  • Joel Dommett’s public support for winning is unprecedented

Relative newbie, Joel Dommett has certainly made an impression on I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here, especially after he stripped off to reveal, well a rather dishy bod!

Although he’s relatively unknown, standup comedian and actor Joel Dommett has certainly captured the public’s interest / or lust after revealing his finely toned body in last night’s episode of I’m A Celebrity Get Me Out Of Here.

According to Betway Joel’s odds of winning have shortened from 14/1 to 7/2.

A spokesperson for the Bookie said,

“There’s been a massive market move for Joel Dommett after Sunday night’s opening episode. The Skins star’s odds plummeted from 14/1 into 7/2 straight after he revealed his torso in the Jungle’s shower.

“The shortening of Dommett’s odds is the most drastic I can remember in I’m A Celebrity history!

“Scarlett Moffatt looks a shaky favourite now. We’ve pushed her out from 7/4 to 5/2 and that price could slip further if she fails to grab the public’s attention.”

So what did people get into a lather about?

    Well, check out this:

Meanwhile, thousands of people flooded THEGAYUK.com last night in an attempt to find out whether Joel is gay or bisexual after he flirted with soap star Adam Thomas.

Gay marriage “fine” by Donald Trump

Donald Trump has said that the gay marriage laws in the US are “fine” and “done”.

CREDIT: By Michael Vadon [CC BY-SA 2.0 (http://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-sa/2.0)], via Wikimedia CommonsFollowing last week’s shock US Presidental election result in which Donald Trump was made President-elect, many gay rights activists have raised concerned that the same-sex marriage law, which was enacted in 2015 would be repeal.

Concern was sparked when Trump said that he would “consider” the repeal of the legislation during an interview with Fox News during his presidential campaign.

However, seeming to calm some concerns, the President-elect said during his CBS 60 Minutes interview, that gay marriage was “fine” with him and the courts had decided to rule in favour of same-sex marriage and it was “done”.

    He said,

“it’s done,” adding “these cases have gone to the Supreme Court, they’ve been decided. And I’m fine with that,” adding that his views on the subject are “irrelevant.”

Trump has in the past said that he does not believe that gay people should be discriminated against, but that he was against gay marriage.

Detectives from Westminster Borough have released footage of a man they would like to speak to in connection with a homophobic incident in Charing Cross close to the Heaven nightclub. The incident took place on August 13th and footage from the rant has just been made available to the public with cops asking the public for information to find the suspect after no arrests have been made.

Police were called at 02.00am on August 13th after the two men were subjected to anti-gay slurs.

The two men -aged 28 and 26- walked down the street holding hands they were approached by a man who shouted homophobic abuse at them. The man continued to shout at the victims as they walked west along Jubilee footbridge towards Lambeth.

One of the victims was able to record the suspect on his mobile phone.

The suspect is described as white, slim and in his early 30s. He was wearing a black top, dark hooded jumper, jeans and trainers.

Police Constable Emma Rogers, from Westminster CID, said,

He finished in sixth place, a week before Danyl Johnson. Since leaving the X Factor he’s been busy gigging across the UK, playing at various gay prides and also been a cover star of a gay magazine.

J.B. Priestley’s 1940s play An Inspector Calls had languished somewhat until Stephen Daldry’s (The Crown, Billy Elliot, The Hours) landmark 1992 production.

The piece was much loved by amateur dramatic societies and small regional theatres, in part due to its seven-person cast and one room staging. Daldry’s revival, almost 25 years ago, at The National Theatre, gave the play a fresh lease of life with a radical new staging and a dramatic set design by Ian MacNeil. Now restaged again in London at The Playhouse Theatre, after long-running regional tours, this stylish and evocative revival is still feeling as fresh and pertinent as it did in the 90s.

In 1912 the wealthy upper middle-class Birling family are celebrating their daughter’s engagement to the son of a prominent family. The evening in their dining room in Bromley is interrupted by the arrival of Inspector Goole who tells them of the death of a young woman by a particularly gruesome suicide. The family are at first irked by the intrusion on their celebrations but gradually come to see that they each had a role in bringing about the woman’s downfall.

The stage is dominated by a giant dolls’ house raised high above the stage. This has to be one of the most breathtaking stagings of the last few decades. To describe the workings of the set would ruin the surprises but needless to say, it’s a clever design that enhances and doesn’t swamp the play’s message. Even though the smaller stage of The Playhouse feels a little cramped for the production, it’s still powerful and atmospheric. The cast are strong, and special mention must go to the excellent Barbara Marten as the monstrous Sybil. She imbues a touch of high camp without detracting from the horror of her snobbish coldness.

Can a revival of a play from seventy years ago, about a family from a hundred years ago still speak to today’s audiences? The answer is a resounding yes. The theme is self-interest, prejudice and how people use others weaker than them to get ahead. With recent world events and the scary rise of far right wing politicians, it couldn’t feel fresher. Or more chilling.

  • ISIS execute a “gay” man by throwing him face first from silo

In an unconfirmed report, ISIS has thrown a man to his death for being gay in north-west Iraq.

WARNING: There are images in this article which some readers may find distressing.

A “gay” man has been executed by ISIS fighters by throwing him face first from a grain silo in Iraq. TerrorMonitor and the Jihad Threat Monitor  have released pictures which show a man, with his hands bound behind his back falling from the top of a silo.

In the first picture, the victim is seen surrounded by a number of men, with one standing to the right, filming the whole ordeal. In the second sickening picture, the man is seen with his hands tied behind his back, plummeting towards the ground.

It is not clear from the pictures when the execution was undertaken, however executing men accused of being gay is a somewhat common occurrence in ISIS strongholds.

The usual method of execution preferred by ISIS fighters, for the crime of homosexuality, is to be thrown from a high building or being stoned to death.

Under Sharia law homosexuality is a crime punishable by death.

  • George Shelley just did the #ChristmasTreeChallenge and we’re confused

So George Shelley just completed the Christmas Tree Challenge, and we’re confused AF. I mean why?

So if you’re wondering what the Christmas Tree Challenge is, basically you jump through the device that wraps up your Christmas tree into a neatly netted bundle so you can fit it in your car, by stopping the branches from spreading.

In this “challenge” you end up being completely covered up by that plastic netting.

George, we have three fundamental issues with your Christmas Tree Challenge.

    1. It’s a bit of a waste of plastic
    2. It’s a bit of a waste of plastic
    3. It’s a bit of a waste of plastic

I know we sound like killjoys, but we’re entirely sure that netting can be used again once it’s come off the reel.

To be honest, we hope this one challenge doesn’t catch on, unlike the Ice Bucket challenge which we could totally get behind, especially when the likes of Steve Grand took part.
