  • Keiynan Lonsdale takes off all his clothes to promote body positivity

The Love, Simon actor post a picture of himself starkers asking, “why is it deemed wrong to not wear clothes?”

    (C) Keiynan Lonsdale / INSTAGRAM

Out actor Keiynan Lonsdale, 26, has posted a naked picture of himself asking why we are taught that being naked is wrong. Despite saying that he wasn’t confident being naked, he stated, “each of us is made to feel incorrect inside our own physical form”.

In the post captioned,  “Dance naked, lose followers, gain leaders” he wrote,

“***P.s. why is it deemed wrong to not wear clothes? We’ve been taught poorly, & groomed to hold shame for ourselves, our human bodies.

“No matter what we look like, each of us is made to feel incorrect inside our own physical form, told that in order to survive & be a functioning, liked, & well respected person in society, we should hide this form from the world.

“That shit sounds whack to me. Now, I’m not at all at the confidence level to be neked in public lol, maybe one day i hope, but I’m sure as hell working on sharing & showing off my body to myself.. and it feels good.”

QI host Sandi Toksvig reveals huge pay gap between her and Stephen Fry

The first female host of QI has revealed a massive pay gap between her fee and that of the previous host Stephen Fry.

Sandi Toksvig has revealed that she is paid just 40 percent of the fee that Stephen Fry commanded for her QI hosting gig. Speaking at the Women’s Equality Party conference, Sandi revealed that she puts up with the pay gap because she is the first female of the long-running BBC show.

However, Sandi is paid the same amount as another male presenter, Alan Davies.

Sandi, who is 60 this year, took over presenting QI from Stephen Fry in 2015.

    (C) BIGSTOCK

Speaking about the pay difference, she said, “I have recently discovered I get 40% of what Stephen used to get. And I get the same pay as (permanent panellist) Alan Davies, who is not the host.

“I temper this with the fact that I love the show and I’m the first woman to host such a show.”

Later, she added, “I love QI and the brilliant team who produce it. John Lloyd and the (production) team champion women on the show.”

However, some fans of the show were quick to point out that the pay gap could be because of the stars’ respective profile. For instance on Twitter, Stephen Fry has over 12.8 million followers, while Sandi has just 157,000. However, Sandi is also now heading up the very high profile presenting job on Channel 4’s Great British Bake Off, which makes her one of TV’s most sought-after presenters.

According to the BBC, producers Fremantle Media have made no comment on the difference.

  • HIV Infections in gay and bi men plummet by 31 percent since 2015

HIV Infections in gay and bi men plummet by 31 percent since 2015

New figures, published by Public Health England (PHE), show a 17% decrease in HIV diagnoses in the UK in 2017 and a drop of more than a quarter in the last two years (28%).

    CREDIT: tashatuvango-bigstock

However, the new statistics also show that 42% of people with HIV were still being diagnosed late; with heterosexual men and individuals aged 65 and over the most likely to experience late diagnosis.

HIV diagnoses in gay and bisexual men have dropped by 31% since 2015 and this decline is particularly focused in parts of London. This represents one of the most significant advances in HIV prevention since the beginning of the epidemic, but now we need to ensure we see the same declines in other groups.

Ian Green, Chief Executive at Terrence Higgins Trust, said, “Today’s drop in new HIV diagnoses among some communities in the UK clearly shows we have the tools to end the HIV epidemic in this country. But, rather than patting ourselves on the back, we need to redouble our efforts, work harder and get to zero HIV transmissions.

“There is continued progress among some gay and bisexual men, particularly in London, with a 31% fall since 2015. This follows on from last year’s numbers where we saw the first ever decline in new diagnoses among gay and bisexual men.

“This turnaround in one of the groups most affected by HIV shows what can be achieved by utilising everything we’ve got in the fight against HIV. That includes the widespread availability of condoms, a range of ways and places to test for HIV, early diagnosis and access to treatment, and increasing the availability of HIV prevention pill PrEP. It also shows that initiatives like National HIV Testing Week are working.

“But we need to work harder and look more broadly to make sure the decline in new diagnoses reaches other groups affected by HIV in all corners of the UK – not just in London and the South East.

“For example, rates of late diagnosis remain worryingly high with 42% of all those diagnosed being diagnosed late, which is after the immune system has already been damaged. Among black African heterosexual men rates of late diagnosis are now 72% while in those 65 and over it’s 60%, which is unacceptably high.

“For the first time, there has been a drop in the number of diagnoses reported among heterosexuals not from black African or black Caribbean communities with a fall of 20%. This is welcome news but more needs to be done to understand what’s behind this decline and lessons learned to ensure the number of new diagnoses continues to fall.

