She’s the fearless know-it-all from the game show, The Chase, but it seems as though she’s got a lot of female admirers. So is Anne a lesbian or bisexual?
The Chase star is often chased after by women on social media, but she has to let them down gently. Anne isn’t or doesn’t identify as a lesbian.
Anne Hegerty, also known as the Governess on the game show, The Chase, might just be the runaway success in this year’s I’m A Celeb, but who is she and more importantly people want to know if she’s dating anyone or married. The fearless, 60-year-old, it seems, gets a lot of attention from other women on social media.
Is Anne Hegerty gay or a lesbian?
No, Anne does not identify as a lesbian. In fact she’s quipped that people think that she is, but she isn’t, but that doesn’t stop other lesbians from chatting her up. However Anne takes it all in her stride and tells the women that their “gaydar” is broken and that she’s very “flattered”.
She said, “The awkward thing is I do quite often get lots of flirty Twitter messages from women.
“I have to say to them I’m very flattered, but at the same time your gaydar is broken.
“Quite often they say yes I didn’t think you were, just thought I’d try my luck.”
The Chase superstar star takes her icon status with grace saying, “It’s nice to be a gay icon and a lesbian icon.
Is Anne Hegerty married?

Emily Atack has climbed to the top of Betway’s I’m A Celebrity outright winner market after just her first night in the jungle.
Immediately the centre of attention after sky-diving into camp before being named as this year’s first to face a Bushtucker Trial, Atack is now the leading online bookmaker’s 11/4 favourite having been as big as 11/2 before Sunday night.
Pre-show fancy James McVey has gone cold in the betting and is out to 8/1 from 9/2, while X Factor finalist Fleur East has impressed early on and has been cut to 13/2 from 12/1.
Betway’s Alan Alger said, “After the first night in the jungle, punters are beginning to strongly side with Emily Atack and she’s now our new 11/4 favourite to go all the way. She featured heavily in the opening show and faces the first Bushtucker Trial, so on entertainment value alone she’s made a fast start.
“Fleur East has been backed into 13/2 from 12/1 after a busy opening show, while James McVey, a big early fancy at 9/2, failed to get much air-time and has been pushed out to 8/1.”
James McVey is in the jungle, but is he dating anyone and what is he most famous for?
Twenty-four-year-old James McVey is the guitarist for the band, The Vamps. The band has been together since 2011, when he met his fellow bandmates on YouTube and Facebook.
Together the band has amassed five top 10 singles and their last album, Night and Day reached number one in the charts. James himself is the third most popular member of the group on social media with nearly 1.8 million followers on Twitter. His bandmate Connor Ball is the most popular with over 2 million followers.
Nope, James McVey has never identified as gay or bisexual and is currently in a relationship with his girlfriend, 22-year-old Kirstie Brittain, who is a model. The pair started dating at the end of 2014. They split but later reunited. Prior to Kirstie, James was romantically linked to Game of Thrones actor, Sophie Turner. However, the pair had an acrimonious split on Twitter in July 2014.
No, not yet at least. James is currently dating his model girlfriend, 22-year-old Kirstie Brittain. They’ve been together since late 2014, but there’s been no talk of marriage or engagement, yet.

JLS singer and Strictly Come Dancing participant Aston Merrygold is Betway’s red hot 5/2 favourite to replace Jack Maynard in the I’m A Celebrity jungle.
The Vlogger sensationally left the ITV show last night following allegations made against him, and having suffered a surprise early exit from Strictly Come Dancing last month, the leading online bookmaker thinks Merrygold could now be heading to the jungle as Maynard’s replacement.
Geordie Shore star turned TV presenter Charlotte Crosby has long been linked with an I’m a Celebrity appearance and she can be backed at 11/2 to replace Maynard.
Further down the list of Betway odds, singer Conor Maynard is 8/1 to join his younger brother’s former campmates in the coming days, while reality TV queen Gemma Collins is the same price to return to the jungle.
Betway’s Alan Alger, said: “Aston Merrygold certainly has unfinished business on celebrity TV shows after his shock eviction from Strictly earlier this month and he’s been backed at 5/2 to replace the axed Maynard in the jungle.
“I’m a Celeb producers will be scrambling for a replacement after losing Maynard so early on and a host of names have been mentioned. Gemma Collins, who so famously left the show after 72 hours, leads the pack of 8/1 fancies, with Karl Pilkington and Conor Maynard the same price.
“Meanwhile, Philip Hammond is a long shot at 100/1 to switch Budget briefings for bushtucker trials in the coming days.
Following on from homophobic and racist tweets found on Jack Maynard’s Twitter timelines, he has left the jungle.
The YouTuber, Jack Maynard has come under fire after a series of homophobic and racist tweets were discovered on his Twitter timeline. The tweets included the use of the “n-word”, which were used to describe a friend and “faggots” which was used as a
The term “retard” was also used as an insult towards people.
The tweets, which were uncovered by The Sun, date back up to six years. He was a teenager at the time of publishing these tweets.
Following news of his removal, an ITV spokesperson said, “Due to circumstances outside camp Jack has had to withdraw from the show.”
According to this unofficial, I’m A Celeb Twitter account, his management released a statement explaining the decision for Jack to leave the show.
“In the last few days Jack Maynard has been the subject of a succession of media stories which, given his position as a contestant on I’m a Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here! – filmed in the Australian jungle, with no contact with the outside world, he has been unable to respond to.
“Since it is only fair that everyone should be aware of any allegations made against them and should also have the right to defend themselves, it was agreed that it would be better to bring him out of the show.”
In his Jungle trial, boxing champ, Amir Khan, shouted those infamous words “I’m a celebrity get me out of here”.
It didn’t take long for the homophobes on social media to start hurling slurs at the boxer.
Amir Khan is the first celebrity to utter the phrase, “I’m a celebrity get me out of here,” in a long time after facing his darkest fears, snakes.
In the task, which was broadcast on last night’s episode, he had to put his hand into a number of holes filled with crabs, creepy crawlies and snakes. After minutes of trying and failing to even get his hand into any of the holes, he plunged his arm into one, only to pull out a live snake, proving too much for the star. Moments later he yelled those infamous words.
Some fans of the show, however, equated his failure to being gay and hurled homophobic slurs, such as “faggot”, “batty” and “queer” at the 30-year-old boxer.
Anti-gay trolls
amir kahn thought i was having a heart attack. you have to have a heart. first u fucking wimp. #faggot#bottlejob
So tonight we’ve established that Amir is a faggot and a young chealsa girl braver (doing it for the girls) and that Stanley and jack are officially dueting on a vlog #ImACeleb
After panicking during his I’m A Celeb trial, Boxing Champ, Amir Khan uttered those infamous words – and the task was over. Fans, however, were not impressed.
Whilst others couldn’t help but call him a “faggot”
Others opted to call Amir, “queer”
Bravery has nothing to do with sexuality.
Jake Hook, Editor of THEGAYUK.com said, “It’s truly disappointing that in 2017 people on social media still equate being gay with being fearful, weak or somehow inferior. This kind of bullying and trolling just further embeds the notion that being LGBT+ is less than and weak and it has to stop. Some of the bravest, most powerful people in the world are members of the LGBT+ community – some of whom have faced worse than snakes in a pit. Bravery has nothing to do with sexuality.
“Amir Khan’s inability to complete a task has nothing to do with his sexuality – but more to do with the fact that he’s scared of snakes.”
I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here continues tonight on ITV 1
