  • Laurence Fox: “Trans women are biological men”

Laurence Fox: “Trans women are biological men”

Laurence Fox, who recently called numerous LGBT+ people paedophiles on Twitter has waded into another LGBT+ issue; whether transgender people are biologically men or women.

Seemingly for no reason, (as he was originally calling on people to resist the government’s lockdown policies) actor turned politician Laurence Fox waded into a debate on whether trans women are women after being asked by one user of Twitter, “Do you agree that trans women are women?”.

He answered the question in the negative, saying, that he believed that trans women are biological men. “They are not biological women and never will be”.

    https://twitter.com/LozzaFox/status/1320401214165712898

The question came from a Twitter user Perky Warbeck.

He also called on the BBC to be defunded after the corporation used its platform to educate children on the importance of gender identity and pronoun usage.

‘The world is against trans people’

Celebrity Big Brother star and journalist India Willoughby responded to Fox’s tweet, saying “I’m a woman. I’m biological. I didn’t choose this. I’ve had to walk through fire to put things right. Merely existing is tough. We have nothing. The whole world is against us.

“Anyone offering a pat on the head or conditional acceptance after what I’ve been through can jog on.

“Lost count of how many non-trans people insist that can’t possibly be so. Based on what? Their own life experience? Born in the wrong body is definitely a thing. Wires get crossed. It’s frustrating and disorientating. Nothing fun or titillating about it.

“Trans people literally can’t win. If you’re a kid they campaign to deny treatments to “protect” you. But become an adult and have the treatment anyway, and the same “protectors” will attack.”

  • India Willoughby just pointed out something pretty crucial about ITV’s Loose Women

India Willoughby just pointed out something pretty crucial about ITV’s Loose Women

    An oversight?

Journalist India Willoughby just questioned why one of ITV’s flagship daytime programmes, Loose Women has never had any permanent LGBT+ representation on its panel – despite the fact that they have, in the past, talked regularly about LGBT+ issues.

In her now-deleted Tweet, India said, “#LooseWomen has never had a regular panelist who’s LGBT in 30 years. Will this be ever addressed? #2020

    https://twitter.com/IndiaWilloughby/status/1272863024118988803

Then added, “Currently solely for straight, coupled-up, hetero-normative women. That’s the profile.”

    https://twitter.com/IndiaWilloughby/status/1272865610112909314

The show currently has Kaye Adams, Ruth Lansford, Andrea McLean and Christine Lampard as its regular presenters.

    Three out panelists

The show which has been running since 1999, has only featured three out, panellists. None of which had long term contracts.

In 2004, Amy Lamé, who is out and London’s “Night Czar” was a presenter for a brief period and then in 2018, the show saw Anna Richardson take on some hosting responsibilities.

Also in 2018 Mel B had also had a stint as a guest panelist.

  • India Willoughby slams Katie Hopkins after suggesting society is experimenting with trans kids

India Willoughby slams Katie Hopkins after suggesting society is experimenting with trans kids

India Willoughby, one of the UK’s most visible trans women has slammed Katie Hopkins after suggesting that society is experimenting with trans kids’ minds.

Katie Hopkins was dealt an online blow from fellow former Celebrity Big Brother star, India Willougby, after the controversial former LBC radio presenter / Sun columnist / Mail Online columnist, TV presenter and Apprentice walk out, suggested that parents are the ones who suffer when their trans offspring decide to have surgery.

Hopkins’ comment was in reference to a mother who wrote on Twitter, “A plastic surgeon is removing my dghtr’s (daughter’s) healthy breasts tomorrow & he has been pd (paid) at least $8000CAD to do this. How much $$ will he want in a few years when she decides to reclaim her female body?

Hopkins, wrote back, “It is often mums who suffer when society experiments with kids’ minds

StickerWoman is a hashtag which has been linked to stickers which have been found in various UK cities which state, “Women Don’t Have Penises”.

    “No One Is Experimenting”

In a blistering response, Willoughby called Hopkins out on her statement saying, “Bitch. No one is experimenting with kids [sic] minds.

“You’re the sort who says they should go through puberty regardless of who they insist they are.

“And when they come out on the other side taller, broader, hairier, and unhappy, you’d be the first to point and laugh.

