    Bake… Wake… ‘eaven’s sake…

Great British Bake Off starts tonight and we’re getting all our eggs, flour and cookie cutting implements ready and in a row. So what do we know about the show that Channel 4 blew a lot of dough (sorry not sorry) on.

Over the next 10 weeks, 12 of the best amateur bakers in Britain will whisk, knead, ice, beat and bake their way through classic British cakes, perfect patisserie, Italian delights, sticky caramel constructions and elaborate layered puddings.

All Twelve will be hoping to impress with their skill, creativity, knowledge and passion and clinch the Bake off Crown.

There are 30, yes 30 challenges!

Each of the 30 new challenges have been carefully designed by judges Paul Hollywood and Prue Leith to reveal just who is a star baker.

    Who is the talent?

But it’s not just a new experience for the bakers. Also joining the tent for the first time are Sandi Toksvig and Noel Fielding, who will be with the bakers every step of the way, ready with a pertinent pep talk, a helpful hand or just a sympathetic shoulder to cry on…

    Who are the bakers?

Find out all about the bakers here.

What time does it start and what channel?

Great British Bake Off starts on the 29th August and carries on for 10 weeks on Channel 4 at 8 PM.

  • This is how many men would like to be in a poly marriage

    I do, I do, I do…

This is how many men would like to be in a poly marriage

Men who want to have a poly relationship or marriage (that’s a relationship with more than one person) is on the rise. New research conducted by YouGov shows that one in eight guys (12 percent) would consider a polygamous marriage. Although there is the perfect number of partners over the usual one spouse, the research found.

The number of women who would consider a poly marriage was just 4 percent.

More men than women up for Poly Relationships

According to the survey, “One in twenty men (5%) and one in fifty women (2%) would like to have two married partners, while an identical number in both cases would like three, and a further 2% of men would like four or more married partners (compared to a statistical 0% of women).”

Only 1 per cent of men would want 10 or more partners.

In total 2316 UK adults were asked.

Monogamy was still the most popular choice. The overwhelming majority would opt for just one life-long spouse.

  • Haaz Sleiman calls out “idiot” Advocate journalist who asked him about sexuality

Haaz Sleiman might have just come out as gay officially, but it didn’t stop him from taking a swipe at a journalist who worked at an LGBT magazine for asking about his sexuality back in 2009.

Nurse Jackie actor, Haaz Sleiman blasted an Advocate journalist for asking about his sexuality back in 2009 when he was doing promo for Nurse Jackie. Although he recently came out as gay – he didn’t always identify as such – or want to talk openly about his sexuality and agreed to talk to the mag, with the condition of “no personal questions”.

The journo, however, either because he didn’t get the memo or just disrespected the actor’s wishes, asked anyway – leading the 41-year-old to accuse the hack of asking the question “on purpose”.

Haaz slammed the reporter in question saying,

“The advocate wanted to interview me.

“I told Showtime only on one condition, no personal questions.

The advocate agreed. At the end of the half hour interview over the phone the idiot interviewer, whom I think was gay (?), asked me if was gay or straight (no personal questions)… I was so shocked. I froze. My body started shaking. And then I lied and said I was straight. Shame on gay people who are not kind to other gay people. He did that on purpose. ?”

The Advocate is one of America’s oldest LGBT Magazines. It was founded in 1967. It was bought by the company now known as Here Media in 2008.

In their interview with him, which is credited to Brandon Voss,  it is written up as:

Ever since you were cast as Mo-Mo, there have been discussions in the blogosphere about your own sexuality. Have you found that people now seem more interested in whether or not you’re gay in real life?
I don’t really read blogs, so I don’t know what’s being said. That’s never come up, but it’s not something that would bother me if it did. It’s all about doing good work, and the stuff that comes with it afterward, it is all fun.

But for the sake of satisfying curiosity once and for all, you’re straight, right?
    Yes.

  • Nurse Jackie actor comes out as gay and a “total bottom”

We at TGUK tower have seen a lot of coming out news and the various ways celebs decide to come out, but this is a first…

Nurse Jackie cutie, Haaz Sleiman has come out as gay – and not just gay – but a totally bottom – spelling it out for people, he said, “Not only am I a bottom, but I’m also a total bottom, which means I like it up you-know-where.”

    https://www.instagram.com/p/BYHGXeqhses/?taken-by=haazsleiman

In a video, which he posted to his Instagram page the actor, stated, ““I am a gay, Muslim, Arab-American man, and I’m going to take it even further. Not only am I gay, but I’m also a bottom.”

He made the post in reference to the news that more LGBT+ people have been killed in the US so far this year, than in the whole of 2016, excluding the Pulse Massacre.