“We welcome the inclusion of women only data tables for the very first time. But while around a quarter of new diagnoses continue to be among women, more needs to be done to ensure women are invisible no longer when it comes to HIV and properly included in HIV prevention campaigns. Similarly, this year we also have trans-specific data for the first time, which is so important in ensuring we have an accurate picture of how this group is impacted by HIV.

“We must also ensure Relationships and Sex Education has a strong emphasis on sexual health and HIV when it becomes compulsory in schools in England from 2020. Currently, more than one young person a day is diagnosed with HIV in the UK and that’s one too many. We have the tools to prevent HIV but we need to ensure our young people know what they are and how to access them.”

On the reason for this continued decline, Ian Green added, “HIV treatment has undoubtedly played a significant role in this decline. Now, when someone is diagnosed, they are encouraged to start treatment as soon as possible. This enables them to more quickly achieve an undetectable viral load, which means HIV can’t be passed on.

“Testing options have also improved in recent years and now HIV self test kits, where you test at home and get a result within 15 minutes, are sold on the high street. We’re also offering these tests for free to people from the communities most affected by HIV. But testing at home isn’t for everyone and it is vital we have fully funded and easily accessible sexual health services for those who want or need a face to face service.

“PrEP is a game changer for HIV prevention and almost 100 per cent effective when taken as prescribed. PrEP’s portrayal in the media means it is all too often seen as something only for gay men – but that certainly isn’t the case and we need to ensure it is fully utilised by all groups affected by HIV, including both black African people and trans communities.

“Although PrEP is available on the NHS in Scotland and via an uncapped pilot in Wales, it is only available in England as part of a 10,000 place trial and we know that many sites have filled all their places for gay men and are having to turn people at risk of HIV away. In light of today’s data, we’re continuing to strongly call on NHS England to play its part in getting to zero HIV transmissions by making PrEP available to all who need it on the NHS in England.”

  • How to avoid toxic masculinity at the gym

How to avoid toxic masculinity at the gym

Don’t let toxic masc bros stop you from getting fit.

    CREDIT: bigstock-sorali

The toxic masculinity mentality is so outdated it makes me want to puke. However, the gym is one of those places that both attracts bros and then further encourages bro-behaviour. So no matter where you train, from the plushest health club to the most bare-bones 24-hour gym, you’ll encounter these assholes at one point or another. Wearing their backwards caps and shouting at their bros to smash out another rep.

It’s enough to deter any gay man, woman, or newcomer from ever daring to set foot in the free weights section. To that, we say FUCK NO! The time has come to take a stand against this crap, so here are a few things you can do to combat toxic masculinity in your gym.

    1. Be gay!

    via GIPHY

Well done, you’ve already accomplished this one. So if you’re gay then don’t be afraid to act it. You don’t have to hide your camp-ness at home, with friends, or at work, and you shouldn’t suddenly have to in the gym.

Listen to your Lady Gaga full volume, wear unicorn leggings, go to Jazzercise, and just be yourself. This isn’t high school gym class anymore.

    2. Train with a girl-friend

    via GIPHY

Work to dispel the bullshit male/female divide in gyms and get training with your girl friends. Get them into the weights section and help them feel confident doing pull ups and bench pressing with barbells. Then hop on the elliptical with them and do your cardio. There are no “male exercises” and no “female exercises”, just different training goals.

Women and men can both work to be stronger and fitter, side by side. #gayfitness [Tweet this if you agree!]

    3. Get strong

    CREDIT: Dean-Drobot-bigstock

If there is a homophobic piece of shit in the gym, then the best way to show this toxic creep that he’s outdated and obsolete is to get strong. Focus on good form and consistency and you’ll progress in your training far quicker than a loud-mouthed bro who’s just looking to slam some weights around. Just watch him try and call you a sissy when you’re benching what he squats.

    1. Don’t become a jerk
    calibra / Pixabay

When you do get stronger, don’t fall into the trap of becoming a bro yourself. Yes, you’re strong, you know what you’re doing, and you look great, but don’t start acting like the world owes something because you’re buff now.

Take your training seriously, but don’t take yourself seriously.

    5. Don’t be afraid to ask for help

    CREDIT: Flynt-bigstock

Whether you’re new to this whole gym thing or you’ve been training for years, don’t ever be afraid to ask for help. If you need a spot or you’re unsure, ask someone for help. If they’re not busy or mid-set, then they’ll probably be happy to help.

No one knows everything, and only toxic assholes act like they do.

