  • India Willoughby: Women like me are drowned out by the LGBT narrative

India Willougby has hit out at the LGBT+ community saying that women like her have been silenced.

Celebrity Big Brother housemate, India Willoughby has said that she feels that ‘women like her’ have been drowned out by the current “LGBT narrative that is going on”.

The trans newsreader, who has already criticised the genderfluid and non-binary community for what she feels “cheapens” the seriousness around transgender issues, was expressing how she felt men in the house would be more comfortable flirting with Shane Jenek (Courtney Act) because “he’s a gay guy” than herself, because she’s a trans woman.

Shane was quick to point out that perhaps it was most likely because of his demeanour not just because he was a gay guy.

India went on to explain that it was part of the problem of being “hitched” to the LGBT community.

Shane responded by reminding India that women like India have actually been “uplifted” by the community. He told India, “… the LGBT has enabled you to be here and have this voice… by lobbying, essentially, with the LG and the B… we now have an environment where someone can be trans and be a newsreader”.

  • India Willoughby faces eviction after nominations from her Celebrity housemates

India Willoughby faces eviction from the Celebrity Big Brother house.

After receiving more nominations than any other housemate, India Willoughby‘s future in the Big Brother house is in jeopardy. As India’s name was called by each of her nominees, the live studio audience’s booing for India could be heard by all in the house, showing how unpopular India has become with the viewing public. India later remarked that she had become the panto villain.

In keeping with this year’s theme, Year Of The Woman, only the house’s women were able to nominate and here’s how they voted:

    • Amanda Barrie voted for Jonny and India.
    • Ann Widdecombe voted for India and Andrew.
    • Ashley James voted for India and Jonny.
    • India Willoughby voted for Ann and Ginuwine.
    • Jess Impiazzi voted for India and Ann.
    • Maggie Oliver voted for India and Jonny.
    • Malika Haqq voted for Ann and Andrew.
    • Rachel Johnson voted for India and Jonny.

    Bedgate

Amanda Barrie, who was accused by India of misgendering earlier this week, nominated the newsreader but gave reasons surrounding India’s decision to take Ann Widdecombe’s bed on the first night for her decision.

India was also nominated by Rachel Johnson, Ann Widdecombe, Ashley James, Jess Impriazzi, Maggie Oliver. A few other of the housemates also gave the bed snatching as a reason for their decision.

The first eviction will take place on Friday night, on Channel 5.

  • Courtney Acts proudly shows off her “tuck” in CBB shower room

Courtney Act is breaking drag boundaries…

A drag queen’s tuck is probably the most hidden and closely guarded secret, but not for Courtney Act – who today will show off her tuck, rather proudly, on Celebrity Big Brother.

    [nsfw][/nsfw]

As Shane turns into Courtney Act, Shane reveals how he tucks his penis – proudly displaying his naked body in the Celebrity Big Brother bathroom.

    [nsfw][/nsfw]

Halfway there, Shane J comes out of the shower after achieving the perfect tuck – where a drag queen effectively tucks his penis under and fixes it in place with duct tape.

  • India Willoughby will not accept Amanda Barrie’s misgendering apology

    “Apology not accepted”

India Willoughby, 52, has taken a firm stance on misgendering while in the Celebrity Big Brother house and has refused to accept the apology of 82-year-old veteran actor Amanda Barrie.

In the lead up to India not accepting Corrie legend Amanda Barrie’s apology, Amanda misgendered India twice. India accused Amanda of misgendering her – and noted that the second time that Amanda chuckled about it afterwards.

Since being in the house, India has talked openly and frequently about her transition and being transgender. She took a swipe at those who identify as non-binary saying that she considered people who were “Bob on Monday and Barbara on Tuesday” cheapened the transgender experience.

Ann Widdecombe, Rachel Johnson and Amanda Barrie all misgendered the newscaster.

    Not accepting

Amanda later sought out India who was sitting alone in the garden. When Amanda apologised for the incident, India refused to accept the apology saying “Apology not accepted”.

Her refusal to accept and move on from Amanda’s mistake was met with anger from some viewers on Twitter, who suggested that India needed to let the issue go.

  • Housemates have misgendered India Willoughby numerous times since she went in

India Willoughby has been misgendered by numerous housemates, numerous times since entering the Big Brother house.

Do the housemates have an issue with recognising India Willoughby‘s gender? It seems so after Ann Widdecombe, Rachel Johnson and Amanda Barrie all misgendered the newscaster.