The 41-year-old actor had a message for homophobes as well in his message,

“To all the homophobes living in the United States of America and across the globe, Why not?

“If you ever come to me to kill me just because I’m gay, I will destroy you. I might be gay, and I might be a nice guy, but don’t get it twisted because I will f*ck you up.”

This isn’t the first mention on the subject of sexuality, however, the hunk has been laying down a lot of LGBT+ positive messages on his social feeds recently, but it’s the first time he’s officially said the words!

However, he did say, that women were better kissers than men – our advice? Keep trying – there are some stunners out there!

  • Colin Jackson, BBC presenter and Olympic star comes out as gay

A former Olympian and BBC presenter has come out as gay in the most chilled way.

Colin Jackson, 50, a former Olympic hurdler and now BBC sports commentator has come out as gay on Swedish television.

The 50-year-old came out in a TV interview with SVT reporters Kajsa Bergqvist and Peter Häggström. He had previously denied rumours about his sexuality when a kiss and tell story surfaced about him in the mid-noughties.

He said that he previously decided not to come out because he worried that the press would ‘sensationalise’ his private life.

The news was revealed on the Swedish series Rainbow Heroes because of what he described as their careful and “in-depth” choice of questions.

He told Kajsa, “The way you asked me, it was a whole storytelling kind of thing and you were just interested in the way it affected me sports-wise, emotionally-wise and my preparation.”

Bravo! Another sportsman comes out – shatter that sports cupboard/closet!

  • 12 things these celebs have revealed about their peens

So … ever wondered what the celebs think of their Johnsons?

Willies come in all shapes and all sizes. Here’s what celebs have said about their own appendages – or what their significant others have said about them!

Robbie, not small – just big thighs…

Robbie Williams recently admitted not having the biggest willy in the world. Speaking to the Sun on Sunday he said,

“It’s not a small c**k, I’ve got massive thighs and it’s an optical illusion’. It’s not though, it really is quite small! ”So if I had an extra inch and a half, I’d be a naturist.”

Enrique Iglesias “I’m in the middle”

In 2014 Heartthrob Enrique Iglesias revealed to Cosmo that his girlfriend is sick of hearing about his penis size. He said,

“If I read one more thing on the internet about you having a small penis.… But she laughs it off. It’s funny. What’s the average penis size?”

When told it was five and a half inches he said,

    “I’m in the middle.”

    Justin Bieber, clean AF

    He told Men’s Health recently,

“I feel like my penis is more clean than my fingers…”

    Rightiho then.

    Howard Stern – Pimple Peen

Howard Stern says he’s hung like a pimple. Enough said about that the better to be honest who compares their little Mr to a zit?

Jon Hamm – not impressed by the big willy talk

In a blog Hamm took matters into his own hands – and slammed the big P talk:

“They’re called ‘privates’ for a reason,” he says. “I’m wearing pants, for fuck’s sake. Lay off. I mean, it’s not like I’m a fucking lead miner.

“There are harder jobs in the world. But when people feel the freedom to create Tumblr accounts about my cock,

I feel like that wasn’t part of the deal … But whatever. I guess it’s better than being called out for the opposite.”

Joel Domett’s actually released a statement!

His penis became very famous recently and released a statement about that Catfishing incident.

Well, now he (sorry his penis) has written a statement about his new found fame and the perils of cyber sex.

“The following is a statement written by Joel’s Penis before it went, with Joel, into the Jungle. His Penis wrote this as damage limitation just in case pictures of it arose in the tabloids and on the internet while Joel was in there and Penis was unable to defend itself.

“Recently, after being a relative recluse for Joel’s entire life (with the exception of the odd drunken public appearance), after a stupid error on Joel’s part there are now pictures of me, ‘Joel’s part’ on the internet. I was quite happy being a completely unknown penis and this new found fame is frankly horrific for me and Joel, although we have both realised that it’s better to laugh about it than cry about it (Only Joel can Laugh but we can both cry…).”

“Joel was Catfished a long time ago by somebody pretending to be someone else on the internet and was lured into Skype sex. That Skype sex session turned out to be entirely fake and has come back to bite Joel in the ass (Joel’s Ass is a good friend of mine and also features in the video). It’s a genuinely horrific thing for another human being to do, to take advantage of what is private of someone’s life and make it public for everyone to see.

“He obviously chose to go into I’m a Celebrity Get me out of Here and people may argue that you are forfeiting a life of privacy with that choice, which he agrees with to a degree but there is a line. A cruelly obtained video of Joel ‘jerking off’ (you may prefer other terms such as ‘jerking the chain’, ‘strangling the monkey’, ‘washing the carrot’, ‘humiliating the unicorn’ or worst of all ‘masterbating’) in a beanie (seriously who wears a beanie when they ‘polish the bath taps’?! I’m supposed to be the only one who wears a hat during sex. He is a hideous human being and I’m embarrassed to be attached to him.) which he thought was private is crossing that line.