  • THE UNDATEABLE GAY | Premature Ejaculations

THE UNDATEABLE GAY | Premature Ejaculations

SO. In case anyone has forgotten, I’ve already been on two dates with my lovely blokey from my speed dating success story. And we’ve just had our third. I keep thinking that any moment, someone is going to slap me and wake me up from my dream. I mean, not that I’ve got a fetish for being slapped or anything.

Three dates done and dusted. That’s some kind of record for this gay boy, this undateable gay. I’m expecting a knock on my door from The Guinness Book of Records any minute now.

I decided that this was the right time to introduce him to my mother. So I arranged an afternoon tea with plenty of cakes. People who know me well know that my biggest weakness, besides men, is cakes. Give me a Belgian bun and I’m like a pig in shit. Happy for hours.

KNOCK, KNOCK. That was us knocking on the door, by the way, arriving at my mum and dad’s house. They actually have a doorbell so I don’t know why I wrote knock, knock. It should have been DING DONG. Digressing…. anyway, you get the gist, we had arrived for afternoon tea.

As my mother answered the door, I could see her eyes light up at how handsome Paul was. She was acting like a bloody magpie seeing a glitter ball. You could see the pride in her eyes that her gay son had bagged himself a bit of a fitty. Although now I come to think about it, I don’t like quite how shocked she seemed to be at me managing to bag myself such a handsome man. I must talk to her about that a later date. Note to self.

I made the necessary introductions and Paul took my mother’s hand and kissed it.

    “Nice to meet you!”

Now for anyone who knows my mother, will know that she fills up and cries at the drop of a hat, at the slightest thing she wells up.

I’ve witnessed my mum cry at X Factor, Loose Women and even Homes under the Hammer. And this is exactly what I witnessed now. Obviously, Paul’s good manners were too much for her and she felt overwhelmed. My god, I didn’t know where to look. Although I was looking around for a hanky.

Once she’d pulled herself together and I’d given her a slap to stop her crying. (That’s a joke, before anyone reports me to the police. I don’t actually beat up my mother.) She finally poured the coffee and offered around her freshly made cherry macaroons.

My mummy is a bit of a Mary Berry when it comes to baking. She’s always got tins upon tins of cakes ready for visitors.

Paul made a very good impression that afternoon and I could definitely tell that my mum approved. In fact, I’d known she’d approved from the moment she broke down in tears after the kiss on the hand.

As we left and walked to the car, I turned and gave Paul a kiss of my own. I planted a great big smacker on his lips.

“What was that for?” He gushed.

MASSIVE GREAT BIG STRENGTH SIX MATURE CHEDDAR CHEESE ALERT

“Just for being you,” I replied.

Now, this next part may make some people call me a slut. What they call slut, I call enjoying the male species. I think it’s very important to try a few different platters from the buffet table, else how do you know what you like?

Anyway, I digress once again. The point I was getting to was that, here we were, three dates in and we still hadn’t enjoyed any kind of sexual relations. (No Bill Clinton jokes here please)

So to solve this dilemma, I asked him back to mine and before you could say blow job, I had him on my bed and were enjoying a very passionate kiss. Fully clothed, may I add.

As I went to undo his trousers to rip them off, he grabbed my hand to stop me. I looked up, shocked, like a rabbit in headlights.

“Before you go there, there’s something I need to tell you.”

Well, talk about mind racing into overdrive moment. My mind filled with all sorts of visions and scenarios. After a silence of what felt like days, I pleaded.

    “What? What is it Paul?”

“I’ve got a really small willy.”

Phew. My mind slowed down and stopped racing. I looked up to the sky, thankful I wasn’t about to unzip a pair of trousers and reveal a vagina. A small willy I can cope with. A vagina, I cannot.

Now, for people who know me very well, will realise a small willy will never put me off. One, because I’m not a shallow, size Queen. And two, the good Lord did not bless me downstairs either.

In fact, a man once told me that he could use my penis as dental floss. (Bastard) But that’s another story for another day.

To prove to Paul that the small willy revelation had not killed the passion, I continued in my quest and unzipped his trousers. And as I did, I got the most almighty surprise.

To prove to Paul that the small willy revelation had not killed the passion, I continued in my quest and unzipped his trousers. And as I did, I got the most almighty surprise.

An eyeful of cum. As I blinked to remove the foreign object from my eye, his face turned a beautiful shade of Lobster.

“You just turn me on so much.”

My one eye, the one not sealed shut with his natural adhesive, widened.

“Clearly. I mean, I know I’m good”, I gushed, “But I hardly even touched you yet.”

“I LOVE YOU!” He suddenly blurted out.

I sat back on the bed, still temporarily blinded in one eye.

    “You what?” I was aghast.

Before anyone calls me a silly poof for my actions,  can I just point out that the three dates had all taken place within a ten-day time frame.

