  • Hopkins’ blast police force for taking part in pride parades

Katie Hopkins takes issue with police forces taking part in annual pride parades.

Policing with Pride – Police in Liverpool march in Liverpool Pride 2017

Katie Hopkins has taken a swipe at police forces in the UK for taking part in pride parades – and described them “as part of the problem”. The former LBC presenter was making a statement after it came to light that some police chiefs in the UK might have to pull their support from Remembrance Sunday parades due to lack of funding.

Speaking to her 823,000 followers on Twitter taking aim at police chiefs she wrote, “You can’t afford our Remembrance Parades (for fear of offending) but you can afford this vanity exercise?” before republishing a video of a police force taking part in a pride parade.

The tweet generated a huge backlash, with at least one person asking if the officers in the video were “real” and added that they were “an embarrassment”. Hopkins responded by writing “They describe themselves as ‘real officers’. We describe them as ‘part of the problem’.

This isn’t the first time Hopkins has commented on police inclusion in pride events, earlier in 2017, she remarked on Sussex Police spending £750 on pride decals for two of their cars.

Kit Harington has stepped back from remarks he made about men experiencing sexism in the entertainment industry. Last year, the GoT actor suggested that he felt subjected to sexism. Most notably when he stripped off for photo shoots.

Speaking to The Times, last year, Harington said, “There’s definitely a sexism in our industry that happens towards women, and there is towards men as well…

“At some points during photo shoots when I’m asked to strip down, I felt that.”

He continued, “I like to think of myself as more than a head of hair or a set of looks. It’s demeaning.

“Yes, in some ways you could argue I’ve been employed for a look I have. But there’s a sexism that happens towards men.”

Now stepping back from calling it sexism, Kit told the Guardian, that he was “wrong” adding, “sexism against men is not something I should have really said“. He made the clarification that he should have said, “being objectified”.

“I think what I meant was, being objectified. At that time, I did feel objectified, and now I’ve learned how to control that.

Explaining about the objectification of men, he continued, “Look, I do think men can get objectified. I do feel I have been objectified in the past, sexually as well, in pieces that have been written about me. Has that made me feel uncomfortable in the past? Yes. Do I think my position is the same as a woman’s in society? No. They’re very different things, and I should have separated them. I was wrong.”

  • Katie Hopkins’ book, Rude, has publish date pushed back

Katie Hopkins’ book, Rude has had its publishing date pushed back…

Is Rude in Rude health? Katie’s publisher pushes back the drop date for former Celebrity Big Brother and Apprentice star Katie Hopkins’ book. When we first wrote about the book in June the book was placed at number 31,776  in the Amazon Best seller’s list – from pre-orders alone and had a publish date of 5th October 2017. Publishers, Biteback have now advised that the publish date is now 7th November.

The book now sits at number #22,535 in Amazon’s best sellers’ list. Hopkins has now embarked on a speaking tour,

Katie Hopkins, who has in the past said that it was her mission in life to become a “gay icon” has had a number of setbacks this year, including her legal battle with Jack Monroe and her departure from the LBC radio station. She does however still have her column with the MailOnline.

THEGAYUK.com reached out to Katie’s Publisher for comment who said,

“On 7th November Biteback will publish Rude a memoir by Katie Hopkins.

Love her or hate her, Katie Hopkins is impossible to ignore, and this hilarious and revealing new book – part memoir, part handbook for the modern woman – is the same.

Laughing through the chapters of her life, she shares her disasters, her biggest disappointments and the time she had to ring her super sensible boss to say she was on the front pages of the tabloids having sex in a field.

From being kicked out of the army for being epileptic, to firing little Lord Sugar; from her first husband leaving her in the maternity ward for the big-boobed secretary, to the reality behind Celebrity Big Brother, she has plenty of surprises to share and lessons she thinks we should learn.

Readers be warned, however. Katie doesn’t sugar-coat anything, and neither does she hold back, making her as honest in her book as she is in life.

But this book is an introduction to a quieter Katie too, one people seldom see. She takes us beyond her front door and into the privacy of her home, writing as a mum of three, sharing things even she feels awkward saying.

  • No Hazel-E we won’t forgive you for your dangerous homophobia

After writing that we should burn in hell, Love & Hip-Hop Hollywood star Hazel-E is asking for forgiveness.

Hazel E star of the Love & Hip-Hop Hollywood TV show is apparently asking her gay fans to forgive her after saying  “burn in hell just like God said in the bible”!

She made the comment in a comment on her boyfriend’s already homophobic Instagram post, which proclaimed that he said he hoped all gays would die and go to hell.

Why did this all come about? Well, some troll apparently accused her boyfriend, Rose Burgundy of being gay and he was not happy about it. Taking to Instagram he wrote, “You really want to know how I feel about gays so bad well here you go I hope all gays die and go to hell…”

Hazel-E then commented under his post saying, “Burn in hell just like God said in the Bible!”

TMZ gave the star a platform to explain herself and her remarks.

