Karl Lagerfeld was undeniably one of the kings of fashion until his death in 2019, did he have a boyfriend? Was he ever married?

Karl Lagerfeld never officially came out as gay or bisexual, but was apparently in a relationship with socialite Jacques de Bascher, until Jacques’ death in 1989 from complications from AIDS. Jacques was just 38-year-old when he died.

Interestly Jacque was reportedly also involved with the fashion designer Yves Saint Laurent in 1973, during the time in which he was together with Lagerfeld.

Both Lagerfeld’s mother and Jacque are buried in a chapel which is in the grounds of a home that Lagerfeld owned, although Lagerfeld reportedly stopped going there after their deaths. He sold the home in 2000.

Karl and Jacques had a very close relationship from the early 70s and were intimate for well over a decade.

The couple were never married, same-sex marriage was illegal in France until 2013.

Rather strangely Lagerfeld did say that he once wanted to marry his cat if it were legal. The cat was named Choupette.

In the past, the designer admitted employing the services of “high-class” escorts in an interview with Vice Magazine. He also said that admired porn actors.

    Against gay marriage?

In the interview he also said he was against gay marriage saying, “I’m against it for a very simple reason: In the 60s they all said we had the right to the difference. And now, suddenly, they want a bourgeois life.

‘”When I was a child I asked my mother what homosexuality was about and she said – and this was 100 years ago in Germany and she was very open-minded – ‘It’s like hair colour. It’s nothing. Some people are blond and some people have dark hair. It’s not a subject.’ This was a very healthy attitude”.

However Lagerfeld changed his views over time and even dedicated a catway show to same-sex marriage.

Are the cast of The Birdcage still alive?

It’s been over twenty years since the hit camp comedy The Birdcage was released but what has happened to the cast now?

Where are the cast of The Birdcage now?

    Robin Williams – Armand Goldman

Sadly Robin Williams lost his life in 2014 when he took his own life. He was one of the world’s most loved actors and had a slew of box office-busting credits to his name, the majority of these were in the 90s. In total, his films have grossed over $3.2 billion in receipts, making him one of the top 20 highest grossing actors of all time. His two biggest films are Mrs Doubtfire and the Disney smash, Aladdin.

    Nathan Lane – Albert Goldman

Nathan Lane‘s first film credit is for the 1987 film, Ironweed. He worked a number of smaller roles (with the exception of his voice work on Disney’s Lion King) until The Birdcage catapulted him into the big players in Hollywood. He is known for his voice work as much as his acting becoming the voice of the much-loved Pumbaa for The Lion King, he’s also voiced the films Stuart Little and Astro Boy. More recently appeared in the Vanishing of Sidney Hall, which had a limited release in the US in early 2018.

    Dan Futterman – Val Goldman

The on-screen son of Armand and Albert went on to write the screenplay for Capote in 2005, which garnered him an Oscar for Best Motion of the year. He also starred in Will And Grace in 2003. Most recently he’s written and produced for the Amazon Prime TV show, The Looming Tower.

    Dianne West – Louise Keeley

Dianne has had a steady career since the blockbuster The Birdcage, but nothing that tops the box office numbers for the comedy. Currently, she’s in the CBS / Amazon Prime comedy, Life In Pieces. She won two Primetime Emmy Awards for her work in television.

Gene Hackman – Sen. Kevin Keeley

Gene retired from acting in 2004. Instead, he focused on writing novels. He has written three historical fiction novels: Wake of the Perdido Star (1999), Justice for None (2004) and Escape from Andersonville (2008). He also wrote Payback at Morning Peak, was released in 2011 and his most recent was Pursuit, in 2013.

    Calista Flockhart – Barbara Keely

After the Birdcage, Calista became a huge star, thanks to her playing the lead and title part of Ally McBeal in the late 90s and early noughties. She starred in 112 episodes of the juggernaut show. She then went on to star in 110 episodes of Brothers and Sisters. In terms of film, The Birdcage is by far her biggest grossing movie.

    Hank Azaria – Agador

Who can forget the amazing Agador “these shoes make me fall down” Spartacus? Hank is probably most famous for his voice work on The Simpsons. He plays Moe the bartender, Comic book guy, Superintendent Chalmers, Disco Stu, Apu, Chief Wiggum, and Doctor Nick Rivera. In total, he’s played 32 characters on the long-running cartoon. However, he does crop up in smaller roles in films and starred in the 2014 TV series – Huff, which is definitely worth a watch.

    Christine Baranski – Katherine Archer

Christine is a huge TV star in her own right. She’s appeared in hits like: Cybill, The Good Wife and now The Good Fight. In terms of films, some of her biggest hitters include, Mamma Mia! Chicago and the musical Into The Woods.

    Mike Nichols – Director

Mike died in 2014 a heart attack at the age of 83. In his long and distinguished career, he directed Who’s Afraid Of Virginia Woolf, The Graduate, Angels In America. His last film was 2007’s Charlie Wilson’s War.

  • Tab Hunter Confidential: Is Tab Hunter still alive?

Tab Hunter Confidential: Is Tab Hunter still alive?

Have you watched the Tab Hunter documentary on Netflix?

    (C) BIG STOCK

Tab Hunter Confidential is one of the many LGBT+ film available to view on Netflix and documents the life of the iconic film star Tab Hunter.

Tab Hunter was the ultimate clean-cut, all-American boy and seemingly butter would not melt in his mouth teen idol in the 1950s. He was Warner Brothers Studio’s biggest box office film star for at least three years of his tenure there. Surprisingly, we learn from the documentary, that Tab’s sexuality didn’t play a part in the ending of his Hollywood career. It was the actor’s own desire to buy himself out of his studio contract. Even though he was a dominant star, Hunter was extremely miserable with the lightweight fluffy movies that he was always having to make.

