Good Morning Britain presenter Piers Morgan has reached out to Sam Smith after using the wrong pronouns for the singer. In a tweet Piers’s referred to Sam as “he”
In his original Tweet Piers wrote, “Mr Smith came out as a gay man 5yrs ago, then as non-binary gender neutral 6 weeks ago, now he’s advertising ‘Man’s Concept Menswear’. It’s hard to keep up!”
However, Piers was called out for “misgendering” Sam Smith – with many taking exception to Piers using the pronouns “he”.
Sam Smith asked that people use “they, them and theirs”.
Piers offered an apology directly to Smith saying,
“CORRECTION: ‘their’ & ‘they’.
My sincere apologies to @samsmith for misgendering him as male after he advertised ‘Man’s Concept Menswear.’

Drag Race UK star Divina De Campo is showing off her incredible vocal range and people are loving it.
In a candid video clip shared on Twitter Divina sang a snippet from the song released from last week’s episode of Drag Race, “Break Up Bye Bye” which raced up the iTunes’ chart last week.
Fans first came to hear Divina’s unique tones during the recording of her group’s version of the song, which left songwriter and producer Mnek speechless.
Four and a half octave vocal range
Later in the programme, Divina told her fellow contestants that she had a 4 and a half octave vocal range. Mariah Carey has just half an octave more of range – at 5 octaves.
In the most recent reveal of her range, Divina wowed her fans on Twitter with a quick Rucap of her part in the song.
According to a report, a bar in Kampala, Uganda known to be LGBT+ friendly was raided by police, resulting in the arrest of 125 people.
The OutRight Action Internation campaign group a gay-friendly bar in the Ugandan town of Kampala was raided by police on Saturday night. According to their report around 125 were arrested and charged with drug possession which OutRight says is an indication of “an intentional and growing persecution” of gay people in the country.
The bar in question is an LGBT+ friendly bar and has been used by local activists for community events for over seven years. It was the only bar raided on the evening in question, indicating a clear targeting of gay, lesbian, bi and transgender people. According to Kuchu Times, the people arrested are due to appear in court within the next couple of days.
Kasha Jacquelin, a Ugandan LGBT activist, told OutRight:
“The past has shown that it is difficult to prosecute anyone for being LGBT. Using trumped-up drug charges is a new and frightening tactic; one which is really hard to tackle and will make our battle even tougher.”
At least four people have been killed in suspected hate-motivated attacks. Arrests of LGBT+ people have also increased. Prior to the raid carried out on November 10th, 16 people were arrested and charged with “trafficking in persons” and “carnal knowledge against the order of nature” at the end of October.
Increasing hate and stigma
Jessica Stern, Executive Director of OutRight Action International, commented:
“The resurfacing of the anti-homosexuality bill in a country which already prescribes life imprisonment for same-sex relations could only have had one intention – to increase hate and stigma against LGBTIQ people, putting them at heightened risk of arbitrary detention and attack. That is exactly what is happening. The growing intensity of arrests, the clear targeting of an LGBTIQ friendly bar, makes it painfully clear that a witch hunt is being mounted against LGBTIQ Ugandans.”
Is sex between men illegal in Uganda?
Sex between males has been criminalised in Uganda since British colonial times. At the turn of the century, the law was extended to include sex between females.
Articles on “unnatural offences” and “indecent practices” have been retained in the Penal Code since independence. “Carnal knowledge against the order of nature” between males carries a maximum sentence of life in prison.
The so-called “Anti-Homosexuality Act,” prescribing a death penalty for gay sex, was first passed by the parliament of Uganda in 2013 and signed into law by President Museveni in early 2014. It was invalidated by the Constitutional Court of Uganda on procedural grounds the same year.
According to local activists, the Minister of Ethics and Integrity of Uganda, Simon Lokodo, has indicated an intention to reintroduce the bill.

This isn’t the first time that the star has been in the jungle. Jenner previously entered the short-lived US version of the show in 2003 before she transitioned. Back then Jenner reached fourth place.