The latest incident happened when Corrie legend Amanda Barrie who herself is also part of the LGBT+ community misgendered India in a discussion in the living room. India accused Amanda of misgendering her twice – and noted that the second time actually Amanda chuckled about it afterwards.

India said that she took great offence to the misgendering. Amanda said that she apologised deeply.

India said that an apology was “not enough” and explained how upset it made her.

Last night viewers of Rylan’s Bit On The Side were shocked when footage not shown in the main programme showed Rachel Johnson also misgendering India.

Ann Widdecombe was the first celebrity to call India a “he” in a moment for which the former politician apologised for.

Ann waded into the discussion and said that if the misgendering wasn’t deliberate an apology was always enough.

Since being in the house, India has talked openly and frequently about her transition and being transgender. She took a swipe at those who identify as non-binary saying, that she considered people who were “Bob on Monday and Barbara on Tuesday” cheapened the transgender experience.

India was not impressed with Ann’s interruption and said that an apology was not enough and that being misgender was deeply offensive.

  • India Willoughby: Trans can mean Bob on Monday, Barbara on Tuesday

India Willoughby’s frank and honest chat about what “transgender” means might cause offence to some in the LGBT+ community.

It didn’t take long for Celebrity Big Brother star India Willoughby to talk about what being transgender means to her. The star who became the UK’s first openly transgender newsreader was talking to Whistle-blower Maggie Oliver on why she doesn’t have many fans in the transgender community.

India and Maggie were talking, when Maggie remarked that she thought that India was brave in her transition and that she would be a great advocate for others who want to transition, but India didn’t think she was.

Speaking from her bed, India said, “A lot of transgender people don’t like me though, because of the LGBT thing and pointing out the differences… It’s because transgender now, they include drag queens. With people like me, it’s not a part-time thing and it’s not a really a choice. I hated being trans. It was horrible. For other people under than word, what is now transgender it can mean anything from RuPaul to somebody who is Bob on Monday and Barbara on Tuesday. I feel that soft of cheapens the seriousness…”.

  • Sarah Harding wins Celebrity Big Brother

For the final time, Emma Willis addressed the Celebrity Big Brother house and announced live, that this year’s winner who received the most votes was Sarah and Amelia as runner up.

CBB’s tearful champion Sarah left the house to a mixed reaction from the crowd, greeted by Emma.

Sarah confirmed, ‘I’m in shock. It’s been a bit of a tough ride. I was so out of my comfort zone, so many big personalities. I needed a new chapter and start a fresh. I just thought what better way to get out of my comfort zone and to show the viewers at home I’m just a normal girl. I’ve gone through a whole spectrum of emotions.’

She added: ‘I want to say thank you to who voted. I honestly didn’t believe this would happen.’

Sarah continued: ‘It was really difficult to adjust to the new environment. The main reason was to show everyone that I was just Sarah. I’ve been through ups and downs. I’m so grateful, it’s made me stronger and tougher. Once I got more adjusted, I was definitely feeling more settled. It’s made me a stronger person, I’ve grown a thicker skin, I am an anxious character that’s just me.’

On Chad: ‘I was in a short term relationship, I was dating somebody. We (Chad) found some common ground and started hanging around together, he became my best friend in the house, he has been my rock. I had to make a difficult decision. We’ve been through the mill together, it’s like we’ve known each other for months and months. We are going to see what happens, I would definitely like a future with Chad!’

Sarah has won £50,000 for her chosen charity Haig Housing.

In Amelia’s post eviction interview with Emma, she confirmed:

‘I want to go back in! I absolutely loved it in there! We all had a chat from day one that Sarah’s going to win…I didn’t think I’d get past week one! I was boring, there were so many big characters in there.’

She added: ‘I was extremely grateful that no one nominated me, I must have been doing something right. You only get this experience once! After the reception tonight, I can’t thank everyone enough! The whole experience was incredible, meeting the people in there.’

On Sam: ‘Me and Sam had a lot of conversations in there, I know where he is in his life…Whatever happens, I’ve met someone absolutely incredible! Me and Sam always needed to have that final chat, and you know what we’re cool. He says he wants to take me out for a drink, of course I want to go out with him for a drink!’

On Sarah: ‘I still love Sarah, I think she is an amazing girl. One night she screamed and told me to get away, and no one should be spoken to like that and I’m not having that. She was very entertaining, fair play to the woman! Sarah’s like the female version of Peter Pan who never wants to grow up.’

CBB will be back in January.