“How can you love me? You barely know me.”

“I can’t help the way I’ve fallen for you.”

Call me mental. Call me mad. Call me destined to be undateable for a whole lifetime. But I just couldn’t truly believe that someone could fall in love that quickly. And genuinely mean it. So I asked him to leave.

  • Gay and bi guys who are lonely are most likely to have bareback sex

Gay and bi guys who are lonely are most likely to have bareback sex

Gay, bi and queer men are 67 percent more likely to have unprotected anal sex.

    Madeinitaly / Pixabay

A recent study from China has found that lonely gay men are most likely to have condomless sex. Of the 507 men that took part in the study, those “who reported feeling lonely were more likely to have had condomless receptive anal intercourse in the past 6 months.”

The same men also said that they felt “hopeless for the future” and reports of higher levels of internalised homophobia.

The study showed that gay and bi men in China are suffering from high rates of depression and loneliness, of the 507 who took part, 26.8 and 35.5% reported moderate-to-severe symptoms of depression and feeling lonely, respectively. Despite homosexuality not being illegal in China LGBT people are subject to severe societal pressures.

The aim of the study was to help demonstrate that gay/bi and queer men with negative mental health in high-income countries were at risk of HIV infection. “We sought to describe depression and loneliness and identify their correlates among Chinese MSM”.

Without protection, like condoms or access to PrEP, men who have bareback sex are more at risk of contracting HIV than those who use condoms or who are on PrEP and who test regularly.

Chances of passing on HIV are Zero if you’re on effective treatment

A recent study found that there is ZERO chance of passing on HIV if an infected partner was on effective treatment.

The PARTNER 2 study results found no cases of HIV transmission between men when one partner had HIV but was on effective treatment. This finding offers further confirmation that an undetectable viral load prevents sexual transmission of HIV. This understanding is frequently expressed as Undetectable equals Untransmittable, or U=U.

The 14-country study found no transmissions between gay couples where the HIV-positive partner had a viral load under 200 – even though there were nearly 77,000 acts of condomless sex between them.

    China’s LGBT rights

China has a chequered history in LGBT rights – same-sex sexual activity has only been legal since 1997, whilst the country does not recognise gay relationships or marriages. Same-sex couples are not permitted to adopt and there is no legal statute to protect gays from discrimination. However, trans people are legally permitted to change their legal gender.

Homosexuality was removed from the Ministry Of Health’s list of mental illnesses in 2001.

Transgender TV stars: “Terfs are obsessed fans of the trans community”

Producers from the Amazon Prime show, Fish Tank have called out gender critical feminists for being “secretly obsessed fans of the trans community”.

    Transgender Flag

Recently Katie Hopkins aligned herself with the #StickerWoman campaign. #StickerWoman is a hashtag which has been linked to stickers, which are shaped like a penis, which have been found in various UK cities which state, “Women Don’t Have Penises”. The campaign follows on from Get The L Out which threatened to derail the start of the parade at Pride In London in July.

Now the producers of the Amazon Prime show, Fish Tank – the first to feature two trans women stars have hit back saying that “TERFs are just secretly obsessed fans of the trans community”.

Creator, director and producer, Brandon Smithson, and star and producer, Arisce Wanzer believes that the message Katie Hopkins, Trans Exclusionary Radical Feminists and #GetTheLOut are promoting is a “disgusting outright attack on the trans community”.

Speaking to THEGAYUK.com Brandon Smithson said,“It’s wrong for these groups and for people to reduce trans people to their genitalia”

“The stickers designed to specifically create a visceral reaction with the hopes to make people associate the disgusted feeling with trans people but instead it is making people see this group in a repulsive light.”

Arisce Wanzer, a transwoman herself, believes that, “it is really sad that Katie Hopkins and these groups have to put other people down to left themselves up.”

    Not looking at scientific facts

She continues by noting that “recent studies by the University of Liege found that the brains of transgender people resemble brains of the sex they align with rather than their assigned sex at birth. So these people and groups are clearly not looking at any scientific facts and are instead just trying to get a rise out of people”.

Both Smithson and Wanzer believe that if more people took the time to get to know those who identify as transgender, many of these false beliefs and ignorant opinions would be dispelled. They hope that their comedy series will open a dialogue for those that do not get the chance to interact with a trans person, and normalise trans people in a light-hearted, fun way.

Fish Tank follows the dating lives of two trans women in LA as they deal with inattentive boyfriends, dating apps, vulnerability, stereotyping and creeps.

The series is available in the UK on Amazon Prime and boast a strong cast of transgender actors playing trans and cis-gender roles.