    “I repeat. Bitch”.

Hopkins undeterred replied, “I stand with Women do not have penises”.

“No young kid get sex-change surgery”

Willoughby shocked by Hopkin’s “ignorance” explained, “Just as much as you knew who you were, so do trans kids. If kids grow out of it without pressure, great – feel relieved for them! No young kid get sex-change surgery”.

Before turning her ire to the LGBT+ community stating “I’m mad at LGBT as well though – because they’ve watered T down to nothing”.

Previously, Hopkins caused offence during the previous season of Celebrity Big Brother, in which Willoughby took part, by Tweeting, “I am not transphobic. Live your life how you damn well please. Just don’t ask me to call a castrated man a woman”.

  • COMMENT | India Willoughby: Attention seeking or something more?

So we have yet another ‘celebrity’ making noises about the world of LGBT. Except for this time, in a slight change of pace, it’s from one of our own. India Willoughby is one of the contestants (now ex) of the Celebrity Big Brother house and has caused somewhat of a stir with her comments about drag queens.

Let me start by saying that I don’t watch Celebrity Big Brother (or Big Brother) as, for me, it has lost its way. It started off being genuine and now it’s so convoluted that I would rather watch paint dry. At least you know it is paint on a wall and not some self-interested soul out to get fame and fortune. But I digress.

This ‘fear’ of drag queens peaked my interest however for two reasons. 1) having spent a lot of time lately learning about the experiences of the Trans community I wanted to know where this came from and 2) what possible reason could acting like a child about it possibly serve? Oh yes, fame and celebrity… silly me!

There are people in the gay community that are ‘afraid’ of drag queens. But most of them from what I can see aren’t actually afraid of drag queens themselves, but more what they represent. The same applies for those that say they find them in bad taste (each to their own). For me, drag queens represent confidence, attention, fun and ambition. Where they go, especially the ones that perform, trouble always follows (I say trouble, what I mean is fun!) and for some people that can be too much and come across as overbearing. We all have our demons and for some, the thought of being a stage drag queens ‘victim’ is just too much.

But what happens when that inner demon actually becomes or is something else?

I’m not a transexual nor have I had any urges to change gender so I can’t put myself in India’s position. But what I can do, is see how her community reacts to her and how her actions make me feel as a member of her wider community.

In a recent interview on Celebrity Big Brother‘s bit on the side, Paris Lees outlined how some of where India was coming from resonated with her own previous experiences.

“We went to see the Thai ladyboys, and it was essentially these transgender women dancing about on-stage, and I felt so uncomfortable. It was like, guys, we were on the beach yesterday if you wanted to see a transgender woman dancing around in a bikini.”

In the various points, Paris raised the two that stood out where that Drag Queens are often seen by most people as Transexual when they are not (namely because there is still a lack of education out there) and India’s transition is still fairly recent therefore such fears may well be bringing up issues yet unresolved.

I’ve not watched India in precise detail but surely regardless of cause this outburst (and then going to stand by her actions) just makes her another Caitlyn Jenner?

Is this also a good time to also mention the recent images of her that have appeared with her tweeting about having fun with at least two drag queens (with pictures)? So while I’m willing to believe there are some deep rooted issues there, the fuss and nonsense coming from her to turn everything into an attack on her is nothing short of over the top and will only do more harm to her and the trans community than good.

As an openly gay man, in order for me to appreciate what it means to be a gay man in today’s world, I have to understand my heritage. Understand what it must have been like to live in fear of going to jail, being killed or getting HIV. The same applies to any members of the LGBT+ community, including India and her trans heritage and family.

While friends to LGBT+ people are slowing growing they still aren’t huge in number and many of us still face violence, death and isolation. So if we can’t learn to get along with each other then how on earth can we expect non LGBT+ people to?

  • India Willoughby is the first evictee from Celebrity Big Brother

Controversial housemate, India Willoughby is the first housemate to be evicted from Celebrity Big Brother.

On Tuesday night, Emma Willis entered the Celebrity Big Brother house and surprised the sixteen housemates with live face-to-face nominations. The girls voted in a showdown that left India and Jonny up for the public vote.

