys are the horniest people in the world,”

“They’re disgusting. Dude, most of them probably have AIDS.”

The conversation was recorded by the taxi’s driver, who said,

“I couldn’t believe what was coming out of Paris’ mouth and the way she was talking about gay men.”

RadarOnline who broke the story reached out to Paris’s publicist for comment, they replied,

“Paris Hilton’s comments were to express that it is dangerous for anyone to have unprotected sex that could lead to a life threatening disease. The conversation became heated, after a close gay friend told her in a cab ride, a story about a gay man who has AIDS and is knowingly having unprotected sex.”

Paris apologised the next day saying,

“I am so sorry and so upset that I caused pain to my gay friends, fans and their families,

“Gay people are the strongest and most inspiring people I know.”

  • Collabro Jamie: X FACTOR Paraded “Gay Married Couples Around Like Animals In A Zoo”

Jamie Lambert, from the Britain’s, Got Talent band Collabro has criticised X FACTOR for “parading” a gay married couple in last night’s show like “animals in a zoo.”

Married couple Chris and Gabriel from Milton Keynes managed to gain four votes from the judging panel after they sung Ellie Goulding’s Love Me Like You Do. The pair received a positive response from the arena audience as well as the judging panel.

Grimshaw, who is currently part of the judging panel said,

“It felt like you meant it and there was so much sincerity in it and I think that’s why everyone liked it in here. I could feel the love coming off you.”

“You are a prime example to our generation and I am so glad gay marriage was legalised in this country,”

However, it seems as Jamie Lambert is less than impressed and tweeted that he felt that the X FACTOR producers were “parading gay married couples around like animals in a zoo”.

A number of his followers on Twitter seemed to agree with Jamie, with one saying, “Completely agree! It was sweet but they really weren’t that good….x”
Lambert revealed that he was gay, in an interview with The Sun, after Collabro won the 2014 series of BGT.
  • 10 Things You Did Not Know About Craig Revel Horwood

Mr Harsh but fair Craig Revel Horwood is quite the character, much loved by audiences but often loathed by contestants.

Here are 11 things you probably didn’t know about the Strictly Come Dancing judge.

    1) Craig Revel Horwood was born in Australia in 1965, making him 50. He was born in Ballarat in Victoria,

    2) One of his first paid jobs was as a drag queen in bars and clubs. His drag name was Lavish.

    3) At one time Craig identified as bisexual before coming out as gay. He told a reporter from OK magazine that after his wife (Jane) left him for another man he “fell in love with a bloke. I have been gay ever since.”

    4) He rarely gives the perfect 10 on Strictly. It is a highly prized honour.

    5) He’s had two cosmetic surgeries including a nose job and male breast reduction. He had his “moobs” reduced in 2010 and it cost a whopping £3000.

    6) He still does drag. Craig is still known to glam up or dress up as a dame. He’s often a dame in Panto or more recently as Miss Hannigan in Annie.

    7) He’s currently dating Britain’s Got Talent runner up Damon Scott. They live together in Hampshire and have been dating since 2013.

    8) He moved from Oz to the UK in 1989. In 2011 he officially became a British Citizen.

    9) In his tell-all book he talks about giving sexual favours to an anonymous showbiz “sugar daddy”. He said,

“I have to refer to him as ‘Mr X’ for legal reasons. Basically I got favours from him for sexual favours, so I likened that to being a rent boy, only because I didn’t feel anything for this character.

“But he paid for my dance tuition which was brilliant as it got me out of my hometown and to Melbourne where I trained.

    10) He was once anorexic. As a child he was very overweight and became ill with at one point eating just lettuce for two weeks.

Craig Revel Horwood is currently appearing on Strictly Come Dancing on BBC one

  • Kama Suits-ya: Four Iconic Sex Positions That Work For Almost Everybody (NSFW)

THEGAYUK welcomes back Durex sex educator and wondrously witty wordsmith Alix Fox to discuss timeless sex moves that are almost guaranteed to make the earth move for you – whether you like to give or receive (or both) between the sheets. ** You should be over the age of 18 to access this article**

Ess-eee-ex (I mean ‘S.E.X.’, not ‘Essex’) is a very personal thing.

Everyone has different tastes: what one guy thinks is fan-freakin-tastic will leave another feeling like he’d rather have sea urchins fired at his bollo*ks from a bazooka. Heck, there are probably even some pain fiends out there who dream about having sea urchins fired at their bollo*ks from a bazooka.

But while there is no one bedroom-based behaviour that absolutely everybody universally loves, there are certain erotic moves that have become famous for their ability to make so many of us – ‘pitchers’ and ‘catchers’ alike – think “Mamma mia, this is making me feel chuffing brilliant; more overflowing with Wonder than Stevie’s entire family tree; like a blister full of liquid bliss that’s just about to pop; and so awesomely orgasmic that my head is spinning like a top (even if I’m a bottom!).”

