★ ★ ★ ★ ★ | The Curious Incident Of The Dog In Night Time
Based in the incredibly successful 2003 novel by Mark Haddon, the stage play The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time has transferred from the National to the Apollo Theatre in the West End.
The play tells the story of 15-year-old schoolboy Christopher Boone and his quest to solve the mystery of who murdered a dog in his neighbourhood. During his investigation, he discovers secrets and embarks on an adventure where he is forced to leave his comfort zone and ultimately, grow from a boy into a young man.
Christopher shows signs of an unidentified “behavioural problem” with characteristics normally associated with Asperger’s syndrome or autism. Often, he struggles to communicate with those around him and his frustration can be felt throughout the play. The actor Luke Treadaway, best known for War Horse at the National, who gives Christopher a depth of character rarely seen on the stage today. I expect he is a shoe in to win an Olivier Award for his performance. By the end of the play, you forget he is an actor playing a part and it is hard to imagine Treadaway without a “behavioural problem” of his own- he is incredibly convincing and strangely attractive in the role. A friend who joined me at the theatre swooned when at one point Treadaway took off his shirt. The rest of the cast do a very good job in supporting roles, especially Nicola Walker and Paul Ritter who play his frustrated parents.Perhaps the only thing that upstages Treadaway’s performance is the incredible set design by Bunny Christie, which mirrors Christopher’s genius mind. The set lights up at various times in the play and can comfortably look like the inside of a bedsit in Willesden as it does deep space.
The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night-Time is a satisfying trip to the West End. It combines a compelling story, with a stunning set and equally inspired performances from the cast. All theatre should be this engaging.

Is Samsung’s Galaxy S4 a game changer?
Is this the iPhone Killer? Samsung unveiled its brand new smartphone the S4 yesterday in New York City.
The brand new device from Samsung offers 1080p screen – which has the ability to react to the owner’s eyes and features a universal translator and 13 megapixel camera – and voice recognition software.
The expected retail price for the the Samsung Galaxy S4 price is said to be about £480(US$725/AUD$695) SIM-free although the Galaxy SIV price is yet to be confirmed.

“Throngs of Android and Samsung fans will flock to the Galaxy S4. The only other smartphone in the industry that can command such good will is, of course, the iPhone. Even if the next iPhone enjoys only a few slight upgrades – which could be the case with a rumored iPhone 5S on the way – demand for the phone will still be sky high.
“That’s kind of how it feels with Samsung and the Galaxy S4. The company isn’t quite at the level where fans will wait in line for the phone, but the Samsung fanboys are starting to grow as vocal – if not more so – than the Apple faithful.
“At this point, the Galaxy S4 is a runaway train, something Samsung couldn’t stop even if it tried. The rest of the industry better watch out”

NEWS: Scott Mills And Nick Grimshaw Snog and Bathe (Just Not Together) For Comic Relief

Nick Grimshaw’s Breakfast show raised over £250,000 after they embarked on a morning of Red Nose Day challenges, which all started with Sara Cox, Greg James and Nick stripping off to reveal their ‘swimwear’ look, which got the show’s fundraising efforts off to a flying start raising £10,000.
Later on in the programme the team were joined by openly gay Scott Mills, who was made to don a pair of roller skates and told he would be randomly pushed into three masked celebrities. Whichever person he bumped into he would have to kiss – “with full on tongue.”
The three celebrities were revealed as Olympian Louis Smith, Vanessa Feltz and Union J’s Josh. Scott landed on Vanessa and the two enjoyed a lingering kiss, which Mills described as ‘soft and tender’.
It was only after the snogging that the challenges became harder as Grimmy was told by Domino singer Jessie J that he would have to face his worst fear and bathe with over 2 million mealworms, if they raised £120,000, which of course they did.
Grimmy screamed and whined throughout saying: ‘Ooh. It’s horrible! They stink. They absolutely stink. They’re biting my ankles.’
He added: ‘You have to text now. Text the word HELP now to 70005. They are all over me. It’s horrible.’
Nick will now have to dye his famously massive brown hair style to a fabulous shade of pink, after he vowed he’d make the startling change if the breakfast team fundraised £250,000. The listeners of Radio 1 were clearly backing the makeover idea. By the time the show came off air, the team had hit their target.
The team tweeted: ‘we’ve raised a quarter of a million pounds – thank you so much from everyone here at @R1Breakfast and @bbcr1 we love you! #RedNoseBreakfast.’

COMMENT | Vatican Department Sleeping Above Gay Sauna
Whilst the cardinals are all gathered to deliberate and appoint the next Pope, you could ponder what they all do in the evenings for entertainment?
Well one Vatican department it seems has been sharing a Rome palazzo with one of Italy’s top gay saunas, the EMC (Europa Multiclub). This may just be a coincidence and I’m sure the Vatican didn’t realise they were spending £17.5m on 20 apartments for the Congregation for the Evangelisation of Peoples in the same building as a gay sauna.
The sauna hosts many features such as whirlpools, Finnish saunas, Turkish baths and massages. Just what you need after a hard day’s work.
How many days did it take to elect the last pope? Just saying.