Tab Hunter Confidential is based on the memoir that Hunter penned with film historian Eddie Muller in 2005. It is a lively account of how this handsome matinee idol, with a rigid set of principles, coped with his dramatic professional and personal life. His sexuality, although hidden from the public in the early days, was no deterrent for studio mogul Jack Warner who never raised the subject. He was simply happy that Hunter was such a moneymaker for him.

    Is Tab Hunter still alive?

    Embed from Getty Images

Unfortunately Tab died at the age of 86 in July 2018.

The 1950/60’s heartthrob Tab Hunter died from heart failure. His death certificate, published by TMZ also shows that the actor was also living with prostate cancer.

According to the document, Tab Hunter died cardiogenic shock, which is where the blood can’t be pumped fast enough to deal with the body’s requirements.

    Was Tab Hunter married?

Tab Hunter was married to his husband, Allan Glaser, they married in 2013 and were together until Tab’s death in 2018.

  • Is the actor who plays Eric in Netflix’s Sex Education actually gay?

Is the actor who plays Eric in Netflix’s Sex Education actually gay?

Have you been watching the amazing new Netflix series, Sex Education – and has Ncuti Gatwa caught your eye?

Is the actor who plays Eric in Netflix's Sex Education actually gay?

Ncuti Gatwa is currently starring in the Netflix hit series, Sex Education as the openly gay character, Eric Effiong, who happens to be best friends with the main character Otis Milburn.

For Ncuti, Sex Education is his first big break into television and he’s been universally acclaimed in his character as the POC gay-best-friend.

The character that Ncuti plays is flamboyant, outgoing and not afraid to break from cisnormative behaviour, so is the actor anything like the character?

    Is Ncuti Gatwa gay?

Speaking to Paper Magazine, he said that he wished that the show had been around when he was growing up because “it’s just important to see yourself represented”.

Speaking about preparing for the role he said that he didn’t want the character of Eric to be a stereotype, he added, “We’ve seen the gay best friend caricature, and we’ve seen the black best friend caricature, and I really wanted to move away from that. Shout out to (creator) Laurie Nunn for writing such a well-rounded, fully-fleshed, gay black character, because you’re in danger of making him comedic relief. But he has such a beautiful and creative story arch in the show, so it was important to me that he wasn’t a stereotype.”

Speaking about his own sexuality he revealed that he had a “thorough sex education from Scotland” because the Scottish government had introduced LGBT+ education into their curriculums, adding, “Everybody has to learn about LGBT history.”

Is there a Season 2 of Sex Education?

Netflix recently announced that it had ordered a second season of the popular series and it is expected that many of the original cast members will return for the second instalment. Netflix made the announcement on the 1st Feb, just weeks after the show’s debut on the streaming service.

No date has been given for the start date of the second series, however, it is most likely to drop in 2020. Netflix tends to work in yearly cycles so it’s likely that the new series will be ready in January 2020.

Although Rami Malek has appeared in numerous films and TV series it is arguable that he first came to public awareness when Amazon Studios released their stunning and critically acclaimed tech drama, Mr Robot. Before that show he was pretty much unknown. However, since then his role as Freddie Mercury in the multi-award winning Queen biopic, Bohemian Rhapsody, he has been catapulted to household name status.

Is Rami Malek gay, bisexual or straight?

Rami Malek gay, bisexual or straight

Of course, it goes without saying, in this day and age, it really shouldn’t matter what an actor’s sexuality is. However, Rami doesn’t identify as gay or bisexual but remains very private about his romantic life. Previously he revealed that he tends to shun questions about his private life wishing to remain “anonymous”.

It has been reported that he is or has dated his BoRap co-star Lucy Boynton according to US Weekly magazine – with a source close to the pair saying Rami was “so into her”. The pair apparently met on the set of the Box Office breaking movie back in 2017. Lucy played Freddie’s girlfriend, Mary Austin.

He was also reported that he dated another co-star, Portia Doubleday who appeared alongside Rami in Mr Robot. According to US Weekly, the couple split in 2017.

Speaking about playing the iconic role of the bisexual Freddie Mercury Rami said that Freddie was “a gay icon and… an icon for all of us.”

    Is Rami Malek married?

As far as we know for certain, Rami Melek is not married.

What other shows has Rami Malek appeared in?

Rami has appeared in countless TV series, including Gilmore Girls, 24, The Pacific and BoJack Horseman. In terms of films, he has starred in Night At The Museum, Battleship, The Twilight Saga and Need For Speed.

Sex Education on Netflix: When is series 2 of Sex Education coming to Netflix?

Sex Education dropped on Netflix in January and fans are already looking forward to season two, but when is it likely to stream?

Sex Education is Netflix‘s popular comedy/drama about the son of a sex therapist who becomes incredibly popular at school when he starts dispensing sex advice to his classmate. The show was originally released on the platform in January and stars the likes of Gillian Anderson, Asa Butterfield and Ncuti Gatwa.

Netflix recently announced that it had ordered a second season of the popular series and it is expected that many of the original cast members will return for the second instalment. Netflix made the announcement on the 1st Feb, just weeks after the show’s debut on the streaming service.

How many episodes will the second series of Sex Education have?

The first series had eight episodes of the hit show, so the second series is likely to have the same amount of episodes, however, it’s not unexpected for Netflix to fluctuate the number of shows, with a usual minimum of eight episodes – so we could end up with a 10 or even 12 episode season of Sex Education.

Laurie wrote six of the eight episodes of the first series of Sex Education.

The episodes’ timing range from 46 minutes to 52 minutes long and all of them are available to binge on the streaming platform.