Join me in celebrating four iconic sex positions that are all fairly simple and straightforward, yet infinitely sensual and satisfying…

Layers gonna lay, lay, lay, lay, lay: The Missionary (ABOVE)

Missionary has an unfair reputation for being boring; the beige of bonking. Yet in reality, this traditional, no-frills-just-basic-skills position can result in a gorgeously intimate, loving experience. It allows both partners to look into each other’s eyes; share smiles as they move together; kiss and hold each other during intercourse, and enjoy maximum skin-on-skin body contact.

It may be plain, but Missionary can also be just plain lovely.

In addition, it’s a really good position to opt for if one or both of you are new to penetrative sex, or you’re just beginning a physical relationship with each other.

Why? Because being face to face like this facilitates clear communication. Each of you can easily see your partner’s expressions, so you can quickly tell if they look uncomfortable and perhaps need to slow things down (or, conversely, if they’re feeling more fabulous than a drag queen’s sequin frock collection and would defy Cher and turn back time if it meant they could savour this delicious sex session all over again!). Missionary is not a position made for jackhammer banging; it lends itself to gentle thrusting, and caring, trusting lovemaking.

Want the closeness of Missionary but fancy spicing things up with some extra sensation? Try using lube not only in the anal and genital areas, but also up over your stomachs and chests, so that you slip-slide against each other smoothly as you move.

Cooling lube like Durex Play Tingling can be refreshing on your bodies when hot summer nights get sticky and sweaty. Its zinginess is enhanced when you blow on it, so set up an electric fan to send a breeze coursing across you both to intensify the minty freshness. Try popping the bottle in the fridge beforehand for extra chilled thrills, too. Affectionate, connected, yet hot sex, with cool effects? Missionary accomplished.

Nice bit of ruff: The Doggy

Doing it doggy style: the only time two gay blokes will have a Lassie in the bedroom. 😉

You’d be barking mad not to love this iconic position. For a start, it offers fantastic visuals for the top: their lover on all fours, beautiful botty in the air, presented for him to appreciate…mmmm-mm!

Doggy also allows for easy, comfortable entry for both parties: the receiver can spread their legs as wide as they need to, and the giver is able to clearly see what they’re doing as they ease themselves inside. That might sound obvious, but if you’ve even had a lover accidentally (and painfully) bend your wang while trying to lower themselves onto it and missing, or you’ve been prodded and poked by your partner’s peen as they try and fail to hit the target, you’ll know how much of a relief a simple, easy access position can be for both of you, especially to get things going at the beginning of a session.

While Missionary brings lovers face to face, Doggy turns them away from each other – yet this too has its bonuses (bone-uses?!). Neither of you have to worry that your sex face looks like Deirdre Barlow opening a shocking phone bill. And if you feel like grunting, moaning, or coming out with some dirty talk filthier than a chimney sweep’s flannel, it’s a lot easier to let go when you don’t feel like you’re being watched.

Doin’ it Doggy means the bottom can touch themselves during intercourse – or reach through their legs and fondle their lover’s testicles if they’re feeling more generous!

However, Doggy can still be sensual and sensitive. It’s quite a vulnerable pose that requires a degree of surrender from the receiver; should the giver want to offer some tenderness, they can run their hands over their lover’s back and shoulders, and lean forwards to kiss their neck and whisper sugar-sweetness into their ears.

Want to teach your Doggy new tricks? When he’s in the position, command your man to crawl on his hands and knees to a different room in the house. It adds a little bit of provocative power play, and mixes things up by taking you to a new location. Good boy… It’s the dog’s boll*cks.

Saddle up, yee-haaaaaaaa!:: The Cowboy & Reverse Cowboy

If it’s your first time to the rodeo, let me explain: the Cowboy involves one guy laying down on his back, while his man straddles him, and sits either facing his head (Standard Cowboy) or turned towards his toes (Reverse Cowboy).

The stand-out quality of this bucking bronco of a position is that it allows the receiver to control the pace and depth of thrusting – although the giver can grab his lover’s hips or buttocks to guide this too, if he wishes.

If you want to put on a show for your partner that will have them salivating as though they’ve just had an entire packet of Haribo Tangfastics poured into their gob, perching atop their crotch in the forward-facing Cowboy is the best pose to adopt. Treat them to the sight of you stroking your nipples; trailing your fingers down your torso; gripping yourself; leaning back to grasp their ankles…

As with any form of anal sex, for both comfort and safety, it’s essential to use plenty of lubricant during Cowboy nookie. Silicone-based types like Durex Play Perfect Glide last much longer than water-based varieties. Certainly avoid any lube containing spermicidal ingredients, such as nonoxynol-9. These can irritate the lining of the rectum, causing itching and peeling not unlike sunburn, and making you more susceptible to infections. Keep such chemicals well away from your raunch ranch, pardner.

    All time blow: The 69

Satisfying, stress-relieving, bond-enhancing, glorious, I-want-more-ious sex doesn’t have to involve penetration. And when it comes to oral pleasure, the magic number isn’t 3 – it’s 69.

