  • Brittas Empire gay couple: We’d still be together after 20 years!

    It’s 20 years since The Brittas Empire was on our screens.

    You may remember the classic BBC comedy, The Brittas Empire – well the actors who played the gay couple, Tim and Gavin, say they’d still be together after all these years.

    At the time, Tim and Gavin were the first openly same-sex couple to ever appear in a British comedy on the BBC, and according to the actor who played Tim, Russell Porter, they’d still be together now and married. But they wouldn’t have had the reception at the infamous Whitbury Leisure Centre, “too many things could have gone wrong, it would have burnt down or blown up, or something” Russell joked.

    Tim Marriott (Gavin) and Russell Porter (Tim) reunited after 20 years since the Brittas Empire’s final show.

    Speaking to THEGAYUK.com Russell said,

    “I think they would have been married by now…

    “At the time, I didn’t get the sense of how important it would be, as a gay man myself, I wanted to, as much as you can in farce, be fair to the characters. It wasn’t the gay thing that was the issue, it was the not understanding the gay issue – and that’s the gag. When auditioning (for the part) I said, ‘don’t ask me to be anymore fay or camp than I am already, I’m not going to go down that route’.

    “They (Gavin and Tim) are just two people – and it’s just another thing for (Gordon) Brittas to get wrong.

    “It’s only in passing introspect that I realise how important the characters were. The joke wasn’t mincing or those type of stereotypes, it was actually something else.

    “There were times in the early 90s and 00’s where people would come up to me and say ‘it was important for me to see your character’ (on mainstream TV)  and that’s genuinely moving.

    Reunited… Chris Barrie and the Whitbury New Town Leisure Centre crew reunited… 20 years on.

    The cast was reunited yesterday at the original leisure centre, which is actually based in Ringwood, near Bournemouth, to celebrate the 20 years since the last episode was screened and the renovation of the Ringwood leisure centre.

  • Milo Yiannopoulos marries black boyfriend and declares himself ‘worst white supremacist ever’

    The ever controversial Milo Yiannopoulos has called himself the ‘worst white supremacist ever’ after marrying his partner.

    Milo just married his boyfriend, John,  in Hawaii over the weekend and in response to his detractors, some who have called the controversialist a white supremacist in the past, blasted his critics saying he must be the worst white supremacist… ever. Posting about his wedding on Instagram, Milo was at pains to reveal his new husband’s identity by obscuring his face or revealing his surname in pictures he published.

    The reception took place at the Four Seasons Resort Hualalai on Saturday.

    His now, husband wore a white jacket, which had “Blind For Love” inscribed on the back, whilst Milo wore, in typical camp flamboyance, a floral print Gucci jacket.

    The journalist and former Breitbart staffer uploaded a picture of his wedding cake topper and captioned the photo “It’s official”.

    Milo then captioned a post as “WORST WHITE SUPREMACIST EVER” after the Daily Mail released a story about the writer captioned, “alt-right poster boy”.

    Most lied about person in the US.

    Furthering the conversation about his private and public life, Milo went on to suggest that he must “be the most lied-about person in America”, calling reports about him marrying a Muslim man an “utter fabrication”.

    He said,

    “I must be the most lied-about person in America. Every day it’s something new. This week the press has invented a lie that my new husband is Muslim. It came completely out of nowhere. I don’t know why they are claiming this. I’ve seen it in a dozen press reports so far. Just an utter fabrication, never checked by anyone, billowing out into the internet and becoming “established fact” despite being totally untrue. This is how the media works, and it’s why you can’t trust a word they say”.

     

  • John Partridge and hubby celebrate their anniversary – topless natch

    EastEnders and former Celebrity Big Brother star, John Partridge and his boyfriend have just celebrated their anniversary!

    And they were on a yacht baby.

    The couple, Jon and John got civilly partnered in 2011, six years ago and are giving us serious relationship goals.

    Taking to Twitter, John’s partner, Jon said, “Six years ago I got to kiss my prince… Happy Anniversary @mustbejp Love you Baby xxx” and published a cute picture of the two locked in an embrace and kiss at their wedding.

    Speaking before he entered the Celebrity BB house in 2016, John said his husband keeps his feet on the ground… Including reminding the actor to “count to ten”, before opening his mouth. Apparently, Jon says,  “think about it again and then if it really compels you, then you’re allowed to speak.”

  • Drag Race’s Willam blasted for being “transphobic” during live broadcast

    Drag Race star, Willam Belli has been blasted over comments made during her show Suck Less.

    The season four drag queen was joined by Season 6 runner-up, Courtney Act, to answer fan questions. One such question was from a girl who had recently started to date a trans man. She was unsure of how to proceed with the relationship because he didn’t have a penis.

    Well, the resulting comments from Willam have sent fans on social media into a frazzle.

    During the show, Willam said,

    “Here’s the thing, he’s not your boyfriend if he’s not a boy and he’s not f**king you… just because someone says they’re a boy, doesn’t make them a boy.

    “If they haven’t had the science, they’re not a boy yet. Just because you cut your titties off and take testosterone, that doesn’t change your chromosomes.”