In a video, she says that she didn’t think her comment was a good idea and that she relied on the LGBT community for supporting her career. She also said that she didn’t mean the entire community – just that one troll.

She said, “OMG, my life this hair, this makeup, this glam, my world would like, fall apart without the LGBT community”

Watch as she asks for forgiveness and then tries to explain her comment away.

  • Shane Bitney Crone: My connection with Tom – his spirit and soul – can’t be buried

“Sometimes I am overwhelmed by my desire to see him again, even just one more time. I would give anything to give him one more hug, to have one more conversation, to share one more laugh.”

Shane Bitney Crone has shared an incredibly emotional tribute to his late former partner Tom Bridegroom. Tom’s life and death became the subject of an award-winning documentary called Bridegroom which tackled the issue of marriage equality and the discrimination many same-sex couples faced, in the US, before gay marriage became legal.

After Tom fell to his death in 2011, his parents would not allow his partner, of six years, to be part of, or even attend the funeral. They even, he alleges, threatened violence if he dared to show up.

During a recent visit to Indiana, where Tom is buried, Shane stopped to visit the graveside which years before he was denied access to.

Happier times: Shane and Tom stand in front of the Eiffel Tower in Paris, France during their six-year relationship.

Shane, who has become an LGBT+ advocate and speaker, published a heartwrenching post on Instagram after he visited the grave of his former partner.

The rain was heavy and the wind was strong as I drove through Indiana yesterday. While on my way to the next stop on my fall college speaking tour, I decided to take a detour and visit Winamac Cemetery, where Tom is buried. ———————————————————- Every time a car drove by me while I stood at his grave, I held my breath, worried that it was someone from Tom’s family: the family from whom I’ve been estranged since his death; the family who threatened me with violence if I dared to show up for Tom’s funeral. I got angry at every car driving by, projecting my fear and resentment of some of his family onto the unassuming inhabitants. I felt like I was being robbed of my time with Tom, which made me more upset. ———————————————————- It took a long time for me to accept that Tom’s body would forever rest in the ground, in a place from which he had felt completely disconnected during the years before his death. But I’ve finally come to terms with the fact that where his physical remains lie is of no consequence. I know that my connection with him—his spirt and soul—can’t be buried, and the memories we shared travel with me wherever I am, transcending time, space, and six feet of dirt. Sometimes I am overwhelmed by my desire to see him again, even just one more time. I would give anything to give him one more hug, to have one more conversation, to share one more laugh. I know it’s impossible, but I’ll never stop wishing he was still here, for my sake and the world’s. Fortunately I know that in a way, he will always be here, making the world a better place, through everyone he ever met and/or inspired. ———————————————————- Tom’s grave serves as a potent reminder that life is fragile and tomorrow is never promised. I hope that by sharing this photo and these thoughts with you, you’ll be reminded to tell those who are special to you that you love them. Kiss your loved ones. Hug them. Cherish every moment. You can never show too much love to the people who matter because one day, you may not have the chance.

  • The club Violet Chachki accused of dragging her out, is considering legal action

    This is getting interesting.

First, RuPaul’s Drag Race winner Violet Chachki, (Jason Dardo), accused the nightclub, Le Depot of “physically dragging her out” because the entertainer was not masculine enough, now the French nightclub is considering legal action.

After Chachki’s accusations, the club was deluged with bad reviews from fans of the drag queen. It has now put forward its own version of events, saying it was ready to pursue legal actions.

“Le Dépôt is a Gay Club that has existed for 19 years and is an institution of Parisian nights that respects all the LGBTQI communities and all the gays in particular that they have chosen to express their personality in a masculine, feminine or androgynous. The establishment is in essence a place of respect for all and all of the sexualities.

“Violet Chachki was returned to the door of the establishment following unacceptable and inappropriate behavior and several reports of clients. Violet Chachki has posted videos of the Cruising Sex space of the establishment on her Instagram account, among others, even though this is expressly forbidden in the settlement of the establishment and that it had been reminded to him several times.
The management of the establishment did not react at the moment because it wished to cross-check the information and to watch the videos resulting from the telemonitoring.

The nightclub has been in existence for 19 years and is in the centre of French capital, Paris.

    The statement continues:

“At no time has there been any judgment on the gender, physical, skin color, sex or appearance of Violet Chachki who was received within the institution without any discrimination as the whole the clientele came for a festive event as part of the Fashion Week in Paris.

“Violet Chachki was not dismissed from the evening because she was not male enough, as she claims in her tweet: “I was just physically dragged out of the depot in Paris for not being masc presenting enough. I’m in shock and disgusted. fuck the French “(@violetchachki, 4:40 on 01/10/2017) but because his behavior was not in conformity with the rules of the establishment and the respect of the privacy of other customer in the Cruising space.

“Violet also showed an intolerable aggressiveness towards the security personnel who remained courteous despite the insults that you can see on his video or made against the French on his twitter account.

“The institution relays all campaigns against LGBTQI discrimination and has never been the subject of such a defamatory campaign and will initiate legal proceedings if necessary”.

    Oooo. Dramz