Since Tuesday, viewers have been voting to save either India or Jonny. Tonight, in the first live eviction of the series, Emma revealed live to the house that India received the fewest votes and would be the first housemate to leave Celebrity Big Brother January 2018.

After saying goodbye to her fellow housemates, India was greeted to cheers from the crowd.

Emma asked if India expected to be nominated, “I sensed it in the room actually. The whole three bears episode. Honestly, that was another big mistake. I watch Big Brother every year and I know it’s crucial to get a good bed because obviously sleep is a big issue in there. Paramount in my head, as soon as I got in the house, I wanted a single bed. It was just one of those things; I didn’t see that it was Ann’s bed.”

Asked if she thought the outcome would have been different if the male housemates were able to nominate, India told Emma, “I don’t think so. I think I peeved them off on the first night that they came in with that question about gender and love. That got their hackles up a little bit. My tactics were all over the place.”

Emma asked if she went in there to play a game, and India replied, “I was psyched up to mix it a little bit. Maybe have some confrontations; just stir things up, cause a little bit of trouble. But it’s not that sort of house.”

When asked about Shane J, India told Emma, “Shane in there has been terrific. He’s a great guy, we’ll stay friends after this show.”

Emma asked India about Ashley and Ginuwine, “I don’t think it is a showmance, honestly. It is genuine that they like each other. The eye contact is consistent.”

India wants Shane J to win, “for me, he’s the star of the show.”

Tune into Celebrity Big Brother’s Bit On The Side with Rylan Clark-Neale at 11:05pm on Channel 5. Celebrity Big Brother returns tomorrow night at 10:30pm on Channel 5, or catch it first on 5Star at 9pm. Emma will be back next Friday at 9pm for a live DOUBLE eviction.

  • India Willoughby: Women like me are drowned out by the LGBT narrative

India Willougby has hit out at the LGBT+ community saying that women like her have been silenced.

Celebrity Big Brother housemate, India Willoughby has said that she feels that ‘women like her’ have been drowned out by the current “LGBT narrative that is going on”.

The trans newsreader, who has already criticised the genderfluid and non-binary community for what she feels “cheapens” the seriousness around transgender issues, was expressing how she felt men in the house would be more comfortable flirting with Shane Jenek (Courtney Act) because “he’s a gay guy” than herself, because she’s a trans woman.

Shane was quick to point out that perhaps it was most likely because of his demeanour not just because he was a gay guy.

India went on to explain that it was part of the problem of being “hitched” to the LGBT community.

Shane responded by reminding India that women like India have actually been “uplifted” by the community. He told India, “… the LGBT has enabled you to be here and have this voice… by lobbying, essentially, with the LG and the B… we now have an environment where someone can be trans and be a newsreader”.

CBB continues tonight on Channel 5 at 9 PM

  • India Willoughby faces eviction after nominations from her Celebrity housemates

India Willoughby faces eviction from the Celebrity Big Brother house.

After receiving more nominations than any other housemate, India Willoughby‘s future in the Big Brother house is in jeopardy. As India’s name was called by each of her nominees, the live studio audience’s booing for India could be heard by all in the house, showing how unpopular India has become with the viewing public. India later remarked that she had become the panto villain.

In keeping with this year’s theme, Year Of The Woman, only the house’s women were able to nominate and here’s how they voted:

    • Amanda Barrie voted for Jonny and India.
    • Ann Widdecombe voted for India and Andrew.
    • Ashley James voted for India and Jonny.
    • India Willoughby voted for Ann and Ginuwine.
    • Jess Impiazzi voted for India and Ann.
    • Maggie Oliver voted for India and Jonny.
    • Malika Haqq voted for Ann and Andrew.
    • Rachel Johnson voted for India and Jonny.

    Bedgate

Amanda Barrie, who was accused by India of misgendering earlier this week, nominated the newsreader but gave reasons surrounding India’s decision to take Ann Widdecombe’s bed on the first night for her decision.

India was also nominated by Rachel Johnson, Ann Widdecombe, Ashley James, Jess Impriazzi, Maggie Oliver. A few other of the housemates also gave the bed snatching as a reason for their decision.

The first eviction will take place on Friday night, on Channel 5.