    Courtney called Willam out, saying that the comments were “transphobic” and told Willam that she had quoted Germaine Greer’s infamous “just because you lop off your d**k and then wear a dress, that doesn’t make you a f***ing woman.” quote.

    Courtney wasn’t having any of it and address the viewer directly saying,

    “You’re dating a trans man, by the sounds of it,”

    “Sometimes men have vaginas, and sometimes men have penises, and that is a fact of the world we live in.

    “[Just because he] does not have a penis, it doesn’t mean that he can’t pleasure you.”

    “I feel bad”

    The discussion continued – as Willam and Courtney continue to unpack the controversial comments made earlier.

    On Reddit, fans were not happy calling Willam transphobic and saying that as a Drag Queen should know better.

    Willam has responded to the allegations of transphobic saying,

    “I feel bad about how I made people feel about it and this is my official apology,”

    “I’m sad that me not knowing these things made my friends feel some kind of way,” he continues. “What I do makes me a known entity or a public figure, so I have to be more responsible for my words.”

  • Bradley insists his new song is not about his former X Factor partner Ottavio

    Bradley Hunt has hit out at the suggestion that his debut single, Side Dish is about his former X Factor partner Ottavio.

    Bradley’s new single and video must be one of the campest, colourful singles of 2017.

    So last week, Ottavio released his debut single and this week, Bradley, who was one-half of the flamboyant duo Bratavio on the 2016 series of X Factor, has released his. But Bradley has insisted that the song is not about his former singing partner.

    This is despite a scene in his video for the song, showing Bradley shredding a picture of Ottavio – before throwing the pieces into the air.

    Whilst looking at the photo, Bradley can be heard saying, “can you stop stabbing me in the back, with that fork”.

    Reality star Austin Armacost just tweeted a picture of him with no six pack or bulge – and the internet is not sorry for him.

    The normally buff Austin Armacost appeared a little less ripped yesterday when he posted a picture of himself whilst on a boat, wearing only swimming shorts. In the post, the Celebrity Big Brother star captioned that he “loved” his body, despite not having a six-pack, bulging biceps and being “a little chubby”.

    Well, the internet reacted and they weren’t showing the love for Austin or the post, with some suggesting that the post was damaging to his more impressionable fan base.

    The post was liked over 4,000 times, but some felt his post just didn’t hit home just right.

     

    During his time in Celebrity Big Brother, Austin made an impact with his muscular body and choice of clothing – or lack of!

    Apparently, it’s the most asked question funny man, David Walliams is asked about his Britain’s Got Talent fellow judge, Simon Cowell. The Little Britain creator told fellow comic John Bishop about the line of questioning on his brand new show, on W, In Conversation With.

    Of course, viewers of the show will know about the constant flirting and innuendo between the two, so how does David answer this question about Simon Cowell’s sexuality?

    David Walliams who has himself admitted that gender was not important for future relationships said that he was “starstruck” by Simon Cowell and said that he had a “crush” on the UK’s most powerful music man.

    Well apparently, the one thing, according to David, that makes Simon uncomfortable is any questioning about his sexuality, who said,

    “I’ve played up to it. It does make him quite uncomfortable and I suppose that’s why I do it because I feel like my job on that show is to completely wind him up.”

    Starstruck by Simon

    David Walliams said he found himself starstruck by Simon Cowell and that he had a bit of a crush on the music man.

    David, who revealed that gender was not an important factor when choosing a partner, then revealed that he had a bit of a crush on Simon, who’s currently appearing on ITV’s X Factor,  saying, “I am quite starstruck by him and he has got a lot of charisma so it is hard not to have a little bit of a crush on him.”

    Last year Simon came under fire from viewers after he made an inappropriate comment to presenter Rylan about liking it by the back door. Viewers have also noted Simon’s constant sexuality jibes towards fellow X Factor judge, Louis Walsh.
    Simon is partnered with Lauren Silverman and together they have one child, Eric who was born in 2014.

    Rosie O’Donnell says that she is saddened by the lost of her ex-wife Michelle Rounds.

    Rosie O’Donnell’s ex-wife, Michelle Rounds passed away on Monday after a suspected suicide. In a statement, the comedian said that she was saddened by the loss of her ex-wife.

    Michelle was just 46.

    According to reports, Michelle died after taking her own life after an apparent suicide.

    The pair began dating back in 2011 and got married in a private ceremony in 2012. In 2014 they separated and filed for divorce in 2015, which became final in 2016.

    Speaking about the loss, Rosie said, “I am saddened to hear about this terrible tragedy, Mental illness is a very serious issue affecting many families. My thoughts and prayers go out to Michelle’s family, her wife and their child.”

    Michelle’s mother posted a statement, “… If anyone would like to give to the National Suicide Prevention it would also be greatly appreciated. There are so many out there in this world that have demons that they think suicide is the only way out …”

    British comedian Alan Carr has just showcased his brand new look and he looks totally different. Many of his fans took to his Instagram profile to remark on how different the presenter looked, with some even going so far as to say the star looked “butch” whilst others questioned him on whether he had lost his job or had become homeless.

    Some of his fans weren’t so sure about the look, with many demanding that he shave off the beard and return to his more usual baby-faced grooming.