“This is a new type of crime and it’s not just happening to people of below average levels of fame like Joel. Below is a link to an interesting article from the BBC about the problem and the number for the Samaritans which is a good place to start to sort it out if it has happened to you.

    Ashton Kutcher “Size doesn’t matter…”

Ashton Kutcher’s ex-girlfriend the late Brittany Murphy spoke to David Letterman about his and Demi Moore’s marriage she said, “I suppose the crux of their relationship means to him that age doesn’t matter and to her size doesn’t matter.”

She did following it up with a bunch of “kiddings”… but there’s always truth in a joke… isn’t there?

Tom Arnold not going to be penis shamed…

Tom Arnold, formerly married to Roseanne Barr was penis shamed by her after their divorce.

She revealed that he had a small pecker…  He sniped back,

“What’s small? Hell, even a 747 looks small if it lands in the Grand Canyon.”

    We call that one all.

    Jimmy Kimmel makes comparisons

Talk show host says that he compares his to other and even once said, that the vein in Tommy Lee’s penis was big than his whole dick!

    Shia LeBeouf oversharing

Shia LaBeouf over shared in an interview with Playboy in 2009.

He spoke about the time he lost his V card – and tried to put a pillow under the girl.

It put her at an awkward angle and his Johnson wouldn’t go in. He went on to say, “I’m not extremely well-endowed and clearly this wasn’t the move”

    Robert Pattinson’s implant!

Would it shock you to know that Robert Patterson used a penis implant? For his film Little Ashes, Rob said in an interview “I used a penis implant”

  • Fresh hopes for the iconic Black Cap in London

There are new hopes for the reopening of the Black Cap, the iconic gay pub and cabaret venue on Camden High Street, which closed its doors in April 2015.

Members of the Black Cap Foundation community campaign group to reopen the venue met representatives of Kicking Horse, who own the freehold of the Black Cap site. Representatives of Camden council and the GLA culture-at-risk team were also present.

All sides agreed to work together to identify a new, third-party leaseholder to reopen the Black Cap as an LGBT+ venue with cabaret performance at its heart as soon as possible.

Black Cap Foundation director Alex Green said:

“We’re thrilled at this agreement. This is a crucial step towards our goal of reopening the Black Cap, and we welcome the cooperation of the freeholders and the support of Camden council and the GLA in making that a reality.

“We’ve always believed the Black Cap’s unique, irreplaceable legacy of community and culture is worth fighting for, and can’t wait to see how it will be reinvented next.”

A spokesperson for Kicking Horse said:

“We very much hope to find the leaseholder with the right vision, experience and resources to begin a brand new chapter for this world-famous venue.”

The Black Cap has been a space for the gay community since before partial decriminalisation of homosexuality in 1967. Known as the ‘Palladium of Drag’, it has hosted residencies by groundbreaking performers such as Lily Savage, Mrs Shufflewick and Regina Fong, after whom the pub’s first-floor Shufflewick Bar and Fong Terrace are named. More recently, it was home to the Family Fierce, who showcased acts from RuPaul’s Drag Race.

Since the 2015 closure, the Black Cap Foundation has maintained a weekly Saturday afternoon vigil outside the pub, celebrating the venue’s past and sharing stories with local residents while campaigning for its reopening.

The Black Cap’s new leaseholder will take on a 25-year lease for the five-storey building at 171 Camden High Street. The site has Asset of Community Status and sui generis planning use class and requires significant capital expenditure.

  • We can tell you which gay Simpson character you are…

    So are you a Smithers?

  • Nope… There won’t be any gays on Love Island

    “The format doesn’t allow it”

So there you go… hopes, dreams dashed in a heartbeat – after ITV has “categorically ruled out” that there could be LGBT contestants on the hit show.

A producer who was that the annual Edinburgh TV festival, Elliot Gonalez tweeted the disappointing news, saying,

    https://twitter.com/elliot_gonzalez/status/900766737049800704?ref_src=twsrc%5Etfw&ref_url=http%3A%2F%2Fwww.gaytimes.co.uk%2Fculture%2F84703%2Fitv-point-blank-ruled-lgbt-contestants-love-island%2F

However, there’s no word on whether they would make a specific gay version of the show… for which there has been a lot of support for.

Love Island creator Richard Cowles said, earlier this year, that it would be “difficult” to add LGBT people to the current casting mix saying,

“You are trying to create couples,

“It’s not impossible and it is not something that we shy away from… but there is a logistical element which makes it difficult.”
