It turns out Michelle Visage was a fan of celebrity blogger Perez Hilton until he gave her the cold shoulder.

Camp vamp Michelle Visage hit out at Perez Hilton today because he started ignoring her emails. Michelle said that she was big supporter of Perez until he took a “dark turn” and got big headed. It was around that time that Hilton stopped answering her emails. Perez Hilton is celebrating 10-years of running his famous blog PerezHilton.com. He started the blog on his laptop in his local coffee shop. The website now enjoys millions of visits a day.

Perez replied that he was a ‘work in progress’. Shady?

Indeed. Are you team Perez or team Michelle?

  • REVIEW | Cirque du Soleil: Kooza at the Royal Albert Hall

★★★★ | Cirque du Soleil: Kooza at the Royal Albert Hall

Founded in 1984, Cirque du Soleil has been around so long now that finding something fresh to come up with in each new show must be a major headache. That they succeed as well as they do is a tribute to their creative team, which is still guided by Guy Laliberte, one of the founders.

Their show, Kooza, which premiered in Montreal in 2007 is receiving its UK premiere in the Royal Albert Hall, the scene of many of Cirque du Soleil’s successes, the hall’s Victorian rococo splendour and circular shape particularly suited to their shows. In this instance the stunning set had the look of a massive Faberge egg, which opened to reveal its magic and secrets.

According to the lavish programme booklet Kooza tells the story of the innocent, a naïve but charming clown striving to find his own place in the world, and as usual it is the clowns who tell that story whilst linking the various acts together. They have their own charm, but there’s no doubt it’s the daredevil acts that the audience have come to see, and as usual they do not disappoint.

For me the highlight of the evening was the death defying Wheel of Death, a spinning contraption with two empty drums on either side, in which, and on which, two male acrobats (Jimmy Ibarra and Ronald Solis) perform seemingly impossible feats, running and leaping as if the spinning of the drums was little more than a paltry distraction. Almost equally thrilling were the high trapeze antics of Yulia Korosteleva, who leaped and flew through the air with insouciant ease.

In contrast, we had a trio of impossibly bendy female contortionists and a man (Yao Deng Bo) who proceeded to balance himself on one hand on a huge tower of chairs which he constructed before our eyes. As a display of strength, concentration and accuracy, it was utterly mesmerising.

That said, I don’t think this show was quite on a par with Varekai, which I saw at the Royal Albert Hall some years ago, and the finale of which will stay in my mind for a very long time to come, so 4 rather than 5 stars for me.

Kooza plays at the Royal Albert Hall till February 19.

  • Going Down On Downton, Tom Cullen Naked

If you were one of the many fans who were so jealous of Lady Mary when Lord Tom Gillingham suggested that she jumps into bed with him, then we think that you may like to re-watch the Weekend movie to find out that he was hardly a virgin. Actor Tom Cullen that is.

In Andrew Haigh’s multi-award-winning movie, one of the best gay films of 2011, hunky Mr Cullen bares his soul AND SO MUCH MORE playing Russell who meets and falls in love with delicious Glen played by the equally handsome Chris New.

Here are some of the stills from the film… enjoy!

Meanwhile, Earl and Countess of Carnarvon the owners of Highclere where Downton Abbey is filmed have announced that they have opened up part of their home as a Hotel. You stay there for a mere £350 per night, which includes breakfast but sadly no liaisons with Lord Gillingham

  • Perez Happy For Another Gay In Big Brother

Perez greeted nineties singer Kavana with pleasure last night with ‘another gay’ comment.

Openly gay Perez Hilton was visibly excited during yesterday’s launch show when Kavana, who came out last year at the age of 36, entered the house. “Another gay” greeted Kavana, who looked somewhat bemused.

However not everyone knew about Perez’s sexuality after former Corrie actor, Ken Morley, who will share a bed with the celebrity blogger, enquired about his sexual orientation. Perez assured Ken that there will be no funny business, however, did go on to tell the group that he can’t share a bed as he gets erect when he comes into close body contact with another person.

Perez Hilton is well known for his celebrity spats. Most recently he and Azealia Banks made headlines and in 2013 Hilton feared for his and his son’s life when he fell out with Lady Gaga.

    Ooo er.

  • Michelle Visage – The Gays Chose It, Visage Talks To RuPaul

RuPaul picks up Michelle Visage in this episode of RuPaul Drives…

Old friends RuPaul and Michelle Visage take to the road in this episode of RuPaul Drives. The two friends talk about parenting, adoption and the origins of Michelle’s name in this 7-minute video.

In the video Ru asks Michelle, what would she say to an 18-year-old Michelle she answers “Focus”, “I’m a closer not a finisher.”

“I would also say stop worrying so much, what people think about you, I know that I’m chubby and older, but I’m okay… I’m happy with who I am.”

Talking about her real name (which is Michelle Lynn Shupack), she mentions about her introduction to the gay scene saying, “When I first moved to New York I got involved with the gay scene immediately, I went to the American Musical Dramatic Academy. If I wasn’t at school I was at clubs… and growing up in the 80s, teen clubs were very very big in the suburbs.”

