In actual fact, it is quite fun and easy to live with. It’s quite spirited when you need it to be or calm.

WHAT IS IT? | DRIVING IT | CLIMB INSIDE | LIVING WITH IT | VERDICT

The interior is a bit stark for my liking except for a bit of houndstooth fabric inserted into the seats and doors. For a vehicle aimed at such a vibrant enthusiastic market, I am always alarmed to see such vast swathes of black being used. It has tokens of colour here and there but just not enough of them. This is only amplified when you look outside the car and see the colourful trinkets Citroën bestow on it around the mirrors and lights. Even the glass on the C-pillars has some funkiness going on.

That said it is a comfortable place to sit and the depth of the dashboard isn’t as imposing as you think it could be. For tall drivers at least that is. Sit down lower and it the edge of the screen vanishes.