Who will win the race to 10 Downing Street – will Boris keep his premiership or can Corbyn or even Swinson knock him from the top spot? CREDIT: TheGayUK/Jake Hook
With our 3rd General Election in 4 years just around the corner, THEGAYUK.com undertook a flash poll to understand where its readers were thinking about putting their “X” when they visit the voting booth in December.
THEGAYUK.com asked its readers which way they planned to vote with the choices being Conservative, Labour, Lib Dem or “Other” which could include Nationalist parties like the SNP or single-issue parties like the Brexit Party.
There were only four options permitted – this the maximum number of choices Twitter allows its users for polls.
In total, nearly 360 people took part in the survey, which lasted just over two days via a Twitter poll.
Labour comes out on top – but only just
Overall Labour, led by Jeremy Corbyn, came out on top with 38 per cent of the vote but was closely followed by the Liberal Democrats, headed by Jo Swinson. The Conservatives, with the incumbent Prime Minister, Boris Johnson, managed to grab hold of 15 per cent of the vote, while “other” which would you include parties such as the Greens, UKIP, The Independent Group For Change, Brexit Party, Plaid Cymru
How will you vote?
While the survey is in no way scientific or wholly representational of the LGBT+ community in the UK, it does give some insights into which way THEGAYUK’s Twitter followers are planning to vote come December 12th. Discuss politics and more in our politics forum.
Last night’s episode of Drag Race UK was a tear jerker as The Vivienne shared her struggle with drugs, admitting that she was a “drug addict” for four years of her life.
Heartbreakingly the Liverpudlian drag queen revealed that she took party drugs for four years of her life – nearly dying in the process, saying that it was the loneliest part of her life and that she was “killing herself”.
In a workroom chat with her fellow Drag Race stars the fan favourite revealed,
“It was constant for me, A lot of my drug use was from boredom, I worked 7 nights a week and in the day I didn’t do anything and it was a habit that caught on a bit too quick and a bit too hard”.
“When people say you’ve got to hit rock bottom, it sounds so stupid but it’s the truth.
“I had to get kicked out of the house and told that I was going to be dead by the time I was 30 to actually sort this out”.
The UK version differs from the US version in that there is no cash prize or sponsored mini prizes, for the mini-challenges set by RuPaul each week, instead, the queens win a “RuPeter badge”.

However fan favourite The Vivienne has hit out at drag queens who say they aren’t impressed with winning just a badge – reminding them that there is more than just a badge at stake for anyone who takes part in the show.
In a tweet she explained that the girls are winning a lot more than a badge, that they are, in fact, winning their “dream careers”.
She wrote, “‘Im not applying for drag race s2! I want more than a badge’ We get more than a badge, a LOT more than a badge. #dreamcareer

And it uses a Sex in the City analogy, so double points
The differences between straight people and gay people can feel world’s apart sometimes.
Despite the fact that the legal and social gaps between gay and straight people are closing year on year, especially in the UK and other Westernised cultures, somethings probably won’t ever change.
One of the major differences is the way in which gay guys view, have and find sex.
Anecdotally, it feels as though gay/bi/curious men tend to have many more sexual partners than their straight counterparts.
So when we discovered this tweet from “Gay-Z” it felt like there could be a smidge of truth to it.
In the tweet, he wrote,
“Gay culture is being the Samatha of your straight group, but the Charlotte of your gay one”
For those not in the know, Samatha in Sex in the City was the far more raunchy, sexualised character – who had many sexual partners and sexual exploits than her friends.
Charlotte was a lot more reserved.
Controversial or truth?
The tweet could be seen as controversial, however, many of the repliers agreed with the statement, with one saying that it was “good” and another adding, “This is 100% accurate”.

Fans of The Apprentice were left in hysterics during last night’s show after contestant, Ryan-Mark screamed on the “Saw” rollercoaster from start to finish.
The Apprentices’ challenge in the episode was to create a rollercoaster for one of the UK’s most famous theme parks, Thorpe Park.
As part of the research element, Ryan-Mark and co-contestant, Lewis, took a ride on one of the park’s major attractions – however, the ride itself proved too much for Ryan-Mark, who screamed throughout the entire ride.
Fans of the show were left howling with laughter. One fan on Twitter wrote that he was “five minutes behind” after rewinding and rewatching the scene, calling it “one of the best Apprentice moments”.