In the story, Michelle admits that her mother actually supplied her with a fake ID so that she could go to the clubs in New York. During that time, whilst hanging out with the gays, the name Visage happened because people were calling her “Gara, Gara”, which meant face in Spanish. Michelle studied French at school and came up with the name Visage, which means Face in French.

  • The Dos And Do Nots Of Being A New Dad

The Dos And Do Nots Of Being A New Dad

If you’re a new dad or are planning to start a family soon, it can be a very exciting time.

    © DGLimages Depositphotos

It is, however, very important that you start to engage your dad mode in the months leading up to being a real daddy. No matter how many fatherhood books or dad guides you read, nobody is ever really fully prepared for what is to come with having a new baby. It is true that much of the enjoyment from parenting is learning from your mistakes, which in turn, makes you an even better parent, but this being said, there are certain things that are better off knowing before you dive head first into parenting.

Below I have listed 8 top tips regarding the “Dos and Don’ts” of being a first-time daddy:

Number one, and maybe most importantly, don’t forget to record everything in the early years. I don’t mean buy an expensive video camera and film your little one 24/7, I just mean make a permanent memory of anything that is significant to you, such as first steps, first tooth etc.

Many dads actually blog about their fatherhood experience, so if you really wanted to document everything about your baby’ first years you could think about writing it all up or video blogging. To get an idea of how it works check out Cisions top UK Daddy Blogs.

Don’t ever, and I mean ever, change a nappy without suitable protection for both the surroundings and yourself! Babies have a tendency to hold just a little bit of wee in, just to surprise you when you start to change their nappy. So unless you want to be covered in your little one’s urine, I would suggest preparing beforehand.

This being said, I would recommend taking a nappy changing bag everywhere you go, as you never really know when your little one will need to go! iCandy actually do Man Bags for dads that need something stylish and convenient to carry everything baby related around with them.

Don’t ever take your eyes off them! This may sound silly, but once they start to crawl they can disappear in a second, so you could quite easily go to make a drink and come back to the baby playing their own game of hide and seek with you.

Don’t ever wake a sleeping baby. Sleep is massively important to your baby’s development. Plus, I am sure you will realise when you become a full-time daddy that every second of their sleep is precious, due to the fact you get some peace and quiet yourself!

Don’t turn into a panicked maniac if your little one happens to give themselves a little bump or scrape. By this I mean don’t jump around and create a huge fuss, this is likely to scare your baby even more, and thus the hour long cries begin.

It is important to remember that even trips and falls go toward a baby’s mental and physical development. I would recommend being much more gentle and trying to calmly sooth your baby and reassure them as much as possible.

Do make sure you are constantly talking to your baby. It helps them develop in terms of speech, as well as helping to create a bond between your little one and you. WebMD have a really useful article for more information about how to talk to babies and what it does for their development.

Do set up a daily routine. It is always better, in my opinion, to have a daily routine for you and your baby. It helps your baby feel more stable and secure, and makes your life a whole lot easier, especially if you develop a regular bedtime.

Do let them explore. I know that many parents are extremely protective which is completely understandable, and normal, however, children, especially at a very young age need to explore the world (maybe just your front room). It is a huge learning curve for babies and massively improves the development of the mind as well as the physical aspect. Just make sure you are keeping an eye on them wherever they happen to wander off too.

Each of these points are things that I have picked up from my own experience as a dad, however, the last thing I would recommend is finding a suitable balance that is right for yourself. You may find that certain advice doesn’t really suit you, and that is okay. As long as your own techniques are best for your little one, any parenting style is perfect.

  • Gay News Site Proud To Re-Publish Charlie Hebdo Muslim Gay Kiss

In a defiant move, PinkNews has re-published a picture that depicts a controversial cartoon showing murdered editor Stephane Charbonnier French kissing a Muslim man.

Yesterday, (7th January) Paris was rocked to its core when up to three masked men stormed the Charlie Hebdo offices and murdered 8 staff members, including the editor Stephane Charbonnier. Charlie Hebdo is a satirical magazine that has in the past published pictures that have been considered offensive to some Muslims.

Twelve people have now known to have died from the shootings, including two police officers, a caretaker and guest at magazine’s offices. The majority of those killed were staff members who were in their morning editorial meeting. Four of the staff were cartoonists for the magazine, which has been running since 1970.

Despite the massacre, the publishers at Charlie Hebdo have announced that they will go ahead and publish next week’s issue.

The magazine has previously been targeted with a firebomb attack in 2011 and cyber terrorism for its editorial decision in showing content considered to be controversial.

In defiance, PinkNews said that it was proud to republish a controversial picture which showed the late editor kissing a Muslim man, in an article which shows powerful cartoon responses to the terror attack in Paris. The wording above the picture state: “Love Is Stronger Than Hate.”

    A PinkNews spokesperson said,

“The PinkNews editorial team decided to repost the cartoon simply to send the message that love is stronger than hate. This applies to all forms of prejudice, including homophobia, transphobia, Islamophobia and to any extremism against the West.

“In the end it is positivity and love which will always trump evil and hate.”