This legendary topsy-turvy type of titillation, in which both lucky lovers get a mouthful of man, can be a tad tricksy – especially if you’re not the same height – but it’s worth persevering with because mirror, mirror, on the wall, which position is the fairest of them all? Why, 69 every time, my dear: it’s the very definition of “mutually beneficial”.

Laying side by side can be more cosy than one gent clambering on top of the other, his crotch hovering over his partner’s face and dunking into his mouth like a Rich Tea Finger into a mug of char – although some find that kind of intensity to be precisely their cup of tea.

If you find giving oral a challenge, try sipping orange juice beforehand; it can help suppress the gag reflex. Resist adding vodka and turning it into a Harvey Wallbanger, though, however apt the name: alcohol dries and tightens the throat, which does not a brilliant blow job make.

  • COMMENT | What Jeremy Corbyn Has Already Done For The Gay Community

Many of my gay chums often tell me they are not “into politics”. Personally, I’ve always often thought this was a bit odd because I’ve always thought of being gay and being political as going hand in hand.

We have long had things to fight for in the name of fairness and equality and pressure to put on those in power; the long struggle for equal marriage being just one example in recent history.

But politics, especially that coming straight out of Westminster, leaves many cold. And after the recession and all that nasty MP’s expenses business then is it any wonder?

Even if you despise all things political though, the rise of Jeremy Corbyn has been inescapable. And somewhere in the media storm and the thousands of words written about him, there is one announcement that is both very welcome and hugely long overdue.

In unveiling his Shadow Cabinet team, Corbyn named Luciana Berger as the very first Shadow Minister For Mental Health.

Here we need some context: a University of Cambridge study published in September 2014 found that 12 percent of lesbian women and almost 19 percent of bisexual women reported mental health problems, compared with six percent of heterosexual women. Also, 11 percent of gay men and 15 percent of bisexual men reported problems, compared to five percent of heterosexual men.

It’s pretty clear that mental health is an area of huge importance to the continued wellbeing of us all in the LGB community. However long waiting times for an initial hospital consultation and the postcode lottery that results in standards of care being entirely dependent on where you live continue to be a big problem.

And we all know that the Conservative policy of austerity has led to funding cuts to many organisations that were previously there to provide support and advice.

Let’s not get too ahead of ourselves here; the appointment of a Shadow Minister is in no way the miracle cure to solve the problem with the current state of care. And to be brutally realistic, we still have a government in power who plan on cutting public services yet more in the next few years. Not a great sign that an already difficult situation will get easier anytime soon. But at least for once we can say with certainty that a political party is actually taking it seriously rather than paying lip service with a brief paragraph in the manifesto at election time.

So yes, these are politicians we are talking about. And we’ve all learnt not to trust them right? So it could turn out to be a naïve hope but just maybe the appointment of Luciana Berger means that with the closer scrutiny a designated minister should bring, there just might be a grown up conversation about mental health care in this country.

Yes. I did say it was possibly a naïve hope.

But mental health matters. Given the statistics it is a topic that touches all of us in the gay community, if not personally then chances are through our closest friends and families.

And that is true, whether you are “into politics” or not.

  • X FACTOR Ollie Marland Sent Best Mate To A Gay Bar As A Joke

X FACTOR hopeful Ollie Marland sent his friend to a gay bar, it seems as a practical joke.

Sonny Jay, took to Twitter in February to show his followers that he had been sent to a gay bar by his mate Olly Marland, who is appearing in tonight’s episode of X FACTOR.

Sonny tweeted a picture of himself looking embarrassed and covering his face in a text message he shared on Twitter, saying,

“Dude you sent me to gay bar”

and then pointing out an individual in the corner continued,

    “That’s a man”

It transpires that Sonny had asked his mate Ollie for a good place to visit whilst in Manchester and Ollie sent him to a bar on Canal Street.

Ollie, from Stoke-On-Trent, has already come under some criticism after he was exposed not to be a “newcomer” to the music scene having already toured with McBusted and has over 91,000 followers on Twitter and over 311,000 followers on Facebook.

  • Cute Gay Couple Could Make X FACTOR History

Chris Kennedy and his partner Gabriel Cabrera could make X FACTOR history tonight if they make it through to the judges’ houses.

The pair, who met on a karaoke website, auditioned in front a 3000 strong audience and of course the 4 judges in a bid to make it through to boot camp and the judges’ houses. The couple go by the name The Shures.

The married couple, Chris, 28 and Gabriel, 32 who both live in Milton Keynes sang Ellie Goulding’s Love Me Like You Do, to an audience that was clearly loving the love in.

Openly gay judge, Nick Grimshaw commented,

“It felt like you meant it and there was so much sincerity in it and I think that’s why everyone liked it in here. I could feel the love coming off you.”

“You are a prime example to our generation and I am so glad gay marriage was legalised in this country,”

“Gabriel you are the better singer in my opinion and I guess your voices do work well together but I think that when he took the lead, the song was much, much better.”

The X Factor continues tonight at 8pm on ITV1.
